The Homestead is located on the grounds of the Red Reflet Ranch, overlooking dramatic views of the high desert landscape of cliffs, fishing creeks and wildlife unique to the Ten Sleep region. The Homestead is a short, 5 minute drive to the main ranch lodge, or in the opposite direction, the town of Ten Sleep.
The high ceilings and luxurious amenities of this newly-built home accent the dramatic landscape. The wrap-around deck, open layout, and large windows provide unfettered views of the surroundings from sunrise to sunset to late-night stargazing.
The Homestead features a fully-equipped kitchen with a 5-burner stove, stainless steel refrigerator and dishwasher, and high-capacity washer and dryer.
There is a large, six-person hot tub, as well as patio furniture for enjoying meals outside.
Access to the Red Reflet Ranch amenities (horseback riding, zipline, waterpark, and fitness/pool) and onsite restaurant is available for an extra fee.
This house is amazing. We are three couples in our mid 50 -60's and came here to go ATV riding in the Bighorns. This house had everything we needed to make our trip memorable. The bedrooms are very comfortable and the kitchen, dining room, and living area are huge. We enjoyed having breakfast on the deck and cooking our evening meal and relaxing at night. Watching the sun come up in the morning and the views from this house are amazing.
The property was very accommodating for two small families. Two nice master suites upstairs and one downstairs. One master suite upstairs gets hot in morning with the early sun. Beautiful views.
The kitchen could use some work on the knives, otherwise it is fairly appointed. The property was clean, with the exception of the garage, witch had red mud tracked into it and a few rat traps strewn across the floor.
The only real down side of this property is the customer service. Dealing with the owner was one strange experience after another. The strings issues was correspondence about dogs.
I sent an email confirming the place was pet friendly because it does not say "no pets". I have two well trained dogs that we planned to bring with us. The response email I received from the owner was very strange. Instead of simply asking us not to bring our dogs, he began an insulting email string that included the use of all caps and ellipses. He would not let the issue drop and sent a followup email without me responding.
The entire time I made a point of staying respectful and cordial in my communications. At one point in the email correspondence, he warned me that the neighbors' dogs were territorial and it would not be a happy day if the neighbors dog and our dogs met. It made me concerned for the small children that would be staying.
To say the least, what started as great excitement for staying at a nice home in a beautiful setting turned to uneasy anticipation of what we would encounter.
During our stay we did meet the owner and everything was very civil. When I returned home from the stay, I received a call from the owner. Maybe a follow up to see how our stay went, or so I thought. The owner told me that our stay was from Thursday to Sunday, with checkout Sunday. I confirmed. The owner then told me his caretaker told him we stayed Sunday night. That was not the case, I replied and expected the issue to end. It didn't. Instead, he kept telling me his caretaker told him we stayed Sunday night.
When he finally asked me "Are you sure you did not stay Sunday night?", I had enough.
The entire experience of the beautiful property was tainted by the complete oddity that is its owner.
We had a great time in Ten Sleep, Wyoming. From the beginning the host, Robert, was very available and helpful in planning our stay. He smartly advised us to go shopping ahead of time in Worland, since there is no true grocery store in Ten Sleep. He also advised that we arrive during the day, since there are no street lights anywhere close to the VRBO house. Both of these pieces of advice were extremely helpful, since the store in Ten Sleep only had a few cans of food and literally one loaf of bread, and the area around the house was dark and full of wildlife. The house was well stocked with spices, had every utensil you could dream of, had a coffee maker and Nespresso, and all of the bathrooms even had shampoo and conditioner which was greatly appreciated! We took advantage of the hot tub, and used the fully equipped laundry room a few times! All of the appliances were brand new: refrigerator (huge, could fit food for probably 20-30 people), dishwasher (so quiet you couldn't tell it was running unless you looked closely at the indicator light), and washer and dryer. The view was amazing and it was such a treat to wake up to the sunrise in the panoramic windows, and go look at the vast Wyoming expanse on the wrap-around deck. We only had one slightly unpleasant experience, which was when we went to the lodge of the Red Reflet Ranch itself. The place was beautiful! The lodge was elegant and comfortable at the same time, with an amazing view of the red hills and the water features of the property. We spoke with some very nice employees, who were all very personable. One of them (I forget her name), asked us what we planned to do for the day and we mentioned were were just going to relax by the pool. She brought up their water park, fed by artesian springs, and how it was her favorite feature of the ranch. So we decided to go there! She gave great instructions, since the ranch is all dirt roads. But as soon as we turned onto the correct road to get the the water park, another member of the ranch followed us very aggressively in his huge truck. We thought we wanted to pass us so kept slowing down, which only made him followed us more more closely and more aggressively. We pulled up to the water park and he very abruptly asked us what we were doing and what our last name was. As soon as we cleared it up that we were in the VRBO house, he was helpful, but the previous experience was a little unsettling. Despite this, RR was amazing and we will be back
Phenomenal property with an ideal layout for our family. Our host and hostess are phenomenal as well. The views and peaceful setting blew us away.
This house is better than the pictures. Awesome views off the wraparound deck and floor to ceiling windows so you have a great view from inside and out. Everything in the house is upscale. Kitchen has everything you would want. We hiked on the property and also took in the sites nearby. Very relaxing. Owners of the ranch are very nice as well as all of the ranch staff. Remember you are basically in the middle of nowhere and the scenery is outstanding.
