Single-family home in a peaceful location with 300 m2 garden and large parking space and perfect for outings thanks to its excellent transportation connections. On the ground floor, there is 1 kitchen, 2 sleeping areas, and 1 bathroom (toilet, shower, sink). The upper floor has a large living area, a spacious bathroom (bathtub, shower, toilet, 2 sinks, and urinal) and a bedroom. The garden is a fine choice for grilling and relaxing. The Hufeisensee is just a 5-min walk away. The bakery and a small pub are roughly 150 m away. The central location here provides the option to take a variety of daytrips. You can, for example, visit Wörlitzer Park, Seeburg Castle, Harz National Park, or the Dübener Heath. Diekauer Park, with its limitless cycling paths, is located within the nature reserve in the immediate vicinity. The old town centre of Halle has many cafes, small pubs, and plenty of other things to discover. Other places to go: Moritzburg, Händel House, the Beatles Museum, etc., as well as boat tours along the Saale. Sporting and shopping options: swimming and sauna area (8 km); Peißnitz Park for jogging, hiking, and cycling (10 km); winter sports centre (10 km); squash centre (10 km); tennis courts (indoor/outdoor) (15 km); water skiing (1000 m); diving centre (1000 m). Shopping: Hallescher Shopping Centre (HEP) (1.5 km); Halle Centre (5 km); Peißen Shopping Centre (10 km); Güntersdorf Shopping Centre (15 km). Nature, culture, and leisure time: the birthplace of Händel is a great place to visit, as well as: the mountain zoo; the Galgenberg and the Saale Valle; the Giebichenstein Fort (Saale Hiking Trail); Moritzburg (art exhibition); a botanical garden (March through October); Händel House; the Beatles Museum; Dieskauer Park; the opera house; four live theatre locations; the Stadtgottesacker; the Francke Foundations; the Halle cathedral and residence; the Marien Library; various museums; and so much more. Our rentals were previously for private use and were converted into holiday homes in 2002.
The advantage of our holiday homes are their central location. They are well-connected to the city centres of Halle and Leipzig, the A14 and A9 roadways, and the Halle/Leipzig airports. On the other hand, our peaceful location leaves you within walking distance of natural areas and relaxing, swimming holes.
The house was spacious and clean. Perfect for our family of 5. Bernd the owner was attentive and even helped find a place where we might rent bikes. We enjoyed neighborhood ice cream and the local bakery as well. I would recommend this property to anyone.
This is a lovely house, especially upstairs, and remarkably quiet and secluded, though in a little town. The Klewer family were very helpful and we also appreciated walking around the nearby lake. The location (Halle and the closeness to a motorway) was key for us for we wished to drive to various important sites in the life of Martin Luther, the great Protestant Reformer, e.g., Eisleben, Mansfeld, Eisenach, Erfurt, Wittenberg, Wartburg, Coburg, Nimbschen and Torgau. It still meant a fair bit of driving but this is inevitable if you stay in one place, for Luther travelled some distances in his eventful life. (This sentence makes perfect sense but it could be understood to be making contradictory assertions!) The trip was very rewarding for our group of seven for, in connection with our own reading before and during the trip, plus tour guides, etc., we gained a much better understanding of Luther's family, education and trials (Anfechtungen) and saw the places intimately connected with his work as a Bible translater, preacher, university lecturer, husband, writer, theologian and church reformer. From our base in Halle, we also made forays to the Harz mountains and the beautiful towns of Wernigerode and Quedlinburg, and two sites especially connected with World War II: Buchenwald and Colditz Castle (a big favourite in our family because of the escape books and the board game). For us, our fine house in the suburbs of Halle worked really well, especially because it was central to so many quality sites within driving distance. And we didn't even get to Potsdam, Berlin, Magdeburg, Dresden, etc., for there was too little time!

Positives: die Vermieter sind freundlich, das Haus war sauber. Parkplätze am Haus; Bäcker im Dorf; W-Lan
Ungünstig: ohne Auto nicht wirklich Citynah; abends im Dorf nichts los (abgelegen)
Negativ: Küche sehr klein und eher ungemütlich zum länger Sitzen (wir waren 7 Personen); keine Mikrowelle oder Ofen, um ev. Brötchen aufzubacken; Zimmer sehr einfach gehalten, im großen Bad ist die Toilette nur durch einen Vorhang vom Rest abgetrennt, Bad unten sehr klein (keine Lüftung); kein Geschirrspüler
Diese sehr saubere und gepflegte kleine Wohnung war perfekt für meinen beruflichen Aufenthalt in Halle. Gesicherter Parkplatz, WLAN, Küche - alles top - Danke!
Peaceful location at the edge of Halle, surrounded by a nature reserve with multiple lakes for swimming. The perfect place for group, tourist outings, whether it is by foot, cycle, car, boat, or bus–the choices are numerous and diverse. Museums, churches, a botanical garden, a lovely old town centre, and a mountain zoo are all in the immediate area. The Saale ferry brings you to Wettin and back. Daytrips to Wörlitzer Park, Seeburg Caste, or Harz National Park are no problem at all. Halle-Messe Station is within walking distance. Golf: golf course roughly 40 km away.
