Photos and Description of this 2 bedroom holiday cabin in Emigrant

2 Bedrooms, 1 Bathroom, Sleeps 5

This cabin is an immaculate retreat situated above the Yellowstone river in beautiful Paradise Valley Montana just 25 miles from the north entrance of Yellowstone Park. It is our 2nd Cabin since our Cabin #1 was so successful.

It easily sleeps 5 with 2 bedrooms, a Queen bed in each and an Aerobed for extra guests. The Cabin is brand new with beautiful Custom woodworking. It has real-wood hickory floors, travertine in the kitchen, and tile in the bathroom. The kitchen and bathroom both have exquisite granite countertops. Our horses are often in the pasture across the street and their friendly curiosity helps people feel at home. The view is beyond magnificent looking out across Paradise Valley, the Yellowstone river, and the tall mountains across the valley. The Cabin has everything you need for a wonderful mountain adventure and vacation. Friendly, clean, & peaceful atmosphere. Eco-friendly environment - a non-smoking cabin; and it is only a short distance to Yellowstone National Park and/or Chico Hot springs Resort.

There is Wildlife to see everywhere, Deer in the backyard, Elk on the plateau...

Serence, Sparkling, Spectacular

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed a delightful week at Sage 2 on a mission to fish and visit Yellowstone Park. We had high expectations based on the description and a couple of preliminary calls with Neil and they were far exceeded.

We relish privacy and solitude when we get away ad Sage 2 offers both while being only minutes away from the Western hamlet of Emigrant, with an impressive general store, a good fly shop and cowboy barbecue. The larger towns of Livingston and Gardiner (which is at the entrance to Yellowstone and has a terrific pizza restaurant) are within half an hour. Bozeman airport, with many direct flights, including ours, is only an hour away. Several well known fishing spots on the famous Yellowstone River are within a 20 minute drive (you can see the river from the cabin). Some of our favorite moments were climbing the winding road back from town and returning to our porch where there was an unobstructed view of mountains that were actually in Yellowstone, thirty miles away.

The cabin itself is a bright, tastefully decorated architectural delight of natural light wood and stone counter tops. A beautifully manicured lawn and flower garden provide a comfortable transition to the untouched, wild landscape of the high desert beyond. The kitchen was everything we needed (any "heavy" cooking is done on the grill on the side porch which is just another great excuse to be outside). The bath was what you'd find in a contemporary, luxury hotel and, like everything else in Sage 2, immaculate. When we told our friends we were staying in a cabin in the Montana mountains, some said, "So, you're roughing it?" "Just the opposite," we'd say. There were many tough moments where we had a difficult decision on whether to go fishing or simply relish the view and mountain air on the comfortable front porch. The night sky is black velvet, with countless stars and the distinct splashes of the Milky Way and Andromeda and ethereally quiet for suburbanites like us.

Linda and Neil are wonderful hosts. Unobtrusive yet attentive, caring and interesting people who are only minutes away should you need anything (Neil comes buzzing up the mountain road on his ATV-just the kind of image you expect to see in Montana). We enjoyed their invitation to join them playing (and I mean, playing, like you would with puppies) with their beautiful horses the afternoon before we left.

If you're planning a vacation in the Montana mountains, you can't do better than Sage 2.

Beautiful and comfortable

  • 5 of 5

The cabin is beautifully decorated and clean. The views are gorgeous and the property is peacefully quiet. Neil and Linda are very accommodating but never intrude on your space. It's so much nicer having your own space rather than a unit in a complex or room in a hotel, it's more like staying in a home.

Owner's Response: Thank You Jack & Debra for the beautiful and kind words and the special memories that they recall. We greatly enjoyed sharing the Cabin with you as well, as really special guests who were able to receive and Value what we were trying to share. Thank you for bringing that sense of humor and twinkle of mirth including your fishing adventure stories... and cheering us on with the horses! We truly would hope to see you again in years to come.

Relaxing Romantic Retreat

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I absolutely loved staying in this cabin. From the moment we arrived we could feel the love and devotion that had gone into building this wonderful space and we basked in it throughout our stay. It was incredibly homey; every time I turned around looking for something it was in exactly the spot I would have chosen. It made me feel like I had lived there for years! And yet, at the same time, it was such an incredibly tranquil location so far away from the hustle and bustle of ordinary life that it served as a true retreat. Aside from the cabin itself being immaculately clean and well decorated, the view from the windows was truly extraordinary. I think I could have sat outside on the patio facing the mountains and well landscaped garden for hours and hours. I especially loved smelling the gentle aroma of the sagebrush as I spent time outside. Neil and Linda are truly gracious hosts and I would highly recommend staying with them in the beautiful oasis they have created!

This Cabin is Perfect

  • 5 of 5

As the title says, this cabin is perfect. It is brand new, built in July of 2015 but most importantly, it's built to last with plenty of love and respect for the beautiful land where was built. The doors are solid wood, the counters are granite, the sheets are flannel, the pots are all quality stainless steel, the silverware has weight to it. It was exceptionally clean when I got there and very warm throughout my stay-even when the power in the area went out for a couple of hours right at sundown.

The view is remarkable. The large kitchen and living room windows are huge and unobstructed. It was all I could do not to just stare out the window all day long. This is also the location of the back porch.

That's not even the best part, the owners are wonderful. They were helpful with directions before I arrived. They called me as I was driving in to make sure I could find the way. They left very clear instructions in the cabin and asked if there was anything else I needed. They provided me with everything I have wanted and more including time alone. The cabin is only a short drive to a Yellowstone entrance so there was a table covered with maps and books about the park inside the cabin.

You can tell by the map that it's not very close to anything but it is an easy drive from the airport in Bozeman. If you're looking for a night on the town, this isn't for you, but if you're looking for something that's truly a home away from home, this is it.

I have AT&T cell phone coverage and I did not have reception in the cabin itself, but that was exactly the kind of vacation I wanted. There is internet if you have a USB hook up on your phone or computer, but again that's not the kind of vacation I wanted. It's the perfect place to get away from it all, unplug and enjoy nature.

I have travled the world and this is one of the nicest places I've ever been. I absolutely plan on returning next year.
