Property type house
Minimum Stay 2 nights

About the property

2 Bedroom, 2 Bathroom Sunday Haus

This Historic Pioneer Sunday Haus is Walking Distance to Town for Shopping, Festivals, Museums, Wine Tasting, Restaurants, and Night Life. It Was Originally a Two Room Rock House. The Pioneers Would Live in the Country and Come to Town by Horse and Buggy for the Weekend to Shop, Go to Church, and Socialize. They Would Stay in Their Sunday Haus.

Over the Years This House Has Been Added Onto to Accommodate Two Charming Bedrooms Filled With Beautiful Antiques. There is One King Bed, and One Queen Bed With Luxury Bedding. There Are Two Cute Bathrooms Utilizing Antiques for the Vanities With Vessel Sinks. One Bathroom Has a Tub With Shower and the Second Has a Shower Only. There is a Utility Room With Washer and Dryer. No Hallway Was Added So One Must Pass Through the First Bedroom to Get to the Second Bedroom. The Kitchen Has Not Only an Antique Pie Safe and Antique Table But Modern Appliances and Granite Countertops. The Back Porch Pergola is Perfect for Relaxing While Grilling Outdoors. There is off street parking for 4-5 cars. Hoerster Haus Was Recently Remodeled (June 2015) With All the Comforts of Home!

As much as we love children and pets this house is not child proof. It is not appropriate for young children or pets. There is not a fenced yard and it is filled with antiques. Thanks for understanding

If you reserve for 7 nights there is a discount and the rate will be $1100. If you reserve for 30 nights the rate will be $3500. If you reserve for 30 consecutive days I can remove the tax.

The property itself was charming and nicely updated. The problem was that we were unable to stay.

I booked this house for a girls weekend to celebrate my daughter’s 21st birthday. We were excited about the trip and the house was quaint. We arrived at the house, dropped off our things and headed to town. During this time I received word that a donor organ had been found for my son who was on the liver transplant list. This can happen at any time and there is no planning for it. We immediately packed our things and began the journey home. I called the owner to let her know we would not be staying and in fact had not utilized the house in any way. She responded by telling me she was not obligated to refund any of our money but out of the kindness of her heart she would refund the cleaning fee (we didn’t use the house so it did not need to be cleaned) plus an additional token amount equivalent to the “extra guest” fee per night. Under the circumstances, I was very disappointed with her decision. In addition, be aware of the “extra fees” charged. The original rental amount sounded great for a 2 bedroom, 2 bath. Surprisingly that price is for 2 guests. Because there were 4 of us we were charged an additional amount. I could understand the zero cancellation or refund policy had we cancelled for a flippant reason but considering this was a life or death surgery which we had no control over the timing of, I didn’t think it unreasonable to expect an exception.

Owner's Response: When one makes a reservation for a vrbo property one is given the opportunity to read the terms and conditions for that property. Then if satisfied one checks a box agreeing to such terms before clicking on the pay now button. One is also given the opportunity to purchase insurance in case one must make an emergency cancellation at 10 pm on Friday night to care for a family member's health needs for example. One is given the opportunity to read the rates to see how many people can stay at the property. At my property I allow 2 people and charge an additional fee per each additional guest up to 2 additional guests. More guests more wear and tear on the property, more water and electricity is used. I also provide amenities such as bath soap, dish soap, dishwasher soap, toilet paper, paper towels, coffee, filters, and more. Future guests please be aware that vrbo charges on all properties a service fee. This is one way they make their money. Also city and state taxes must be collected. In this particular case there was trash in the trash cans, bathroom hand towels were used, and trash was in the den, but I still refunded the cleaning fee plus more.

Perfect spot for a weekend with Mom!

This house is charming and so comfortable! The location is great, close to everything. We solved the bedroom situation by putting the early riser in the front bedroom and it worked out perfectly. next time I visit Fredricksburg I'll try to stay here again. Just lovely!!

The backyard is perfect for sitting in the evening as well.

Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas area

a cozy little house

  • 5 of 5

What a lovely time we had in Fredericksburg. This house was so charming. Everything you could want or need is there. We enjoyed the local chicken checking us out and one night when we came home we saw 3 deer crossing the street. So much fun. Thank-you Pat for sharing your cottage with us.

The Hoerster Haus was lovely, with great antiques placed throughout the house. We had everything we needed inside as well. Close to town, which made it easy to walk around and shop. I would stay here again.
