About Julia Hilton, Bonnie Talbot

Ken Hilton is the owner of Lost Palms and coming soon, The Hilton. He bought Lost Palms in June of 2015 from the previous owners, looking for a quiet, beachfront retreat for himself and his dog, Boss. When he saw how many families were also enjoying Lost Palms, he decided to keep the rental program going. Loving the Gulf Coast lifestyle, Ken decided he would build another house right next door to Lost Palms to accommodate larger families, calling the new beachfront paradise The Hilton. Feel free to say hi if you see Ken walking Boss along the beach or cruising through Surfside Shores in his motorcoach.

Christmas at the Beach!

  • 5 of 5

We have been home for a week from our wonderful "Christmas at the Beach" vacation (something I have always wanted to do) and we miss Lost Palms already. The house is comfortable and cozy with everything you need for a nice stay. The entire front of the house has large windows for a panoramic view of the ocean. The pugs and I spent a lot of time reading in the bay window seat. God blessed us with amazing weather for our week. It was in the mid to high 70s every day, but the last two and those were 60s. I found over 75 sand dollars on the beach on Christmas day! Talk about excited! Around the area, we ate a LuLu's, Tacky Jack's, and The Oyster House (our personal fave). Call ahead to Tacky Jack's to ask about the specials that are on the fridge....they were not running specials the week we were there. No biggie, but be prepared. :-) We explored Fort Morgan, spent a day on Dauphin Island and walked West Beach for hours. Gorgeous! Found HUGE sea shells. The ferry closed due to high winds on the Bay when we were over there so we had to take the bridge into Mobile and drive around to get back. However, that opened the opportunity to explore the U.S.S. Alabama. We were fortunate enough to meet Julia on our arrival, who is just a sweetheart of a girl. Later in the week, we had another blessing of getting to meet the owner, Ken, and enjoyed every minute of it. Our only regret is that we were making Low Country Shrimp Boil for supper and both of us said as we were making it, "we should have asked him to stay for supper". A decision we regretted thinking of too late because he was a very interesting man to talk to. We loved everything about this rental and have high hopes of returning again. I took over 2000 photos! Thanks for sharing such a beautiful and surreal beach house with others.

Great time at the beach! We feel refreshed!

  • 4 of 5

Loved our time at Lost Palms! Finding a place, reserving, and all the pre-trip planning was so easy with them. They responded in less than 24 hours. We loved being right on the beach! Every night on the porch we got a sunset -it was very relaxing! We loved the walks on the beach to see the other houses, and really enjoyed the close-by restaurants. Wifi and Direct worked the entire problem -no glitches. They were flexible with our scheduling, and really appreciative to the workers next door. They waited until a decent hour to start pounding and sawing. Thank you. We will definitely look at staying at Lost Palms again.

Great Vacation House

  • 5 of 5

The property was exactly as the pictures describe. This was a great house and the beach was just steps away from the deck. So relaxing and the house is supplied with everything you could need. We definitely want to do this again next year. We were looking for a quiet relaxing place and we found it. No worries to be found here....just an all around pleasurable experience.

Wonderful Vacation Spot!

  • 5 of 5

What a location! There was always a bit of shade on the deck so we could spend most of our days outside, listening to the roaring surf (thanks to Hermine). The deck was secure with the gate, so the dogs could wander freely, and I was able to read books and completely relax . It was heaven. The weather was great, and we have already discussed the possibility of coming back again, yet this fall. There is even a crockpot, so I will be bringing my favorite recipes when we return! Thanks, Julia!
