Mostly good
All good except we could have been given more toilet paper and soap - both of which ran out and it seemed trite to keep phone the manager for small things so we bought our own.

Great location.
This house is in an excellent location for exploring the wonderful, twisty streets of Bruges. Just step out of the door and wander the beautiful streets and canals of the city. It is a short walk into the centre, there is a great bakery and a supermarket within five minutes walk. There are lots of cafes, bars and restaurants within easy walk. When you've thoroughly explored the city, there are lots of nice trips to make out of Bruges... We cycled out of the city along beautiful canals into bucolic countryside and out to the seaside. The village of Damm is definitely worth a trip out to. We also took the train to Ghent, which is a beautiful city with a great castle to explore. The house is comfortable with everything you need to feel at home. The only thing I'd point out is that the stairs would be a real challenge to less physically able people. It was fine for us, a family with teenage children, but my elderly parents would have struggled. We didn't have any problems with the hot water as mentioned in other reviews; we loved the deep bath, especially after a long day of cycling! The little garden is really nice for sitting out to eat or drink at any time of the day. The man who let us in was friendly and helpful, and he gave good advice about parking. You can park unlimited for free a short walk away on the ring road. We didn't need anything, but the owner and the man who let us in were clear that we should contact them if we needed any help. We didn't understand what to do with the recycling, so I'm sure we got it wrong! Overall I would recommend this house as a comfortable, well located and friendly place to stay.

Quaint house
Nice old house close to the centre of Bruges. As other reviews have mentioned, the attic bedroom is accessed by a ladder/stairs from the second bedroom so isn't suitable for anybody tall or non-athletic! My 10 year old daughter liked it and had no problems getting up or down. A bit dated inside and a few drips from taps etc. but everything worked fine. The noise of the traffic on cobbles at the front of the house can be a bit surprising, but the main bedroom is at the back of the house and didn't suffer from that. Lounge/dining room was large with lots of seating, TV, etc. Owner welcomed us and gave us some good tips on how to get into the city centre, nearest supermarket, etc. Great value for a short break in Bruges.

Lovely Character Property
This was our second stay at Acadia and we enjoyed it as much as the first. The property is nicely furnished and well equipped, the sofas had been replaced since our first visit and were very comfortable. This is a typical old Flemish house in a street close to the centre, 10 minutes walk to the Market Square, so very convenient for sight seeing. The only down side is that you cannot park outside the property for any length of time, but there is parking in the streets nearby. You will need an international blue parking disc which can be purchased from Amazon and will need to move the car from time to time. Thank again Noel for a lovely visit to Bruges.

Lovely Old House
There was five of us, myself and my husband plus my two teenage daughters one with boyfriend We loved the house, full of charm and character. The downstairs space worked well for us but we found the upstairs more challenging. By the description we thought that the attic room was a separate room leading via a staircase from one of the double bedrooms. It is in fact a mezzanine floor via a ladder. This worked fine once my 15 year old had been up and down a few times and she loved the space and the view but it certainly wouldn't suit anyone that was afraid of heights or a young child. The master bedroom was lovely and the second bedroom under the mezzanine adequate. The bed was small but comfy. The main drawback in the second bedroom was space. There wasn't any. No space for a chest of drawers or any shelves only a moveable hanging rail. If we had kept it where it was I would not have been able to get out of my side of the bed, move it 4inches to the left and my daughter couldn't get down the ladder. In the end we banished it to the bathroom! I had rejected many houses in Bruges because I thought that our party size couldn't cope with only one toilet for the week so I was glad to see that this one had a bathroom with a separate toilet. I didn't realise that there was no toilet in the bathroom! Never mind we managed. It was worth it to have a lovely house in a lovely quiet part of Bruges. It is a shame about the parking now, you can unload but then have to park at the station which is a half an hour walk away but really when you are in Bruges a car isn't necessary and we didn't miss it at all. There is a good supermarket barely 10 minutes away (you could get there and back in about the time it took the kettle to boil?!) and a bakery closer still. I would definitely recommend this house for a weeks stay.
