We were actually in the "off street" portion of this house (5540). Not advertised that way, but still a wonderful property. Close to the beach and the village which made day time fun and night time fun very accessible. The pool is nice and worked very well for those off beach times. The house is equipped better than any we have rented, with bikes, beach towels and chairs and umbrellas. We had great neighbors that week which also made for a perfect Siesta week. The only negative is the pull out couch. If anyone other than a child is going to call that their bed for the week, be prepared for a bad back. We used it one night and bought an air mattress for the floor.
We a had a very good week at the Casa de Mariposa, short distance to the beach where we stayed most of the time. Personal favorite were the beach equipment accessories and the welcome gift.
Second time we rented in the area ( around the Palm Island area) and we found the house and location perfect for what we like to do- walk to beach and walk to town

I rented the townhouse for a family reunion. I live in Sarasota, but my home is too small for the 6 of us, and we wanted to be on or close to the beach, and near Siesta Village. This place has a fantastic location. Directly across from Beach Access # 10, which is almost like your own private beach, since there is no public parking there. We enjoyed walks on the beach, sunsets, and sunbathing. The proximity to the village was great for shopping , and dining, and a real treat for my nephew who turned 21yrs. during our stay! The pool area is really much bigger than the pictures on the web site show, and it was comfortable sharing with the folks in the other half of the town house.... we were rarely there at the same time. The grill was great for barbecues.
Only a couple of minor negatives..... we used the pull out sofa for sleeping, and there was only a bottom sheet, but no top sheet for the pull out bed. Also, we had to use a "plumbers helper" a couple of times on the toilet in master bath, and once on the garbage disposal.
I would definitely recommend this property, and should we have another reunion in Sarasota, I would book again.
