About the property

1950's Cottage with Contemporary Design Near Lake Huron

Enjoy our lovely and cozy home nestled in the fragrant Northern Michigan pines, in Rogers City, Michigan.

The house was built in the 1950's, and it has been recently renovated with stylish modern touches. Relax in the living room, front and back sunrooms, or in the enclosed backyard. There is a downstairs bedroom and a large upstairs sleeping loft, and the house can comfortably accommodate six guests. The Hideaway is located a half-block away from the beautiful sandy beaches of Lake Huron and directly across from Hoeft State Park. Enjoy the game room - with pingpong and foosball - and our custom-built fire pit, as well as a grill, hammock, and outside dining area. Set out and explore the miles of public trails, beaches, and paved biking paths that are outside the home's door. Whatever you are looking for, the Hideaway provides the perfect getaway location. Please be aware that there is no television (other than the DVD player), cell service is limited, and there is no wi-fi in the house. Available year-round.

About Monica

We, Steve and Monica, are both originally from Rogers City. We attended school together and were high school sweethearts. Over the course of the next 20+ years, we lived in cities all over the country, including New York and Chicago, and (finally) married in 2014. We now reside in Northern Michigan with our two beloved rescue dogs.

Why Monica chose Rogers City

The Hideaway has been in Monica's family for decades, and it was recently passed down to us. We have renovated the house and added many modern touches, while still maintaining the home's 1950's charm. We look forward to sharing the Hideaway and the unparalleled natural beauty of the area with our guests.

Charming and welcoming cottage right next to Lake Huron

  • 5 of 5

The Lake Huron Hideaway is full of amenities for families: games, ping-pong table, football, fenced backyard with a fire pit, washer and dryer, books and movies. It is well-stocked with the essentials (towels, toilet paper, kitchenware) and everything is functional. The decor is peaceful and inviting. Lake Huron, with its inviting water and rolling dunes, is a short walk away.

Lake Huron Hideaway is a GEM!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I were looking for a cozy place to celebrate our 2nd anniversary, and wow! This cottage delivered in every way imaginable. The location is fantastic being less than a block to the beach, and across the street from the park. The cottage is so cozy that you don't want to leave. Monica thought of every little touch you could imagine to make the stay just perfect. The decor is fantastic! I can't say enough about what a gem we found in the Lake Huron Hideaway. We just loved it!

They Have Thought of EVERYTHING!

  • 5 of 5

What a fantastic place to stay. The owners have gone out of their way to make you feel at home. We loved playing games and listening to records on the record player. We cannot wait for the opportunity to return to this property.

Practically perfect in every way! Comfort, location, activities at hand and the most perfect beach

  • 5 of 5

We had a little trouble getting a fire going for lack of newspaper and sticks, but we will prepare ourselves better next time. All and all we relaxed and enjoyed the comfortable furnishings, games, bike trail, quaint downtown and surprisingly convenient bakery down the road. Did I mention the quiet and peaceful beach. Just lovely.
