Mike and I have been married for 3 years now and live life to the fullest. We are hard working, honest people who always strive to be our best. We love all outdoor activities and take pride in our home. We are country folks at heart and although we are super active, we know how to relax and enjoy the peacefulness of the farm.
The Owner purchased this farmhouse in 2002
We love this property because it is beautiful, comfortable and is an authentic old farm house. We have carefully upgraded certain aspects while maintaining it's classic integrity. It has such a feeling of home and brings a sense of peace. It's a great place to unwind and spread out.
A unique benefit of this property has to be its location. It feels like you're out in the middle of nowhere, away from the hustle and bustle of every day life. It's very quiet. Surrounded by fields, outbuildings and sprawling lawns. In reality, you are just a mile off of Main Street and within a mile of all of the amenities you could ever need. Staying at home and watching wildlife, picnicking in the yard and enjoying walks through the fields are nice ways to spend your time. Letting stress evaporate from your life. And yet, within a 45 minute drive you can access countless hours of hiking in the Adirondack Mountains, downhill skiing at Royal Mountain, skate skiing at Lapland Lake, dining on the shores of the Great Sacandaga Lake, or mountain biking, dining, horse racing or shopping in Saratoga Springs.
We stayed here for Thanksgiving with our Son, Daughter-in-law and two small children. Our Mother, Sister and husband and brother and his family came over for dinner because they live in the area. We are from Florida. We found the house to be very comfortable and accommodating. It is very well furnished and renovated and clean. We were blessed with a beautiful snowfall during our holiday and the children were able to build their first snowman in the yard. This was a memory that will last a lifetime. All the beds were very comfortable, the two bathrooms were in perfect order and the kitchen was well equipped for our large feast. I totally recommend this place to anyone who wants to escape the city and hustle bustle of everyday life.
House was immaculate, nice hot water, soft beds. Clean yard and fun for the kids. Thanks so much!
The house was lovely and very well maintained and furnished. Our only wish was for air conditioning as this is something we are used to and our stay was in July. We will definitely be staying again as we visit family in the area! Highly recommend Peaceful Country Living!
The perfect spot to stay with family while visiting family in the area. The beds were super comfy and the furnishings are perfect. We liked not having access to TV (we don't have and AppleTV account) so we were forced to speak to each other, which is why we were there.
In the area, we were blessed to receive a private tour of the Glove Theatre in Gloversville and thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Johnstown Historical Society museum - such rich history in this area! My husband got to visit his childhood home and my MIL got to see her 101 year old aunt. Plus MIL made enough money at the Saratoga Springs casino to pay for her trip! Bonus!
Thank you Sarah for a comfortable and interesting stay! :)
We stayed at the Peaceful Country Living home over the Christmas holidays and thought it was a lovely home. Very clean. Nicely decorated. Everything we needed in the kitchen. Warm and soft bedding and towels. More than enough room for our party of 8. We didn't use the outside but there was a garage and ample room for a family to be comfortable there for a long or short stay. My only advice is to be careful coming in and out of the driveway. Due to the hill it's hard to see oncoming traffic, although it wasn't a busy road. In summary, we loved it!
We really enjoyed our stay at this house. It was very spacious, with a living room, dining room, kitchen and multiple bedrooms. It was a great place to stay with friends!
It was about an hour away from Cooperstown and we stayed here on the Baseball Hall of Fame weekend on short notice, so it was a better deal and better set up than anything we could've had closer to Cooperstown.
Booking was easy, the owner was very responsive and amenities included a kitchen with dishes/silverware and essential appliances (coffee!), as well as linens/towels upon request and a special local treat in the refrigerator.
We didn't spend a whole lot of time in the surrounding area, nor taking in the grounds of the property as much as we would've wanted to. The property is beautiful. The local area, as far as I can tell, has an Applebee's and that's about it ;-)
