About Romi Sloboda Dunahugh

Once upon a time, two artists fell in love, became best friends, combined their resources, married and learned to work together renovating houses into homes.

It turns out that they were pretty good at it and Casita Cameo is their latest collaboration.

Chip and Romi are the artists who live in the historically contributing territorial style adobe house at the front of the property located on Agua Fria Street, part of the historic El Camino Real. When not working in their studios or on renovations, Romi enjoys looking after their organic gardens and Chip knows practically every nook and cranny of Ski Santa Fe, less than 18 miles away, and he’s currently the record holder for most vertical feet skied in a single season. Casita Cameo is located in the center of their property, with a private fenced yard and offstreet parking. We’d love to have you visit and fall in love with Santa Fe just as we did over ten years ago.

Why Romi Sloboda Dunahugh chose Santa Fe

After meeting in Florence, living in Paris and in Old City Philadelphia, we love living in a city where we can walk to museums, gallery openings and to our favorite restaurants.

Our very first visit to Santa Fe was in 2003 and, like many Santa Feans, we fell in love with it right away and dreamed of moving here one day. Two years later, our dreams came true and we hope that you fall in love with Santa Fe during your visit too!

Absolutely charming getaway

  • 5 of 5

I stayed here for a weekend in late Sept 2016 entouré from NY to CA with my dog.

This was my first trip to Santa Fe and it did not disappoint.

The house is beautifully decorated. The location is within walking distance from the Railway Park, lots of great restaurants and the historic downtown (about 20 min walk).

There is a fenced in yard that my dog was able to run around in and stretch her legs.

But what truly makes this guest house special are Romi and Chip. 5 star hospitality all the way. They greeted me at my arrival and my departure. Chip gave a full orientation of the house, and they left s guide book with all of their favorite picks around Santa Fe. (Right down to favorite menu items!). I followed their recommendations and ate very well.

Chip even invited me and my dog on s hike with him.

Truly wonderful. I would highly recommend!

Loved it! Loved it! Loved it! The casita is well furnished, well equipped, and very comfortable! The location is outstanding! It's an easy drive to the plaza, downtown, the railyard and the museums! Chip and Romi are great hosts. They're friendly and informative. They made themselves available for our entire stay. We highly recommend Casita Cameo!

Everything we expected and more!

  • 5 of 5

First, our hosts greeted us and were very welcoming. They explained everything about the casita as what was available, how things worked, etc..

This well built, modern, and spacious casita was extremely clean and well appointed. Tucked up the drive past their home, it was very quiet. It was great to be able to take the short walk to the Railyard and a bit longer right to the plaza. You cannot go wrong with choosing Casa Cameo.

lovely casita

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely stay in the Cameo Casita. The house had all were needed for a comfortable stay. Everything was in excellent condition. The location is about a ten minute walk from The Plaza and less than a five minute walk to the Railyard. Great restaurants are wthin walking distance. Romi and Chip left so many good ideas for eating out and activities. There is so much to do in this area that our two week stay was not nearly long enough.

We are already thinking about our next visit to Cameo Casita.

Great Space

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I spent a week at Casita Cameo this past May. It was a perfect place for us to relax after our days out hiking in the mountains and desert. The recent renovations, kitchen equipment and in unit laundry made this place as comfortable as home. The patio and grill were perfect for making dinners. You are also just a short walk from the plaza and restaurants for dinner if you don't feel much like cooking. Romi and Chip were very welcoming and available if anything was needed as they live on the property. If we find ourselves in Santa Fe again we would definitely stay here.
