We stayed at this cabin during the week of Thanksgiving. We had ample room for our family to spread out and relax. We enjoyed the area and the amenities of the golf resort. We were able to get golf carts from the pro shop and drive the resort, which includes a nice BBQ shack. The view from the porch was was picturesque. This is where the good of the cabin stops. When we entered the cabin we were greeted with a smell of sewage. We couldn’t find the source of the smell, which permeated the basement area where one of the rooms is located. We weren’t able to utilize either gas fireplace and when we contacted the owner and he said they were “tricky.” It was suggested to review the manual or “welcome book”, however it was not to be found anywhere. The fireplaces were the vent free variety and very dirty so we decided it was better to just give up on them. The appliances were all gas, however, when we found the carbon monoxide detector in a drawer in the kitchen (without a battery) it made us take stock of the other glaring absences. We were only able to find 2 smoke detectors in the house for 3 floors. The drains in the showers and sinks were slow. The master bathroom was almost unusable because the sink didn’t drain and the lack of water pressure made it difficult to bathe. This would not be a good place for people with allergies. There was dust and dander all over the main level of the house, possibly from the cow hide rug on the floor. There was only seating for 5 in the living room area. The house sleeps 9 which means there is not enough room for everyone in the living room. We had 7 people to sit at the table for meals, but 2 of the chairs were broken and the rest wobbly. We were able to fix some of the chairs by hand tightening the nuts on them. There wasn’t a working landline phone. Verizon service was unavailable, but AT&T did well. The provided wifi instructions were incorrect. There was a missing door knob leading to the deck (which was filthy); in its place was a bent coat hangar. The kitchen was nice enough, but no wine glasses in the cupboards. The cleanliness of the dishes was suspect, so we washed everything. There was also a significant lack of cleaning supplies. A simple container of Clorox wipes would have been nice especially since we were cooking a full Thanksgiving dinner. The owner clearly doesn’t frequent his property and check on the day to day running of it and the person that cleans the cabin just performs a cursory spot clean.
The house is beautiful and we felt very at home there. I love the area! I highly recommend this house!
We had a great time at this cabin for a long weekend getaway. Nice location, lots of privacy, beautiful surroundings, the multiple levels of decks were great. Interior was nice too, multiple levels, nice great room for relaxing at night, basement with games (foosball table, pool table). The cabin had some minor cosmetic issues but was a great place to stay overall. I was there with my wife and 5 year old son and everyone had a fun, relaxing time. The drive to Chattanooga is about 30 minutes or so, and a very pretty drive through the mountains to get there. Lots to do in the area. We enjoyed the Tennessee Aquarium in Chattanooga, Cloudland Canyon (great hike, very scenic), and had great food at the Canyon Grill in Rising Fawn, and some excellent BBQ at Thatcher's Barbeque and Grille in nearby Trenton, GA. We'll definitely be back.
Everything went great! I had read some reviews that made me nervous about cobwebs/things being messy. However, that was not our experience. The house was way nicer than I expected, and it was in incredible shape. Eric was great to work with allowing us an earlier check in and later check out time. It was decorated very well giving it a special feel. The two ways it could be improved are better lighting in the living room and the water pressure in the shower upstairs. However, those were minor little details compared to an incredible experience. It was the kind of place I want to go back to as soon as I can. It was tucked away nicely without any close neighbors, and it was a beautiful environment with easy access to spending time on a nearby golf hole that had very little traffic. It was close to Cloudland Canyon where we went on a gorgeous hike, and it had a large nice flatscreen tv in the living room we got to watch games on. I highly recommend this place.
The only fault is the lack of parking everything else was excellent!
We rented this home to stay in because our daughter was getting married at flat duck farm. Very nice neighborhood, house is nice needs a few repairs like the door handles but we made do. There are a lot of stairs 2
Flights from basement to living area then another 5 steps up to master bedroom and kitchen. For a lot of people not a problem. We had my parents with us and my dad has bad feet so all the steps were not so good. Had lots of channels to watch on tv, gorgeous views of the mountains. It is a very steep hill to get up In your car and if you only have one or 2 cars you can both park at top but if more it's a pain. Very nice kitchen with very nice stainless steel appliances. It was nice how everything was provided like tide, bounce, soaps shampoos, plenty of toilet paper and paper towels: The bedding was nice and the bedroom upstairs was wonderful. I slept so good the fan really moved the air and has a separate thermostat just for upstairs which was very nice since usually top levels are hot. I do agree that there needs to be a little more lighting it was a little confusing since we arrived after dark. Towels and sheets were very nice. The house did have quite a few cobwebs and the floor wasn't the cleanest but for the most part the cabin was clean. Eruc was a pleasure to work with for the most part. I was disappointed in the fact that I was told we could go swimming and fishing and use a golf cart and we were not allowed to do either because we didn't have a key card. I would stay here again if it is just my husband and older kids but not ideal for older people?or toddlers because there are a lot of stairs. I thought it would be like a tri level a few steps here and there but there are 4 flights of stairs from basement to the upstairs bedroom. We had plenty of space and it was relaxing.
