good place to stay

My daugter and i have been there 3 days last week. We had a very good expérience with Ken. Ew feel to be like at home. Great location for us because we had no car. The view from room is spectacular. great place for down town.

A premier location

The apartment features excellent views of English Bay and Granville Island broken only by a couple of other apartment towers. Multiple, keyed entry gates ensure building security. During our stay, infrastructure upgrades were in progress which caused minor occasional inconvenience, but should be completed at the time of this review.

We had free run of the house including a kitchen, laundry and the living area. Our bedroom was a little small, but not cramped. More table surface in there would have been welcomed but we could adapt. The bath is detached from the room - across a hall and therefore possibly an issue for some. A small in-room fridge made our snack haul from Granville Market easy to store. There are small patios with seating off of the living room and our bedroom which offer a breezy view for snacking.

If you must have total darkness to sleep, bring a sleep mask. It gets bright early with the floor to ceiling windows. There is no AC. But on the 22nd floor, you hardly need it with the windows opened. Even in summer, it gets cool at night at that altitude.

Our host was only there part time, but we enjoyed his company and visitor tips. His dog was agreeable from the start. Pay attention to Ken's detailed instructions on unlocking the doors and accessing the garage. Bring a multi-cord charger for all your e-gadgets since there are only a couple of easily accessible outlets. Ken's place is clearly his home - not a "girly" place.

Walkable dining options nearby are really about two, one of which is a real gem. 10-10 Tapas. Uphill from the harbor area, there are more.

Owner's Response: Thank you Mr. and Mrs. M..... for the wonderful review it was on absolute pleasure to meet you both as we spent several days together we got to know each other a bit you John tell some great stories , you forgot to mention the great fireworks we had off the balcony on the Wednesday night the 27th but nonetheless I was glad to hear you had a good time for any future renters reading this review I like add I installed more counter space and a multi power plug that accepts Europe electronic plugs as well. I recently purchased a second apartment in my building VRBO 904304 this gives a travelers a option of a beautiful private 2 bedroom 2 bathroom full kitchen and balcony suite with same view as my suite (I might add decorations less masculine)LOL. What a view!

The view was spectacular from the 22nd floor. We enjoyed our overnight stay. The apartment was clean and tidy and well appointed. The host was gracious and met us at the garage for free parking and escorted us to the apartment. We were just across from Granville Island and Vanier Park. The small aquaboats made the passage easy. We'd stay again.

Gracious Host and Heavenly views of Vancouver

We thoroughly enjoyed our brief, but beautiful stay... Ken, the owner, was more than gracious and we felt like we were visiting a relative. The views from this high rise in Downtown Vancouver are spectacular... a bedroom that features wrap around windows overlooking the harbour and the distant Mountains...Who could ask for more?

This Marina Resort Condo is Everything like the photos...and More

Being Washington State residents, for our mini-vacation in early March we selected this shared condo with stunning views of English Bay. We'd communicated with the owner by text (a week or two prior to our arrival) and felt a solid sense of camaraderie with him. We felt comfortable knowing that we'd be in good company on our arrival to Vancouver.

Without any reservation - I can say that we 'Lucked Out' - in ALL respects that weekend. We met the owner and his 'crew' in front of the condo and they walked us through the building. After showing us the building's many amenities, and our room with panoramic views of English Bay, Granville Island and the city-scape, they accompanied us to the secure visitors parking area, handed us the keys and we headed out to explore and enjoy the sights in Richmond and Langley. So perfect was the weather that we did not return to the Condo until almost mid-night. On entering the condo that night - we were greeted by the glow and warmth of the fireplace and absolutely striking views of the water, the city lights and most gratifying of all...the tranquility of the condo. We both felt very pleased that we'd made the right choice and selected this particular VRBO rental.

We awoke the following morning to the picturesque view and yet another pleasant surprise - complimentary coffee, warm cream and breakfast snacks. We were very grateful to the owner for this unexpected 'cuppa joe' plus a snack to get us in gear for another day of sight-seeing. The great thing about this condo location was that we were able to stroll down to the ferry dock in less that 10 minutes and explore Granville Island, well before the tourists arrived. From this location, we took a ferry to Yaletown. Next we used the metro to visit Canada Place / Gas Lamp district. We returned to Yaletown at dusk and enjoyed a cool 15 minute stroll back to the condo. On our return, we were greeted warmly by the owner and were invited to share dinner and wine.

This condo is an undeniably unique place to vacation. We enjoyed easy access to action packed urban environs and we relished our peaceful nights overlooking the city. It is accessible to the very best of Vancouver. The owner is a 'very chill' guy who was welcoming yet respectful of our privacy.

PS: In 2013, we vacationed at another VRBO property in YALETOWN (unoccupied). The late night carousing in that neighborhood and street traffic /trash truck noises were very unappealing.
