About the property

2 Bedroom, 2 Bath Condo with mountain and garden views and close to the beach

Pali Ke Kua, a 22 acre condo resort is located in Princeville on the north shore of Kauai. Patterned after the Hawaiian style hale, it sits among broad expanses of lawn atop a 200’ bluff overlooking the vast Pacific.

This condo is #16 in Pali Ke Kua and is a 2BR/2BA split level end unit with no one above or below affording you extra privacy. Off the lanai is an expanse of lawn with a garden view of the Hanalei mountains as well as a peek-a-boo view of Hanalei Bay. Unlike most condos in the Princeville area, this one has a portable air conditioning unit , a welcome addition during the warmer months of the year plus a solar powered ceiling vent to help cool the loft.

The condo has a fully-equipped kitchen with new stainless steel appliances including an induction range. The bedrooms with their adjacent baths have a king and double size bed. Double and twin bed mats can be used for extra sleeping options. The condo is equipped with a telephone, ceiling fans in every room, a washer and dryer, hair dryers, ironing board and iron, beach chairs, boogie boards, snorkel gear, sand toys and coolers available for your use.

After a day of exploring Kauai’s north shore, enjoy a refreshing drink on the lanai taking in the pleasant trade winds. You will then know why Kauai is called Paradise.

Take a short stroll over to the 200’ bluff where you may see playing porpoises, humpback whales and a spectacular sunset over Bali Hai. A private paved path leads you down to the virtually private Hideaways beach where snorkeling is among the best on Kauai.

Amenities include a swimming pool, hot tub and restaurant. A short walk down the road will take you to the famous St. Regis Resort. Walk or drive to the Princeville Shopping Center where you will find all the comforts of home, including a market with pharmacy, post office, shops, restaurants, etc.

About John Dawson

My wife, Janice, spent her early years growing up in Hawaii and I'm a California boy. Our children and grand children are really looking forward to spending some time in this beautiful location on Kauai.

John Dawson purchased this condo in 2015

Why John Dawson chose Princeville

What I love the most about Pali Ke Kua is that it is vintage Hawaii, with Hawaiian hale styled condo and broad expanses of lawn. They don't make resorts like this anymore!

What makes this condo unique

One of the most unique benefits of Pali Ke Kua is the private paved path down the bluff to a secluded beach accessible only by this path. It's reported to have some of the best snorkeling in Kauai.

Another pleasant stay in Pali Ke Kua!

  • 5 of 5

A very relaxing stay in this condo which has everything you would need. Nicely updated appliances and a super comfy king size bed in the master. It was great to have the snorkel equipment, beach chairs & boogie boards. We really appreciated having plenty of fluffy towels & wash clothes too!

The kitchen had everything we needed as well.

Again, this complex was quiet & relaxing with amazing views and inviting pool & spa. The owners are very pleasant & easy to communicate with. Mahalo!

Nice place

  • 4 of 5

This property was clean and airy. The kitchen was well equipped and modern. The beds were quite uncomfortable for us as they were much harder than we prefer. The resort is nice although it would have been nice with a communal area overlooking the ocean. We somewhat missed sitting and staring at the ocean even though it was very close. The pool was nice. Overall we very much enjoyed our stay in beautiful Kauai.

This property is well maintained and in an excellent location.

  • 5 of 5

We were impressed by this property and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We were lucky enough to enjoy a week here. We cooked in most meals and found the kitchen and supplied cookware/glassware etc. to be well thought out and easily capable of enabling catering for our family of four.

The location is excellent. We walked the short distance to hideaway beach and Queen's bath on multiple occasions without fuss from our 10 or 13 year olds. The western bluff area is an excellent place to catch one of the most beautiful settings in the world looking over Hanalei Bay and down the Napali coast. Golf and tennis could hardly be closer. Hanalei Bay is a just a five minute drive with little and big Lumahai 5 minutes more down the same road.

There were ceiling fans in every possible location providing very good air circulation. The downstairs master was a very comfortable temperature while the upstairs could use a little more venting but was still a happy place for our two kids to sleep.

I don't know if this is always the case but there were several snorkels with masks left in the master closet as well as some beginner boogie boards. The boogie boards are not capable of handling much more than 1-2 ft waves but are perfect for floating around at little Lumahai etc.

Hideaways Pizza is the "on campus" restaurant. If you look on Yelp you may find poor reviews but we found the food and staff to be very good and were seated and served good beer, wine, and pizza quickly.

Perfect location and experience

  • 5 of 5

This is actually my second time staying at this location, glad I did. The property and location is perfect, walk to the beach or short drive to hanalei. I noticed the beach here has much better snorkeling than the supposed good spots off of Ke'e. No crowds, no driving, clearer water, much more fish. In fact, saw schools of fish and a turtle.

The owner has since added a portable AC unit, it helps a lot. Not powerful enough to get it very cold of course, but helps quite a bit and makes it nice and comfortable to come home too.

Also, the pizza place in the complex (maybe 200 feet away) is great, I don't remember it being so good.

Would highly recommend this rental to anybody traveling to Kauai.

This condo was ideal. Close to the St. Regis, but also a nice sense of privacy.

  • 5 of 5

Clean and well appointed, even with beach supplies. We were there for our son's wedding at The St. Regis, and even though it was just my husband and I staying there, it was great to have the extra space for the various comings and goings of guests. Would highly recommend to others.

Nice Condo, lovely grounds, weak A/C.

  • 4 of 5

Very nice condo , well equipped with beach chairs, etc, excellent kitchen, washer/dryer. Lovely grounds and just a few minutes walk to view incredible sunsets. Walking distance to St. Regis , and centrally located , close to all amenities in Princeville/Hanalei. Very helpful owner , who replaced a torn patio chair immediately. There is not much privacy upstairs of course as it is an open galery type bedroom. The bathrooms are great. The only drawback we found was the portable A/C which appears to be inadequate to cool the place on hot days. The upstairs bedroom (open loft) is particularly warm even with the A/C and fans on. If you are not bothered by lack of cold A/C the condo is a gem.
