Apartment in an Traders house from 1856. This 2 bedroom apartment has the original floors, a full Bathroom and an extra large kitchen. The kitchen opens up to a fieldstone patio. There are two converted gas fireplaces in the apartment as well. It is presently being painted and decorated so the pictures are from when I lived there personally. We are converting it from a yearly rental to a vacation rental.
My wife and I bought this house before we were married and worked on it with our own hands. We would work in one area and live in another until the whole house was done. I grew up about 5 minutes away, so I know the area very well. My wife and I work as fencing coaches about 10 minutes away .My wife and I were married in at the "Friary" which is next door.
Jeff Salmon purchased this apartment in 2001
We live next door in an old church that we are renovating. When we first bought it, it was quite dilapidated, but with many years of hard work we were able renovate it and retain the history.
I love this house and the area. It has everything accessible but it feels like you are away from it all.
We (family of 3) stayed at the apartment for a longer period and immediately felt at home. It is very spacious and beautiful and has access to a private patio and the garden of the house. Fully and tastefully furnished, everything provided for a comfortable stay. Very close to the shore, with lots of nature around, but also close to Port Jefferson. And, not to forget, Jeff was a wonderful host, extremely helpful and friendly. I would definitely recommend this place for a stay on Long Island!
