Wonderful house. Wonderful location. Wonderful host.

  • 5 of 5

We've now stayed in this lovely house for the second time. We find it checks all of our boxes. Quiet location, friendly community, pet friendly, accommodating host, comfortable bed and just overall a very comfortable experience. Walk to the wharf, walk to the east facing beach, drive mere minutes to the Schoodic Peninsula portion of Acadia. After staying in a number of other houses in the area, this is the one we expect to return to many more times.

Awesome place. Beautiful house and neighbourhood.

  • 5 of 5

We've stayed at the property for the couple of days. The place pleasantly surprised us. It was much bigger than appeared on the pictures, the house was thoughtfully and beautifully equipped with everything we've needed for the stay. There were plenty of towels, linens, dishes etc.. The porch was great - we had breakfasts there, there were even all the tools for eating lobsters!! The ocean is a walking distance - we walked around and got lobsters at fishing Co-Op and had them for dinner. The neighborhood is quiet and lovely. We had extra people - Brenda allowed my brother and his wife to come along and the house comfortably fit 10. Schoonic area of Acadia was 15 minutes from there - we've enjoyed much quieter part of Acadia but as beautiful as island. We enjoyed internet and tv. Thank you Brenda for a beautiful house and our great experience in Acadia!

Wonderful experience, will do it again.

The cottage is about 50-70 yards from the water, about 45 minutes from Bar Harbor and about 15 minutes from the Acadia Park (West Side) across from Bar Harbor.

The cottage has all the comforts of home and more, really ! Because it felt like home, we simply bought live lobsters ($5.50 lbs) on the way back and had dinner at the cottage, saving a bucket of money.

The boat and bus tour is a must.

On the boat tour we saw 4 bald Eagles within 5 minutes of seeing the first one.

The bus tour will be to (East side) of Acadia Park and it will go up Cadillac mountain and thru-out the main part of Acadia Park.

The rest of the stay we just drove to Bar Harbor parked and enjoyed the shopping and fine lunches. Great place for a honeymoon or Wedding anniversary (it was our 40th) :>)

Money well spent !

Charming clean costal home.

We stayed for only three days but loved it. Was a quaint area, quiet, charming and relaxing. Anything we needed for our stay was there. Enjoyed local restaurants and Schoodic Peninsula. Would definitely recommend renting this property.

Perfect location and accommodations

  • 5 of 5

The home was spacious and well-equipped. Very clean and comfortable. We loved Corea as home base while we explored Acadia and Bar Harbor. We spent two days biking the Schoodic Peninsula. We preferred the quiet and less populated areas of Acadia to those found east of Bar Harbor. I will be recommending this great home and location to others. If you go, stop by the Gallery for lunch. Buy lobsters at the Co-Op. Walk along the beach in Corea.

Quiet retreat far from the tourist crowds

  • 4 of 5

We stayed in Corea for a few days in late July. The house is well equipped and owner helpful for advising local services, etc. Nearest grocery store is 30 miles away in Ellsworth. Kitchen is well equipped and a nice sunny deck out back. Rooms are pleasant. Maybe the decor is a little dated but clean, quaint and suited our needs. Just watch the brick hearth surrounding the old potbelly stove in the kitchen. It stubbed our toes several times. But no wine or food spilled :-) Safe area. Little traffic. In fact we only discovered on our last night that the back door didn't lock.

The town of Corea is just a quiet NE fishing village. No services. Only one cafe in town which is mostly open for lunch. It's a simple affair but we didn't eat there. Some restaurants in Winter Harbor 15mins away but not a great selection. There is a ferry from Winter Harbor to Bar Harbor but its $25 roundtrip and takes 50mins. No discounts for kids. Drive but parking in Bar Harbor can be a challenge (all day free in residential streets about 3 blocks from town. 2 hr limits in town). Take the free shuttle through the Acadia Natl Park.

It was an easy and pleasant 45min drive to Bar Harbor so close to the sights without the maddening crowds. Relaxing place. Would recommend, unless you need maddening crowds around you.
