About Crystal and Blair Wilson

I originally grew up in NJ and spent summers on the farm. I moved to Colorado in the 80s and have returned over the years to help my parents take care of the place. Now my wife Crystal and I are in charge of keeping the place going. We run another vacation rental in Ward CO, high in the Rockies at 9000 ft. We also own the High Country Hemp Co which produces hemp seed oil body products.

Crystal and Blair Wilson purchased this farmhouse in 1933

Why Crystal and Blair Wilson chose Muncy Valley

I grew up spending summers on this farm. It taught me to appreciate nature. My Aunt and Uncle purchased the farm in the 30s and named it Slip Run Farm. They gradually purchased more land on the mountain but when they passed, my father bought the original tract from the estate sale and my Mom and him enjoyed the place up until his passing in 2010. The farm sat empty for 5 years until I realized that we needed to share this wonderful place. So begins a new chapter on the farm.

What makes this farmhouse unique

This place is like stepping back in time. The house is not fancy but has all the simple amenities. If you're looking for something modern with all of the distractions - This is not the place. If you're looking to slow down and experience being in nature on a farm that dates back to the 1800s, on a mountain rich with history, welcome home.

A Summer to Remember

  • 5 of 5

The beginning to the end of our stay at the Farmhouse was one of the most memorable experiences our family shared. The house is so charming and welcoming that we were happy after a full day out to come back to the wonderful screened porch where we shared home cooked meals from a fully stocked spacious and cozy kitchen. The beds were so comfortable and the decor was so beautiful in all of the rooms. The area surrounding the Farmhouse is one of most scenic and beautiful country we have ever experienced. We will definitely be back to share future cherished memories.

Just like home

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our 4-day stay. Each day we went exploring and returned to the farmhouse as if it were our home. We enjoyed the kitchen so much, we never ate out! The house was fun to explore and we enjoyed the decorations and artwork. Everything was clean. Loved the huge bathtub - great for soaking with bath salts after a day of hiking. Our dog felt comfortable, too! And, of course, the porch is awesome with the sun shining in during the afternoon and the sound of the creek trickling nearby. At night, a great fireplace was burning while we binge-watched Game of Thrones and devoured a few farmhouse-made Chocolate Rice Krispie treats! Thanks for sharing your farmhouse.

Great Family Weekend!

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed a very nice weekend with our family of four. We searched for a place to stay close to Ricketts Glen State Park (30-40 mins) and found this old farmhouse. The house is exactly as pictured and reminded us of trips "to the mountains" in our youth. Not fancy, but quaint and provides everything you need. A whole house for the price of a hotel room. The screened in porch is a great place to hang out. We spent most of our time there playing games and eating meals. We brought all our food for meals and found the kitchen stocked. Again, not new and fancy but everything we needed. If you don't like old cabinets with sticky drawers this place is not for you. We also bought some firewood on our way back from hiking and roasted hot dogs and made "mountain pies" over the fire. There is a fire pit in the field beside the house. One day we went to Ricketts Glen and hiked the Falls Trail, a beautilful 3 hour hike filled with waterfalls. The next day we went to Lake Jean and rented kayaks. We would definitely come back again if we get the chance.

Peaceful & serene!

  • 5 of 5

We feel like we have found a diamond in the rough with this beautiful old farmhouse! We were searching high & low to find a place to stay that was close enough to our family cabins and stumbled across this listing on HomeAway. We were stunned by the proximity...only two miles from the cabins....and the affordability! My husband and I were the only ones staying at the house this time, but there was certainly room for a large family gathering.

The minute you walk in the door you are greeted by the large, lovely kitchen with all of the amenities you need, and the awesome screen porch that puts you right into the woods. We spent a lot of mornings drinking coffee and listening to the babbling stream right beside the porch. I even had a deer come down to get a drink while I was enjoying my morning!

We will definitely be staying here again in the future as our family gets together regularly and we travel out to PA from IL. It truly felt like a home away from home for me since I grew up in a two-story farmhouse in rural IL.

Thanks again for opening up this lovely home for all of us to enjoy!

Check out Ricketts Glenn and it's amazing waterfalls. World's End State Park is great to hike in and the Hole in the Sock is a really good swimming hole. The Antique Car and Airplane Museum outside Eagles Mere is a lot of fun and informative.
