525 s.f. apartment with modern style & new furnishings, big bright yet private windows. Quiet neighborhood with lots of street parking, easy access to open space for hiking or bus to campus/downtown/dining. Fully furnished kitchen except for stove, table for four. Queen bed, good reading light as well as dramatic accent lighting. You'll be surprised at all the little extras in kitchen and bath that will make you feel right at home!

Access to apartment is via front door of owner's house. It's a bi-level house so when you enter you're already in the stairwell, not passing through our living space. We live upstairs. The apartment is downstairs and enclosed for privacy. You receive a code for the front door giving you access any time of the day or night.

About Linda Cowan

Linda arrived in Boulder in 1956, age 10. After many comings and goings over the years and a career in commercial interior design, Linda moved back to Boulder in 1995 with Jeff and their then 10-year-old son, Ethan. Jeff worked at NCAR in super computer administration until retiring in 2013. Now we are putterers, Linda in the garden, Jeff in his woodworking shop. We love Boulder and our Golden Retriever, Wylie, and try to go to a movie every Tuesday when it's a bargain. Linda loves opera, Jeff loves jazz.

Why Linda Cowan chose Boulder

In 1995 we wanted to move to Boulder to be near Linda's parents and get away from the Silicon Valley rat race. Linda scouted houses in every part of town, looking (listening!) primarily to avoid traffic noise and enjoy good south sunlight. This neighborhood is is the quietest! It also has Open Space to the west and south so that it can't expand in a way that requires new roads! It turns out this is the only place we've lived where we know our neighbors and they know us!

What makes this apartment unique

The first time I walked up the stairs into this bi-level home I was grabbed by the light and knew this was the one. Walking on nearby mountain park trails is a major perk.

Linda, Jeff, and their sweet dog Wylie were such kind and generous hosts, and they had thought of everything someone might need to be comfortable in this cozy, nicely decorated apartment. All of the information Linda provided about everything from how to get to the house to how appliances worked was clear and complete. The location is very convenient, and the neighborhood is quiet and pleasant. This place would be great for someone traveling on his/her own (as I was) or for a couple. I very much hope to be able to stay here again in the future--this time with my husband!

I am so glad I found such a welcoming home away from home for my frequent short visits to Boulder. Linda is a gracious person and apparently has given much thought in providing every little thing to make her guests comfortable.

Very nice basement apartment. Well maintained, clean, and comfortable.

We stayed four nights in this VRBO and had an excellent experience. So much nicer than a hotel, easy entry/access, close to hiking trails, everything you could need included, even laundry facilities. Very reasonably priced, a quiet neighborhood. Hosts are friendly yet give total freedom to come/go. We will certainly stay here again when we return to visit our son in Boulder.

Comfy Boulder Apt close to trails

This one bedroom apartment was a pleasure to stay in. It was clean, comfortable and had plenty of space for two people. The bed was comfortable, the temperature was comfortable, and the kitchen was stocked with basic supplies such as spices, sugar, etc. I was a little worried about staying in the same house as the owners but it was very quiet and you didn't even know that they were there. It was so much nicer than staying at a hotel. I would absolutely stay there again. The house's location was also perfect as it was close to many foothill's trails and just a very pleasant neighborhood. Linda was also very good with answering questions and showing us everything in the apartment. Just a totally good experience.
