Come to Santa Fe and experience the smell of green chiles roasting in September, the International Balloon Fiesta is just an hour away in October, the smell of pinon smoke and skiing throughout the winter and spring months, plus all the activities that take place in the summer. Downtown is host to Spanish Market in July and Indian Market in August plus Arts & Crafts fairs and festivals taking place on the Plaza with live music on the Plaza’s bandstand. About Romi Sloboda Dunahugh

Once upon a time, two artists fell in love, became best friends, combined their resources, married and learned to work together renovating houses into homes.

It turns out that they were pretty good at it and Casita Cameo is their latest collaboration.

Chip and Romi are the artists who live in the historically contributing territorial style adobe house at the front of the property located on Agua Fria Street, part of the historic El Camino Real. When not working in their studios or on renovations, Romi enjoys looking after their organic gardens and Chip knows practically every nook and cranny of Ski Santa Fe, less than 18 miles away, and he’s currently the record holder for most vertical feet skied in a single season. Casita Cameo is located in the center of their property, with a private fenced yard and offstreet parking. We’d love to have you visit and fall in love with Santa Fe just as we did over ten years ago.

Why Romi Sloboda Dunahugh chose Santa Fe

After meeting in Florence, living in Paris and in Old City Philadelphia, we love living in a city where we can walk to museums, gallery openings and to our favorite restaurants.

Our very first visit to Santa Fe was in 2003 and, like many Santa Feans, we fell in love with it right away and dreamed of moving here one day. Two years later, our dreams came true and we hope that you fall in love with Santa Fe during your visit too!

Loved being at Casita Cameo

  • 5 of 5

Casita Cameo is a perfectly located, lovely, and very livable casita in the heart of the historic district, that is decorated with the owners' own art work. The casita has everything anyone could want including a small washer/dryer. Romi is a host beyond compare. She went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable and informed. We felt as if we made a new friend. When we return to Santa Fe, this is the place we would stay.

Perfect!

  • 5 of 5

This is a great place to stay while visiting Santa Fe. It is roomy, convenient, and clean. It's easily accessible and close to everything. And though it's nestled in between busy streets, it's very quiet. Romi gave us some great references for places to find excellent Northern New Mexican food.

My daughter and I loved our casita for the week. Very cozy and comfortable, the kitchen is equipped with everything necessary to make meals. The fireplace adds a cozy feel. Highly recommended!

I enjoyed staying at Casita Cameo. Romi was very welcoming and made me feel comfortable the entire visit. The Casita is comfortable place and within walking distance to most of Santa Fe's attractions. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone needing a 1 bedroom in Santa Fe.

Great experience

  • 5 of 5

Cameo Casita was a charming place to stay during our week in Santa Fe. It was nicely appointed in every way. It was close to the plaza, museums, and shopping while being quiet and private.

I would recommend this property to others for a wonderful stay in Santa Fe.

Five stars, six if we could.

  • 5 of 5

Chip and Romi have created an elegant, quiet, restful casita in a central location that is private and a joy to come into. The casita is beautifully appointed, everything you need is right where you would expect it to be. The appliances are new, the bed is wonderful, there is lots of hot water, the living room is comfortable and the walls have art work by Chip and Romi. This is a perfect base from which to explore Santa Fe or, if you're a local and are coming back to Santa Fe, a central place from which to re-connect with friends, easy walking distance from all those amazing restaurants and the plaza. World class job, Chip and Romi, thank you!
