located in the heart of the NH lakes region, enjoy this waterfront cottage in the secluded, and quiet basin area of 600 acre Pine River Pond. Close to North Conway, Wolfeboro and Portsmouth. Swimming, boating, kayaking fishing, hiking, shopping and golf are activities you can enjoy during your stay. Enjoy cool nights on the wraparound deck overlooking the water or enjoy relaxing around the fire and cooking s'mores with family and friends.. Canoe, kayak or boat to the many islands or sandbars around the lake. Lots of native wildlife to enjoy along a backdrop of mountains and fresh air.
Would definitely recommend a stay here if you are seeking a peaceful and relaxing way to vacation. The small lake on which the home is located had an outlet to the larger lake nearby, and both a rowboat and canoe were provided. In addition, a gas barbecue and a fire pit made outdoor living most enjoyable. The cottage was clean throughout, and the kitchen had all the comforts of home. We took a short side trip to "The Castle in the Clouds" and it was well worth it. Overall, it was a very pleasant Labor Day weekend stay for the three of us. The only downside was having to rush to leave because the owner had scheduled a showing of the house (of which we had not been informed until a half-hour before the appointment), since he is now trying to sell the property.
The location and layout of the property was exactly what we were expecting. The house was right on the pond and had a nice deck in the back overlooking the water.
I found that the house could of been cleaner when we arrived. When I rent a property I do expect it to be professionally cleaned like every other place I've rented. The house did have all the amenities we needed, including a grill that was very convenient so we didn't need to leave the house for meals.
The owner did unexpectedly show up the first morning to take out the trash which seemed a little odd to me. I usually prefer not to be bothered, but he gave us some good places to visit etc. The only other issue was we had a couple friends visit for the day and the neighbors complained that we were loud at 730 pm which I think is ridiculous.
I would recommend this spot for anyone looking for a quiet relaxing weekend.
What a perfect way to recharge. A friend and I did a "girls getaway" and took our dogs as well. We had a fantastic time. The dogs were in the pond jumping off the docks all day long. We enjoyed heading out to the bigger part of the pond for sunset. Unbelievably relaxing.
We stayed a couple of days at Don's cottage. Loved every minute of it. Just wished the weather had cooperated a bit. Don was very friendly and really made our stay comfortable. They have a wonderful setup especially if you are looking for some downtime with family. My kids spent most of their time in the canoe that they have and was really hard to make them come back inside even when it rained. Overall great experience and we hope to be back there soon.
This property was a great location, easy to get to but secluded to where you felt like it was only you. The cottage had ample space for 6 of us to be able to have our own space and not feel like we were on top of each other plus all the amenities that you would need. Perfect spot to disconnect and just enjoy the lake, the views and the comforts.
