We host weddings, Corporate Retreats, Family Reunions, and getaways. The lodge sits on 330’ of scenic lake front property located on Big Beaver Lake, with 3 acres of beautiful landscaping and mature gardens.
Fish or swim from our large dock or use the paddle boat to enjoy a scenic tour of the lake. A private boat launch is provided for your water toys.
Spectacular views of Denali, the Sleeping Lady, Chugach and the Talkeetna ranges are right outside your door where you can enjoy a stunning sunset on the patio or decks. This serene setting is beautiful and peaceful, the only sounds your will hear are float planes and pleasure boating. Wildlife is abundant with lake water fowl, bald eagles, sandhill cranes, moose and more.
You can relax on property or use it as a central base for exploring the surrounding areas. World class fishing is a short drive north and Denali is just 4 hours from the lodge. This area is home to many Iditarod dog kennels, where you can visit the mushers and ride on a dog sled. Life long Alaskan owners living on property can help guide you to all the activities available in the area.
The grounds are perfect for weddings, parties, corporate retreats and more. The lodge has a kitchen / dining room, living room, full bath, exercise / game room and four themed bedrooms for your comfort. There is a queen size aerobed available for use.
Step out your front door where there is plenty of seating room on the outdoor patio with a 6 burner BBQ, Cedar play set for the kids, and fire pit for those romantic evenings. The large deck on the upper level provides additional seating and lounge chairs for sunbathing and relaxing.
During the winter season enjoy snow machining from your door. The Big Lake trail system is just a 1/4 mile away. Ice fishing, cross country skiing, ice skating, or sledding down our hill are just a few things you can do. Watch the Northern Lights from the Jacuzzi or chat next to the warm fire. The Lodge at Eagle Rock is your ultimate winter and summer destination.
Michael and Desiree Humes are lifelong Alaskans who want to share their truly Alaskan home with people who enjoy lake life in the Last Frontier. We were both transplanted here from California as adolescents and have become the down to earth Alaskans we are today. We have three beautiful daughters and eight grand children.
Michael and Desiree Humes purchased this lodge in 2002
The property is located a short drive from all the activities. The weather here is almost always sunny and warm and you have an entire lake to play on. During the winter we enjoy a good amount of snow and the Big Lake trail system is a 1/4 mile away. Snow machining, ice fishing, cross country skiing, ice skating, and Northern Lights are just a few things to do.

Incredible space for a wedding, being able to stay at your venue is the most amazing thing, I wouldn't of had the wedding of my dreams otherwise. They were very accommodating and reasonable. Gorgeous house, gorgeous grounds and soaking in the hot tub after a long two days of prep and wedding was just the best bonus!! I highly recommend checking out The Lodge at Eagle Rock for your next event, wedding, or family vacation to Alaska! You won't be disappointed.
They were more then accomadating, they bent over backwards to make sure my wedding went off without a hitch, we were able to do everything we wanted to do and had perfect weather!
We held our daughter's wedding here in June. The setting was beautiful and the hosts were very helpful. The lawn is huge - we had enough space to set up five tents, a dance floor, seating for the ceremony and yard games. And that was just the lower level. The kid-guests loved having the swing set to play on. Mike helped us get the parking organized, and there was plenty of room for everyone's cars. It was great to have it for the whole weekend, and have plenty of time to set up and take down. We were very pleased with the venue.
Perfect getaway really does sum it up. We easily fit four families in this rental. There was plenty of space for the kids to play and the adults still had room for games and fun with the two living room areas. Lots of privacy with it being at the end of the road. Great sledding hill, an area was cleared nearby on the lake for ice skating or having fun sliding around in your boots for those of us who forgot skates. There is a grocery store and a gas station 5 minutes away in case we forgot any groceries. Owners were delightful, very hospitable, and easy going. Kitchen had everything we needed and more. Looking forward to staying there again in the future!
Let me start by saying, my family has needed a get-away for some time. I was looking to relax and the kids were looking to let off some steam. Pulling onto the property was a delight right from the start, a clear day exposed the Sleeping Beauty Range and coming around the corner... BAM there was Mt. McKinley, absolutely stunning! We pulled in and the owners were outside, Mike plowing the freshly fallen show away from the parking area and his wife Dez, salting the walkway as if they were awaiting our arrival! They greeted us with a smile and served my family hot chocolate... with marshmallows! Mike gave me the rundown on the Hot Tub operation knowing that my wife and I were going to be spending some time in that thing. Once we got situated in the house, which is beautiful including having every amenity you can think of, we took to the outdoors. The snow was great enough for sledding down the tier step to the lake... that was awesome! The kids truly enjoyed that until they came up with the plan to get the snow machines out! This place is the heartland for trail riding, we were gone for hours in every direction, we hit a portion of the Iditirod Sled Dog Trail, we cruised over to big lake and had a Hot Buttered Rum at another Lodge. That night, the kids were whooped and so was I but not to whooped to spend an hour in the Outdoor Hot Tub with the wife looking at the Northern Lights... I know it sounds like a fairy tale but this must be the way it is here in Alaska? The following morning I woke up and admired the scenery, I kept seeing Mike going back and forth in the truck at a distance, I went to see what was up and he said he planned a Bon-Fire for that evening if he thought my kids would like that? I told him I'd give him a hand. I had no idea that fires could be that big without some sort of fire truck on site! We made a pile of logs the size of Rhode Island (slightly exaggerated) from fallen logs from years ago. Later that night after we ice fished (which was surprisingly fun, relaxing but a bit chilly, but the schnapps kept me warm) we lit that fire... My kids, my wife and I have not seen a fire that size unless their were sirens roaring in the background... AWESOME! 2 of my kids after we got home asked if we could have a fire like Mike and Dez had, I said, "Only if Mother Nature ignites the forest behind the house!" To sum up my family's experience at Eagle Rock... Mike, Dez, Thank you for your warm hospitality, we' will be back, that's a guarantee!
Stayed here over the holiday weekend with the family. Awesome place to get away, could imagine an amazing wedding here. The proprietors were lovely and the property is quite stunning. Get to feel like you're away from it all while still being close to anything that you might need. The lake was warm (for Alaska anyway, LOL;) as was the hospitality, would recommend to anyone looking to escape for awhile.
