About Tee Taylor

Hi! We're Tee and Mike. We just celebrated our 18th anniversary together. We love to travel, cook, eat, meet new friends and gather with longtime pals. Family time is dear to us, including our cute little Boston Terrier, Gus. We are Californians through and through. We met in the NorCal mountains and have lived in several SoCal beach communities, but have also found peace and inspiration in the rugged north and eastern sides of the state. Although we love to travel the world, California is and will always be our home.

Tee Taylor purchased this house in 2015

Why Tee Taylor chose California Desert

We purchased Casa Paloma because we knew we wanted to spend more time in the high desert upon our first visit. We fell in love the house because it had 'great bones', but was a project that we could add our own special design ideas. We liked that the property was centrally located to many of the deserts attractions we frequent, but we also fell in love the huge mountain of boulders, cacti, wildlife, and privacy that made up the back yard. Also, the property is located at just the right altitude and slope of the mountain that it hosts a grove of Joshua Trees, which we feel just gives it a special kind of magic.

What makes this house unique

Casa Paloma is centrally located to almost all of the major attractions of the high-desert region. It's just minutes to Pioneertown and Pappy and Harriet's and about 30 minutes to the Joshua Tree National Park. The property is home to a grove of Joshua Trees. The house is filled with an amazing array of art and culture books to read and a nice selection of vinyl records that's just as varied of our musical tastes to entertain you. Built in the 70's, the excellent build quality and insulation gives it a cave like feel. It's warm in the winter, especially with the built in fireplace and stays cool in the warm summer months.

We loved the property! Absolutely beautiful, and very welcoming. The owners were extremely gracious and helpful-we were very impressed by their kindness. The list of restaurants and suggestions for activities was a great addition for us. One more thing-the sheets!!! So comfortable!!! 😊

Thank you!

Good times!

  • 5 of 5

The house was wonderful! Decorated perfectly for the high desert and loved listening to the vinyl record collection. Great furnishings and the hot tub was perfect after a day of rock climbing in Joshua Tree. The backyard has great access for a quick hike. Recommendations that are in the welcome book for Casa Paloma were fantastic, Frontier Cafe was our go-to for coffee and tasty food. Highly recommended and will definitely love to stay again for future trips.

Perfect family retreat

  • 4 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the house. We loved the decor and made use of the extensive vinyl collection. The house is conveniently located near some amazing sights, and there are plenty of options for groceries and food. The host is amazing and was very quick to respond to our inquiries. We would definitely stay here again.

Absolutely perfect.

This photos are so inviting, but honestly the house is even more fantastic in person! My husband, dog and I have had the most relaxing, super comfortable stay. I'm a native Angelino who has been coming to the desert 50+ years but had never heard of Yucca Valley. Well, I'll be back. In fact, I love it here. Why? The location is perfect for exploring Joshua Tree, Landers, Palm Springs, and so many other cool places. This home is furnished simply and elegantly. It has every accoutrement necessary to me, and I am a high maintenance, picky traveler! The communication with the owner was excellent, and the owners' guidebook for the house was helpful. The recommendations in the area were spot on. Oh my goodness, that swap meet is not to be missed! We had a perfect stay.

Two things to note: there are two bathrooms. One has a shower only. One has a bathtub only. Not a problem for us as a couple, but a good thing to know for potential renters. The other is that we couldn't figure out how to watch tv tonight to see the second presidential debate. We couldn't get anything on the tv, in fact. Luckily the wifi signal is so strong here that it didn't matter - we live streamed the debate on our iPad. GREAT wifi signal if that matters to you! The hot tub looked inviting but we never got around to getting in it. Too many other things to enjoy. Go to Pappy & Harriet's and do walk through Pioneertown! DO RENT THIS HOUSE! You will not be sorry you did. Thanks for a most excellent stay.

Great place!

  • 5 of 5

This rental is as cute as it looks. Wide open rooms and large windows allow for plenty of natural light. House is well stocked with supplies - cooking tools, basic pantry items, bath towels. Guests may want to bring extra blankets and should definitely bring their own towels for the hot tub. Very clean upon arrival. Would definitely recommend!

Perfect gataway

  • 5 of 5

Stayed here with a few friends in celebration in my birthday and its was perfect! Variety of awesome vinyl - Paul Simon, Nancy Sinatra, The Cure, Madonna, and Bob Dylan - just to name a few. The decor made me want to re-do my home (SO CUTE) and it was a hop and a skip away from Pappy and Harriets.
