Overview

About the property

Private Entrance, Attached To A Family Home In Beautiful Hampstead.

Please read all the information I have provided here before you ask for information on travel and amenities etc.

A lovely bright double bedroom with loads of wardrobe space. It has a mini kitchenette, private en-suit bathroom with shower and its own private entrance, door bell and undercover porch.

It is situated in leafy, historic Hampstead, on a quiet residential street 2 minutes walk to the wild open space of the famous Hampstead Heath and the manicured Golders Hill Park, both have lovely cafes/restaurants.

The room is entirely private from the rest of the family house.

My check in time is 2pm and check out time is 11am. I can be flexible with these times if you ask me.

The house is a 5 min walk to the Finchely Road, with a constant steam of buses to Finchely Road Tube Station (the Jubilee line and Metropolitan line) from here it is about a 10 minute ride into the centre of town. The buses also go straight into London's West End, central London. It is a 30 bus ride from my house to Oxford Street. The busses also go to the main line station of Finchely and Frognal which has overground trains that go all over London. My house is 15 - 20 mins walk from Hampstead tube station. This tube station is on the Northern line. It is a 15 min tube ride to Leicester Square. There is a very clear map provided on this site, where you can see all the tube stations. Laminated maps to local shops, cafes, bus stops/tube stations and so forth are provided by me in the room.

The mini kitchenette comprises of a toaster, microwave, fridge, kettle, crockery, cutlery and glasses. The fridge is stocked with the basics when you arrive.

There is free WiFi, cable television with all sport and movie channels, flat screen TV and an iPod dock. There is also an inflatable mattress in the cupboard that can be used for a child, there is a £30 fee for a child.

Clean towels, bed linen and dressing gowns are provided and can be changed if needed (for a fee). The room can be cleaned during your stay, with the sheets and towels changed (£30) and laundry done if needed. (£10 per load of laundry) Washed and dried, not ironed.

The room has plenty of storage space, a full wall of empty cupboards. There is a heated electric towel rail in the shower room and underfloor heating in the bedroom if needed, along with a radiator and blow heater/fan. There is also a de-humidifyer to use after showering.

Shower gel and shampoo are provided. A hair drier is also provided in the cupboard over the bed. There are two folding chairs and a table in the wardrobe. These are lovely to use in the warmer months outside on the covered porch.

About Georgia Slowe

I have lived in this area most of my life. I live here with my partner, dog and my two sons, when they are home from university.

Georgia Slowe purchased this studio in 2001

Why Georgia Slowe chose Camden & Covent Garden

I love my home, it is so close to the wild open space of Hampstead Heath, the most beautiful park land in London and yet only a short tube, bus or cab ride, right into the centre of town. You can feel as if you are in the countryside one moment and the next in the heart of London's west end, with all the theatres and galleries, museums and restaurants, bars and night clubs.

What makes this studio unique

This room is totally private with its own entrance and bathroom and yet you are still connected to a friendly family home. Hampstead is a beautiful and historic part of London dating back over 500 years.

A cozy, quiet apartment

  • 5 of 5

We truly enjoyed our stay in the cozy attached one room apartment. The owner had everything to make our stay comfortable. We enjoyed visiting with the owner who was very nice and helpful! This location is a few miles out of the heart of London but has great transportation near by (buy an oyster card for the bus and rail system). The neighborhood was very beautiful and quiet.

A Good Fit for Me and My Dog

  • 4 of 5

I came to London to pick up a dog. This was the perfect location for me to become acquainted with the dog. It was within an easy walking distance to the park and to amenities such as the tube station and pubs and restaurants for meals. The room was compact and had everything I needed. I felt very welcome. I was pleased with my stay.

A Small Jewel

  • 4 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay at Georgia's tiny studio tucked away in Hampstead Heath. Georgia is a thoughtful and caring host and we found the studio fitted for our needs well. It is well appointed and has some lovely touches such as comfortable bath robes and a generous supply of breakfast needs. No doubt it is small, but in nice weather there is an opportunity to set up the table on a small terrace, although it was quite cold while we were there. It is in a quiet, private location and is about 5 minutes walking distance from Finchley road which has a constant stream of buses and taxis to chose from. We are both in our mid-60s and don't mind a little walking, so it was no problem.About 10 minutes walk brings you to many restaurants, groceries and pubs. The Heath itself is a short walk up the hill from your studio. It is a fascinating, lovely area and provides access to other interesting neighbourhoods such as Highgate which is very worthwhile exploring.

A peacefull place to stay in London

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time in London and the serenity of this private room was exactly what we needed after a long day walking across the city.

The bed was very comfy and the room had everything required for a short stay in London.

If you're used to public transportation in London, you can quickly reach a bus stop or Hampstead metro station (with a nice walk along West Heath park) and be in Camden town within a few minutes to eat a classic Fish and Chips.

Every other details you need to know are in the description except the kindness of our host which is always appreciated when you travel far from home.

Definitely a good address to know in London !

Wonderful

  • 5 of 5

Perfect for a single person, perhaps a bit small for a couple. It doable. Very well stocked, including with milk, bread, butter, jam, tea, sugar, etc. Fridge, toaster, microwave, kettle all provided.

I love using London transport and I'm not intimidated by it (use Google Maps!) but if you don't like having to use a mix of bus and underground to get anywhere, note that the room is not in "downtown" London by all of the big sites. But it is in a lovely quiet neighborhood.

Note, room shares a wall with the family, so there is some noise. Didn't bother me, only I tried not to be loud! Bed is very comfy.

Would stay here again, definitely.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review Lindsey. I'm sorry you could hear the family, we had a big dinner during your stay, though there are two walls and a larder between your room and our space so I'm surprised. You can play music or whatever as loud as you want, no sound comes through this way. We look forward to having you to stay again in the future.

Lovely stay

  • 5 of 5

Everything was just as described, warm and comfortable and very well appointed including fresh fruit and delicious bread and other treats which came in handy when I didn't have time to stop at a shop. Once I got the hang of the bus and tube system it was convenient and pleasant to find myself in a very nice residential neighborhood at the end of the day. Terrific!

Location

Car: not necessary

Hampstead Village is over 500 years old with many beautiful attractions. Keats House, Fenton House, Burgh House, Freud Museum - to name but a few of the sights to see. The famous Hampstead Heath is a two minute walk from my house and is the loveliest park-land in London. A walk across the Heath and you come to Kenwood House with its art gallery and Restaurant - with many gastro pubs along the way. I provide maps with routes to Hampstead Village and the local stations and bus stops and shops.
