Beautiful view from this spacious studio located above our detached garage near the Ferry Terminal. Studio room is furnished with Murphy queen size bed, sofa and love seat, small round table and chairs, small closet, refrigerator, microwave, and kuerig coffeemaker. Three-quarter bathroom with shower. Fresh clean towels and hair dryer provided. Flat screen TV and WiFi included. Located less than a 3/4 mile from the ferry terminal, 13mi from downtown, and 6mi from airport. Enjoy a short walk down to the beach where you can watch the porpoises, humpback whales, eagles, herons, plus more. Nearby (approx 2.5mi) are restaurants, bar, gas station, convenience store, and Auke Bay harbor where you can rent kayaks.
We have lived in Juneau for over 50 years (my husband moved here in the late 1960's and I was born and raised here). We very much enjoy being with our family and friends in this beautiful town and community.

We purchased this property in 1998, and we added the detached garage and studio in 2006. This location (Auke Bay) is one of the beautiful areas that receives less precipitation than other places in Juneau. Our place is clean and our neighbors are friendly. Beautiful view from the studio where you can watch the eagles and herons soar above the cove or perched up in a tree. You may see an occasional black bear hanging out in the cove too.
This is an ideal location where you can enjoy short walks, hiking trails, biking, or you can take a day trip on the Ferry to Haines or Skagway.
We loved this place! The pictures do not do it justice. It's so glamorous with the chalet-style windows, and the view is fantastic! The upstairs is plenty warm, and the bed was a very comfortable, firm bed. The area is quiet and close to a few restaurants and shops in Auke Bay. We would absolutely stay here again. The internet was really good-- enough for playing online games. We had more hot water at this place than we had at home. The fridge and the microwave were great. Everything was set up really comfortably and it felt so luxurious.
We stayed here over the weekend before we headed to Gustavus for a week. It was perfect for us as we explored the area and did some light hiking. So nice to stay away from the cruise line and city busy-ness but close enough to get meals in town.
This space fit us well. There are about a dozen stairs to reach it, however, once there, the apartment is a clean, bright, abundant space, with large windows overlooking Auk Bay. Be aware, the accommodations for cooking are minimal, there are a frig and microwave, ...no sink or stove, and few nearby restaurants. The owners were available and friendly. We had easy access to the ferry for a trip to Tracy Arms. Overall, this is a great spot for those who want to be near, but out of the city.
My friend and I came for a long weekend to get away from the hustle bustle of Houston, Texas, and we were completely blown away with the lovely accommodations here. The studio was extremely clean, the views were breathtaking, and Tom & Nelda were so sweet and accommodating. I highly recommend this for anyone who is looking to get away from the cruise ship tourist area, but it is still incredibly convenient to get to downtown Juneau or many nearby nature opportunities such as Auke Bay, hiking trails, and the ferries. We would definitely love to stay here again if we are even in the Juneau area.

This studio is a quiet, comfortable, and cozy place to stay. Tom and Nelda have done a nice job making this place nice for visitors. They greeted us when we arrived and made sure we had everything we needed or wanted. It was so nice to get away from the hustle and bustle of Juneau and stay in this quiet retreat. The binders with suggestions for things to do, places to eat, and shop were extremely helpful. Thanks for a great week! We would definitely stay with you again.
