Overview

About the property

Gorgeous, modern 5 Bed House located on the Slea Head drive & Wild Atlantic Way.

Newly refurbished 2,500 sq ft, 5 bed house located on the Wild Atlantic Way, the house overlooks Dingle Bay, the Blasket islands and Coumeenole beach. It is the westernmost spot in Europe. The surrounding views are absolutely stunning. In May 2016, it becomes a filming location for the new Star Wars movie, due to the spectacular cliffs at Dunmore head, which can clearly be seen from the house.

The Ring of Kerry, Killarney, Tralee, Kenmare are all within easy reach of here. It can also be used as a base for the cliffs of Moher and Cork.

It's a newly renovated house with some of the best views in Ireland, and arguably the best view on the whole Peninsula. You will not be disappointed. The house is finished to a high standard and has a large patio with outdoor furniture...perfect for watching the sunset over the Blasket Islands and the beach down below.

Watch the sea birds dive in the bay. Take a ferry to the Island....Or just sit by the fire and watch the waves crash on the cliffs below.

Perfect for long walks along the cliffs or a short stroll on the beach. Great for surfing, walking holidays, beach holidays and family get-togethers.

The entire house is yours

Large utility room can be used to store your bikes. The house sits on a site above coumeenole bay and is a short stroll from Slea Head.

The Blasket Islands are perfectly framed by large picture windows to the front of the house.

The house is on the Wild Atlantic Way - it's a 10 minute drive to Ballyferriter and a 20 minute drive to Dingle - recently voted Ireland's Top Foodie Town (2014). Why not visit one of the other Villages, such as Ballydavid, Ventry or Castlegregory. All are within easy reach.

Killarney is 1hr 20min away, Kenmare is 2Hrs.

The local links course is 10 minutes from the house (Ceann Sibeal).

There are c. 2000 archaeological sites on the peninsula.

It's as far west as you can go.... Car is essential. Bike great for exploring local area. Local taxi service also available.

About Lisa O'Shea

Hi, I'm Lisa. I'm from Killarney and married to Tomás, from Dingle. We love to travel afar, but equally love to tour around the Peninsula and take long mountain or beach walks nearby. We love to dine in one of the many fantastic restaurants in Dingle and Killarney, so we'd be happy to recommend a good Restaurant to you.

Lisa O'Shea purchased this house in 2013

Why Lisa O'Shea chose County Kerry

We bought this house from a relative as it is built on the old family farm, going back many generations. It is set on the last remaining bit of land in the family.

What makes this house unique

The view will blow you away! Looking out the window from the large Kitchen/Diner, sitting room and front bedroom, you will take in the most amazing view of the Blasket Islands, Slea head and Coumeenole beach. There is a spectacular view from every window in the house. Whether you are looking at the sea, the beach, Mount Eagle or simply the rural landscape. You have the most iconic Dingle Peninsula scenery right there in front of you!

Guestbook comments from the owner

This extremely comfortable house is in the most idyllic setting- ideal for a week away from it all, yet close enough to Dingle to benefit from all it has to offer. I was worried that it might be bleak in November but we had a wonderful week and thoroughly hope to return. Our city kids loved that they could see sheep, cows, ducks, chickens and even a goat from the windows of the house. And all of the adults were taken with the magnificent views of the Blasket islands. The house is warm and welcoming, as were the hosts.

Beautiful, comfortable home with amazing views of Dingle Harbor.

  • 5 of 5

Even though the weather during our stay prevented us from venturing out to enjoy the area, the house was beautifully furnished, very comfortable and the views of Dingle Bay from the house were so breathtakingly beautiful --- we were mesmerized watching the ocean. If we had to be house bound this was the perfect house--- we never grew tired of the views. The home has everything needed to make you feel at home. We truly felt very 'at home' and would return to rent again. I cannot think of a more comfortable place to stay while enjoying the Dingle area. It did not disappoint us and probably exceeded our expectations.

We couldn't have asked for a more perfect location. The home is large and comfortable. The owners were incredibly kind and responsive. This was definitely a 5 star ++ experience. I highly recommend it.

Stunning views, amazingly well equipped, lovely home

  • 5 of 5

We were delighted with our accommodations and more so with the stunning setting of this home on Slea Head Drive on the Dingle Peninsula.

We thoroughly enjoyed every minute of our stay and were blessed with great weather, and fabulous sunsets. Sheep on the lawn. We stayed in and cooked fabulous meals. Everything we needed was available at the Super Save in Dingle.

Our hosts were very responsive and answered all of our questions promptly.

Amazing views!

  • 5 of 5

We reserved this property for our family of 10 including adult children and 3 grandchildren. It was wonderful! The views are simply amazing and the photos cannot capture the incredible views from most rooms of the house. The kitchen is modern and well equipped. Recommend bringing food and supplies since the drive back to Dingle is 25-30 minutes. Be sure to check out the beach at Coumeenole - awesome and walk to the top of the hill for views of the other side - definitely a highlight and bonus view! We didn't have time to visit Blasket Island but would recommend at least visiting Dunqiin Pier for more amazing photos. Loved Dingle - only regret was we needed more time to spend here. Lisa and Tomas were readily available for guidance and any issues. Renting long distance and prepaying can be a bit unsettling but everything was just as presented and we highly recommend adding this to your "must do" list! Be sure to stop in Teac Couminole Cafe for warm apple pie and fresh cream. The owner Aileen is an artist and captures the local views beautifully!
