Let your kids roam free on the hills behind our house and explore the "pirate ship" built into the terraced hillside. We are also in the process of planting a vineyard on the hill behind the house, which we hope will bring enjoyment and beauty to the area for future guests.

About Christian Williams

Tired of life in the Chicago suburbs, in 2004 we moved to the small town of Glendale, Utah near Zion National Park and Bryce Canyon off of Highway 89. We've made Glendale, Utah our home, but also have a love of the mountains with a mountainside retreat near Brian Head Ski Resort as well as living part time in Vienna, Austria.

Christian Williams purchased this house in 2004

Why Christian Williams chose Utah

Southern Utah was always our ideal vacation spot and we planned all of our vacations hiking and backpacking the many national parks in that area. So we decided, why not move to the place where we make our vacation? We purchased this small country side cottage, built by a pioneer 100 years ago, and have extensively remodeled and added on to it in a way that preserves it's countryside charm.

What makes this house unique

We love our home for many reasons. Note least of all is the fact that it is situated in the middle of some of the most beautiful, pristine countryside on the planet.

But as we've lived in the community, we've grown attached to our lovely neighbors, including the elderly single woman who raised 10 children in our home back long before we owned it and it was much smaller and now lives just across the street and has become like a grandmother to our children.

Aside from the history of the area, the location is tucked away off of Hwy 89, isolating us from the noise, but still quickly accessible to for day trips or hiking excursions in the outdoors.

Great For groups and children

  • 5 of 5

The home was great for a large group. The kitchen is newer and has everything we needed to prepare meals. The kids loved the property and playing on the pirate ship. The upstairs room is also cute for children.

Great get-away in a beautiful Utah valley

  • 5 of 5

This was the perfect place for our group of 8. We wanted to be close to the parks but away from the tourism. This cozy spot in a small town made us feel like we were at home. Great kitchen! Beautiful views from the property. Grocery store nearby. Close to Zion, Bryce, and Coral Pink Sand Dunes.

Perfect for a family with small kids

  • 5 of 5

We had such a great vacation in this beautiful little house. There were 4 adults and 4 children from 3 to 8 months. The house was very convenient for our children. They loved all the toys, books and their own fun beds upstairs. The location of the house was perfect for relatively quick trips to Bryce and Zion. There is a conveniently located grocery store in Orderville - it is small but has all the basics you need for cooking with kids. The kitchen was very user friendly and we love that there were so many hooks in the mud room and near the back door; the convenience of hooks is so underrated. The owners were very prompt in their responses and we were able to check in a little early which was very helpful. It rained in the afternoon when we were there so we did not make use of the outside patio table, but it is a very cute area. Finally we did a great hike in nearby Orderville; the views from the house and the immediately surrounding areas are fabulous. Thank you Karen and Christian.

Loved the place - Perfect Location

  • 5 of 5

Christian was a fantastic coordinator. When I had troubles with my dates, he worked with me and did not seem impatient as I was struggling with the vacation schedule. The place is perfect for families. With 5 kids, the upstairs had a row of 4 twin beds and the 4 oldest slept there and they loved it. If we come back, I will make sure we stay here again. Place is well priced, a little far from Zion and Bryce but the drive is gorgeous - so well worth it.

A few easy improvements would make this house a lot better.

  • 3 of 5

We stayed with our family in the house for a week. We were a total of 11 persons (7 adults and 4 children, ages 3, 5, 6 and 14 years old). The house worked for us but could be greatly improved with a few simple additions.

Negative: - There were only very bright ceiling lights upstairs and in the basement bedroom with only the light bulbs and no cover.

- there was only one nightstand with a table lamp, which we moved to the basement bedroom

- no table lamps/reading lights in any other room or nightstands to place your glasses or a book on

You really need to be able to turn on a small lamp at night when a child wakes up and/or needs to go to the bathroom. The bathroom was downstairs.

- no drapes or blinds in the basement bedroom.

- we could not fit 11 people around the dining table. One more chair would have made it possible.

- the outside patio was very small and had only a table and four chairs. It was not very inviting as their was a lot of weeds next to it.

- the "pirate ship" on the hill was all rotted wood and very unsafe for the children. It should either be repaired or taken down. We did not allow any children up there.

Positive: the house was clean.

There were plenty of towels and extra blankets.

We did not have any problems with the hot water and taking showers.

The kitchen was very nice and well equipped with everything you needed.

The wifi worked great.

If the improvements are made, I would recommend the house to my friends.

Great Family house

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed staying here at the house. It was very comfortable and cool even though we were there during a heat wave. The window air conditioning units did a great job cooling the house down for sleeping. We were able to spread out and relax after a day of hiking in the canyon. The kitchen was well stocked and user friendly. The owners are very easy to work with and the local manager was available for answers by phone. It was a great vacation before driving on to CA for our son's wedding. Thanks so much. Frank and Rhonda Seaman

We have two cats and a friendly rooster who show up occasionally on the property. This is our family home - please no smoking or pets and be respectful of the property. Feel free to enjoy all the books and toys, but return them to the place you find them!
