Very Good

  • 4 of 5

This is a well-maintained cozy home, well-equipped to move right, relax and enjoy the town. We appreciated the thoughtful gestures, such as notepads, air fresheners, cookbooks, etc. The home was clean and stocked well with clean towels, etc. The walk to town is just a few blocks, and Dollar General down the street was very convenient. We even had home-away-from-home friendly cat in the yard nightly to welcome us! Highly recommend, would love to return.

Great place to enjoy Hot Springs!

  • 5 of 5

The Cozy Cottage was a perfect place for meeting my son, who was taking a rest day from his hike of the Appalachian Trail. The house was comfortable and clean, and it was within easy walking distance to all that Hot Springs has to offer. Melanie was responsive and helped us to easily gain access to the house. I would recommend it to anyone staying in Hot Springs!

One of the most enjoyed features is the front porch swing and the back outdoor fire pit with mountain views! Return soon!

A perfect place to stay in the Hot Springs area

  • 5 of 5

We were in the Hot Springs area visiting family and were lucky enough to stay in this little gem. The house is quaint and cozy and exactly where we needed to be. We were able to walk to the local shops and restaurants which was great. We will definitely stay there again.

Idyllic Cottage and Location

  • 4 of 5

Truly, a peaceful property within easy walking distance of downtown Hot Springs. The lovely back porch and yard provided a quiet and beautiful view, offering inspiration as I dabbled with my paints. I enjoyed the kitchen, brought my own pans but didn't need them! Everything was there and I love to cook. It was also nice to walk to dinner, walk to shop, walk to the trail and to the Hot Springs Spa...if you love to walk, this is the place for you! Wish I could have stayed longer.

Melanie was wonderful, easily accessible and helpful! The house was clean and well maintained. This property is easy to find and close to perfection. I'd suggest a couple of things. For me it wasn't an issue, but some people do enjoy television and don't bring their laptops on vacation. You might consider adding to the property description that a flat screen and HDMI cable are provided, for those interested in using their own subscription entertainment services to view television programming or movies. Also, a mattress upgrade would be nice. :)

Most people visiting Hot Springs spend more time outdoors, and if that's you, this is a wonderful get-away. I can't emphasize peace and quiet enough! It's nice to spend time with local shop owners, an outfitter is nearby with provisions for those spending time on the Appalachian Trail. I picked up a few things there and truly enjoyed shopping with a local gallery. Price points were wonderful!

I didn't cook evening meals, ate out. The Smoky Mountain Diner offers true, southern comfort food and their in-house meatloaf will not disappoint. Tried the veggie specialties at The Iron Horse, The Spring Creek Grill's pizza and locally sourced music was a blast. Loved the patio, it IS smoking, just so you're aware. Lots of breezes, wasn't an issue for me.

You'll want to make reservations with the Hot Spring Spa, for a late night soak! They also offer massage. The nightly soaks certainly help with sleep, I highly recommend them!

Occasionally, my mind would begin arranging furniture and imagine spending my retirement years in this house! As you can see, I would definitely return!

Owner's Response: Thanks for choosing Walnut Cottage and your wonderful detailed description of the cottage's features as well as highlights of Hot Springs attractions. What a most wonderful comment to say this is the place you would retire to...truly high accolades! The owners provide a large screen TV for streaming and this is listed as such but I will add extra alerts. Here tucked away in the mountains we have no TV service except satellite service. Thanks for the tips! Return soon, you are always welcome.
