I am a retired firefighter and my wife is also retired. We are now folk artists and travel to sell our low country folk art (some of our art is used to decorate our lake cottage). We enjoy sharing our lake place with others.
The Owner purchased this cottage in 2008
This property sits on over one acre and is on a peaceful cove with deep water. We have a beautiful pvc dock and boat ramp to launch your boat or jet skies.
Good location with dock & boat ramp. Also near many boat landings, Dreher Island State Park, Lexington. It has central heat and air, patio on the lakeside, king-size bed.
This is a nice well kept up Cottage on Lake Murray. This is the first cabin rental I've been to that felt like a home away from home. Bruce and Lin are the best host you could ever have and I thank them so much for making this vacation so joyous. I have to admit, I was shocked on how well this cottage was structured on the inside and how nice the patio was designed. All your linens are cleaned, the appliances are well maintained, and the bed slept extremely good. They don't have Wi-Fi or a T.V inside the cottage which is kind of awkward but we didn't mind it since I brought my laptop and watched movies off of it. If a T.V is a must for you then you need to debate about staying here. They have a beautiful dock on the lake that is built with PVC. This made fishing and swimming off the deck very comfortable since it was a 100 degrees outside. We were walking barefooted on the deck and it wasn't hot at all. This property is located just a few miles from 50-50 sports where we spent most of our Saturday. We rode jet skies, ate dinner, and intertwined with other visitors there. I would recommend this property to anyone. Me and my girlfriend really enjoyed ourselves and will be back whenever we can.
We are all about 'the lake' & this place had a very nice dock w/ladder, good swimming area and nice quiet cove. A++ for the lake! The cabin is actually a partitioned side of a pole barn, so there are no windows, but that being said . . . It was very roomy & comfy, decorated with a lakey feel and had ample supplies of anything you may have forgotten. The king size bed was extremely comfortable and we slept in late (8 AM is late for us!!) We spent most of our time on the front porch which was very protected but you still had an awesome view of the lake. Although there was no wifi, we could get a signal on the porch & caught up on messages and calls out there. We did not miss having a TV . . . We brought DVDs in case if we had a complete rain out, but we didn't even watch them on the 1 rainy afternoon we had. This place is in one of the prettiest settings I've seen. We walked 4 miles each day (our exercise routine) and found it to be a very low traffic area and we even saw several deer on our walks. The owners, Lin & Bruce, were excellent hosts and even let us stay past checkout since we did have that one rainy day. We are looking to buy our retirement home on this lake and will definitely look to stay here again, if the need arises. Wonderful little piece of paradise :)
What a real gem of a place! The cottage was the perfect size for our family. My husband, daughter and myself enjoyed a few days at this property and it was truly perfect. The peace and quite, the wildlife, and the coziness of the cottage was just what we needed. Mr. Bruce and Mrs. Lin were wonderful to work with and they were both very accommodating, and after meeting them they felt like instant friends! We will definitely be back to share their cottage and we highly recommend this property!

We rented the property during Masters week while my husband was working in Augusta, GA because there was nothing available in Augusta. Turns out that was in our favor, because I had a great time staying here. He only had about an hour drive while I stayed by the Lake enjoying the beautiful views, lying on the dock in the sun. The weather didn't always cooperate but the first day I actually did get into the water a little bit. I can see in the summer spending all day in the water with the turtles. It was so quiet, I had time to slow life down a bit for that week. Didn't really miss the electronics, we had downloaded a few shows to the computer and brought our TV to connect at night since it was still quite chilly after the sun went down. We ate dinner outside every evening, and watched the deer walk through the yard enjoying their evening meal as well. One night before we knew it we had watched them for half an hour, it is hard to be quiet that long!! I would come back here in a minute, I can even see retiring in a place like this, it was fabulous. Everything we needed to cook our meals each day, gas grill on the porch, bed was super comfy, and the surrounding area was completely safe for my bicycle rides each day. Thank you so much to the Davis family for sharing their property, we had a great time and would love to come back when my hubby can actually hang out and enjoy the water.
Thanks so much for the great accomodations we enjoyed with your cottage. There was plenty of room for the two of us and we even had nine people total for Thanksgiving meal!! Unfortunately, our meal was late in the day so we could not enjoy our meal outdoors, but we still had a great evening. And we no sooner mentioned to our family that we'd been seeing deer in the yard then we looked out and five small deer were grazing within fifty yards of our cottage! Every evening was like that; what a blessing. We really loved the wall decor and the atmosphere was very inviting. Though the cottage was small, with one bedroom, it was really super for us. The only drawback, no t.v. reception, did not effect us too much, as we brought along a small t.v., dvd player, and movies!! As an added thought, we caught fish even though it was late November and early December, even had a fish-fry one night. All in all, our time with your cottage was a memorable experience and we'll most definitely be in touch again with you at a later time. Thanks for stopping by to check on us and we enjoyed your visit, even though you did not want to interfere with our vacation. Please know that your visit was a pleasant time for us. Blessings to you both! Greenville, Ohio
My husband, daughter, and I had the privilege of staying at this beautiful property for a fishing tournament. The boat ramp and dock are just the beginning of what I loved about it. The cottage is just as lovely and the owners are the nicest people you could meet (not to mention talented). Ask them about the paintings and art in the cottage. Beautiful artwork!
Also, let me say it states that the cottage isn't suitable for kids because there isn't a tv or Internet but we had our 11 yr old daughter with us, and she never missed either. Fantastic place to get away from sitting at the computer and start sitting on the front deck and enjoying nature and everything this place has. I would definitely tell anyone to rent this property.
