We are a happy family of three with a second home at the shore. We have lived in NYC for 17 years and we absolutely love Brooklyn.
Cecilia Lang purchased this house in 2007
The location is superb and the furnishings are high quality and clean. The backyard is beautiful and includes a hot tub and grill.
Lots of sitting areas and very comfortabe and roomy.
We (a family of 5) stayed at this property for 3 nights in May. It is an attractively decorated, 2-story townhouse with exposed bricks on the southern edge of very trendy Carroll Gardens. It is conveniently located for the subway, restaurants, bars, etc.
The owners are very responsive and helpful. They really try to make sure their clients' stays are as flawless as possible. After all, it is their primary residence. Not surprisingly, it has all of the comfort features one would expect in someone's primary house - wifi, Apple TV, Sonos sound system, ceiling fans, modern kitchen, etc. In short, it is a fabulous Brooklyn townhouse for a family of 5 (two big beds and one single).
One caveat is that the property does not have air conditioning. I don't think it is a big issue other than the hottest times of the year. The owners did provide two fans for us. In addition, the property is located on a relatively quiet street, but faces a handful of commercial properties (an event venue, a parking lot, an outdoor art gallery, etc.). After all, this is New York and we were perfectly fine with the street scene and noise. But, be sure to take a look at Google Street View to make sure you are comfortable with the property location.
Overall, highly recommended and good value for a fantastic location in Brooklyn. We will stay there again.
Our stay in Brooklyn was what we were looking for, a place to relax in, after a busy day of the hustle and bustle of New York. The house was great, very clean, bathrooms were great, kitchen was perfect for our morning coffees and breakfasts and your home fit our family of four perfectly. Our daughter especially enjoyed the hot tub in the evenings.
Walks to the subway stations were just minutes away and we found everything we needed for groceries in the neighborhood, love the neighborhood! Coincidentally, the exhibition we were there to attend was only a fifteen minute walk away at The Invisible Dog on Bergen Street.
The master bedroom was nice and quiet but I have to admit, the street noise in the front bedroom was quite loud with two weddings going on during the weekend. Solution ... we went out and bought ear plugs for our daughter.
Thanks again for the stay!

This home far exceeded our expectations! It is beautiful and spacious, while having an "I feel like I'm at home" comfort. This plus the convenience of being one block away from our daughter's wedding venue really set the tone for the whole weekend. The hot tub was also a huge hit with the kids. We walked everywhere and found the location convenient to shops and food. I cannot say enough about this ideal spot. Beyond that the owners were very accommodating and pleasant to work with. Would love to stay again!!
The owner was very accommodating and provided us with a list of restaurants in the area. It was perfect for my husband and me together with my daughter and her family. This house is perfect for a family since you are able to walk to the coffee shops, nearby restaurants and unique shops. We also enjoyed the backyard porch area with the hot tub and grill. Also, the owner went out of her way to return a baby monitor that was left behind. I will definitely stay in this home on a return visit and also recommend it to my friends.
My family rented this apartment for a weekend wedding in Brooklyn. The location suited us perfectly as the wedding was held on Atlantic Ave. It's an easy walk (15-20 minutes) from the Atlantic Terminal. Smith street, 2 blocks to the west, had everything we needed as far as food was concerned. My daughter and I squeezed in a morning run over the Brooklyn Bridge.
The apartment is vacated by the owners when it is rented out. There was sufficient space for our food in the mini-fridge and we found enough closet space to hang our wedding clothes. Private kitchen cabinets were easily identifiable and overall the directions were clear and understandable (but the TV was a bit tricky). The backyard and hot tub were a real advantage because we had perfect fall weather. Minor drawbacks were... a family that lives upstairs who we could hear in the morning when we were in the bedroom, a fair amount of street noise at night (we had windows open), and bedroom doors that were not very private. Overall, I thought these were very reasonable accommodations for our family and would eagerly rent again.
My family had a lovely fall weekend in this wonderful Carroll Gardens duplex. Cecelia was very helpful with our planning and got back to us quickly over the weekend when we had questions. The location is wonderful - a short walk to the F/G train, many shops and restaurants and Whole Foods. The space is very clean, stylish and comfortable. We brought along our 2 1/2 and 5 year old and they were quite happy to play with the toys that were available to them from Cecelia's son. The open floor plan upstairs was perfect for us with the little ones. The swinging chair was also quite a hit! The backyard is a true OASIS in the city. It's quiet, private and beautiful. It was wonderful to have an outdoor space for a glass of wine after the kids were in bed and a place to hang out during the afternoon while they were napping. The hot tub was a real treat!! We would most certainly stay here again!
