After living in SE Portland for almost 20 years, we now call Milwaukie our home and we love it. It is the perfect blend of new and old Portland. Our neighborhood is quiet, but if you need a little excitement and don't want to wait in lines in Portland, you can take an easy stroll to downtown Milwaukie for a bite to eat or spend hours looking through all the selections at the Beer Store Milwaukie. There are four cafes to choose from, a food cart pod, Dark Horse Comic headquarters and many other great shops. In the summer you can enjoy Milwaukie Farmers Market, one of the best farmers markets around. There is also a short hiking trail about a half a mile away as well as Milwaukie Bay Park and Elk Rock Island.
Trimet's Orange MAX line is less than a mile away and is your ticket to the many neighborhoods of Portland and the far reaches of the greater metro area, including the airport. You can also catch a Trimet bus just down the street and take it north to Portland and the boutiques, east to the Mall, or south to Willamette Falls in Oregon City.
