A lovely bright double bedroom with loads of wardrobe space. It has a mini kitchenette, private en-suit bathroom with shower and its own private entrance, door bell and undercover porch.
It is situated in leafy, historic Hampstead, on a quiet residential street 2 minutes walk to the wild open space of the famous Hampstead Heath and the manicured Golders Hill Park, both have lovely cafes/restaurants.
The room is entirely private from the rest of the family house.
My check in time is 2pm and check out time is 11am. I can be flexible with these times if you ask me.
The house is a 5 min walk to the Finchely Road, with a constant steam of buses to Finchely Road Tube Station (the Jubilee line and Metropolitan line) from here it is about a 10 minute ride into the centre of town. The buses also go straight into London's West End, central London. It is a 30 bus ride from my house to Oxford Street. The busses also go to the main line station of Finchely and Frognal which has overground trains that go all over London. My house is 15 - 20 mins walk from Hampstead tube station. This tube station is on the Northern line. It is a 15 min tube ride to Leicester Square. There is a very clear map provided on this site, where you can see all the tube stations. Laminated maps to local shops, cafes, bus stops/tube stations and so forth are provided by me in the room.
The mini kitchenette comprises of a toaster, microwave, fridge, kettle, crockery, cutlery and glasses. The fridge is stocked with the basics when you arrive.
There is free WiFi, cable television with all sport and movie channels, flat screen TV and an iPod dock. There is also an inflatable mattress in the cupboard that can be used for a child, there is a £30 fee for a child.
Clean towels, bed linen and dressing gowns are provided and can be changed if needed (for a fee). The room can be cleaned during your stay, with the sheets and towels changed (£30) and laundry done if needed. (£10 per load of laundry) Washed and dried, not ironed.
The room has plenty of storage space, a full wall of empty cupboards. There is a heated electric towel rail in the shower room and underfloor heating in the bedroom if needed, along with a radiator and blow heater/fan. There is also a de-humidifyer to use after showering.
Shower gel and shampoo are provided. A hair drier is also provided in the cupboard over the bed. There are two folding chairs and a table in the wardrobe. These are lovely to use in the warmer months outside on the covered porch.
I have lived in this area most of my life. I live here with my partner, dog and my two sons, when they are home from university.
Georgia Slowe purchased this studio in 2001
I love my home, it is so close to the wild open space of Hampstead Heath, the most beautiful park land in London and yet only a short tube, bus or cab ride, right into the centre of town. You can feel as if you are in the countryside one moment and the next in the heart of London's west end, with all the theatres and galleries, museums and restaurants, bars and night clubs.
This room is totally private with its own entrance and bathroom and yet you are still connected to a friendly family home. Hampstead is a beautiful and historic part of London dating back over 500 years.
Georgia was very nice and accommodating. The room was very clean and quiet which was very important to my wife as she was a light sleeper. The place was about a 5-minute walk to bus stations, and a few stops to reach tube stations.
This apartment was everything we needed for our 4 night stay in London. It's located just a short bus/tube ride outside of central London, in a peaceful and charming neighborhood. We very much appreciated the tea and coffee and some additional snack/breakfast items. Also, you're only a very short walk to Hampstead Heath which is lovely for exploring. I highly recommend this apartment for the location and the value.
We loved our stay in Hampstead Heath and the room is exactly as pictured. It was clean and well supplied with everything we needed and more. The fridge was loaded with goodies for and we had breakfast every day before leaving, including real coffee. Having a housecoat, slippers, hair dryer, body care products, power converters for our Canadian plugs etc supplied was very useful as we travelled with just a carry-on.
The neighbourhood is wonderful and great to stroll through. It's just a few minutes walk to a bus stop where you can take a bus directly to Marble Arch. Coming home late at night is not a problem and the area is very quiet and safe.
What we loved nearby: Walking on the Heath, visiting Kenwood House (loved it!), Old Hampstead, roast lamb and Yorkshire pudding at the Holly Bush pub, counting Porsches and other lovely cars as we walked through the neighbourhood... We would definitely go back, excellent value for money.
Georgia was wonderful, responding immediately to every email I sent and was prompt in returning the security deposit.
The room was very comfortable and Georgia and family were wonderful hosts with travel maps and helpful ideas for what to see beyond the traditional London sights. Easy walkable access to frequent buses and tube stations. Quiet, lovely neighborhood just a few steps from Hampstead Heath - a London gem that many visitors probably are unaware of or don't have the time to visit.
We had a couple of favorite eating places, out of several excellent places we dined. We found Papa's Cafe the first day and enjoyed an excellent full English breakfast almost every morning (only open for breakfast and lunch). We also enjoyed Ye Olde Swiss Cottage, which is situated at a tube stop along the main bus lines we used along Finchley Road. We feared it was full of cuckoo clocks, dirndl dresses and lederhosen. Not so. It was a comfortable local pub with very good food and drink, ordered from the bar with several inside nooks and a large outdoor area. It was perfect after a day of sightseeing.
We would absolutely recommend this room to anyone and will stay there again if we return to London someday. Thanks Georgia!
After the hubbub of sightseeing in London it was nice to return to the quiet leafy streets of Hampstead. Easy bus ride into centre.
This my second stay and everything was just as wonderful as my last visit a year ago. Location is so wonderful and quiet. The room has everything 2 people need. Super clean. Don't hesitate to stay here if you are visiting London.

Hampstead Village is over 500 years old with many beautiful attractions. Keats House, Fenton House, Burgh House, Freud Museum - to name but a few of the sights to see. The famous Hampstead Heath is a two minute walk from my house and is the loveliest park-land in London. A walk across the Heath and you come to Kenwood House with its art gallery and Restaurant - with many gastro pubs along the way. I provide maps with routes to Hampstead Village and the local stations and bus stops and shops.
