Blanding is surrounded by more National parks and state monuments than anywhere else in the country and this home is the perfect base camp for all of your adventures in the southeastern Utah/ southwestern Colorado region. Our historic home is located in the heart of Blanding; it has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. There is a queen size bed in one bedroom, the other bedroom has a full size bed, and the living room has a queen size pull out sofa bed. There is also a pack-n-play fold out crib for your convenience. The kitchen is fully equipped with cookware, dishes, utensils, coffee pot, microwave, toaster, etc... Everything you need to make your own meals. There is also a barbecue grill outside. At one end of the main living area you'll find a couch, recliner, TV and DVD player, and at the other end is the dining table. The large utility room has a washer and dryer, plus enough room for a couple of bicycles, hunting or climbing gear, or anything else you need extra room to store inside during your stay. Very clean and comfortable with lots of updates, yet it retains many of the features you love to see in old homes. We have big plans for the yard but it is currently a work in progress.
The cottage was the home of Albert R. Lyman, one of the founders of Blanding. One of his many roles was as a shoe maker, and his cobbler shop is still in the backyard!
Blanding Utah is the perfect hub, to see all kinds of Wildlife in the National Forest and fishing in Reservoir 3 was a blast. While we were there we took the 23 Mile Road between Monticello and Blanding, Gorgeous!! Drove lots of mountain roads. The Pottery Shop was my personal favorite. The neighborhood was very quiet spoke to the neighbor to the South and she was very sweet, very helpful. This is definitely one of the top vacations on our list. Thank you again Miss Anna for sharing your home... God bless... The Oklahoma family...
Old house that needs improvements such as appliances, flooring, air conditioning.
Wonderful for the second time! This is a great location to visit many national parks and state parks in the area. We especially liked the drive-through valley of the gods and Hovenweep. We like the quiet peaceful neighborhood. This is a comfortable friendly house. We got hooked on watching Roy Roger reruns. We will return. Bill and Carol
Anne was very efficient in responding too my messages. I actually didn't end up going to the cottage. An emergency came up that prevented it. But even though Anne did not have to, she cancelled my reservation and refunded most of my money. I would work with her again, just for this reason.
Clean and comfortable, this house provided the perfect base camp for our week of hiking in Grand Gulch and the surrounding canyons. Very convenient to downtown Blanding, and nowhere near what it would have cost to stay in a national chain hotel. Only wish I had found this place in time to stay during the previous years' excursions. If we have the opportunity, we will be back to stay again!
After a full day at Arches NP, our stop in Blanding was timely before heading to Natural Bridges National Monument the next day. This cozy cottage had everything we needed at a great price. It was clean, cute & cozy.
