Maria and Richard moved to the Washington Area almost 40 years ago. Both have traveled extensively, often internationally, to pursue studies, professional trips and also for pleasure. They have recently retired. Maria and Richard enjoy reading and writing, British sitcoms and TV detective stories, video documentaries and movies at nearby movie houses.
Richard or Maria Burcroff purchased this apartment in 2007
We moved into the area in 1979 and purchased a home in Alexandria, VA, a delightful locale with good primary and secondary education opportunities for our two children. After our kids left home for college, we decided to downsize and eventually relocated to Downtown Silver Spring, which was undergoing a dramatic revitalization that has led to the vibrant and diverse community Silver Spring has become in the past decade. We decided to purchase a condo which, fortuitously, coincided with the initial offerings for units in the Crescent Condominium....and haven't looked back!
Located in the heart of Downtown Silver Spring, MD and less than a half mile from the District of Columbia's northern border, the Crescent is quite new, very secure and extremely well managed. The entryway and other common facilities are modern and well maintained. The apartment is fully equipped and comfortable, with modern appliances and -- as noted -- stunning views from the balcony and from windows on two sides. The unit also is positioned for convenient access to a regional Metro-rail hub and local bus services, as well as Downtown Silver Spring's vibrant commercial district.
My wife and I stayed in Richard and Maria Burcroff's condo for the summer while we worked in downtown DC, and we could not have asked for anything more. The condo has all the comforts of home (it probably doesn't hurt that the owners live there themselves sometimes), has a free fitness center in the lobby, and is located just a 5-minute walk from the Metro, across the street from Whole Foods and CVS, and within blocks (in all directions) of a wide range of great restaurants. The condo itself has a great view of DC, an office complete with a printer and scanner, a full kitchen, a washer/dryer, great air conditioning, and nice touches everywhere. The owners are very responsive to email and answered our questions promptly and fully throughout the summer. They even threw in a couple of free apartment cleanings over the course of the summer. Staying in this condo was one of the best decisions we have made.
I had the pleasure of staying at the condo for one month for a work function. The condo is well decorated, clean, and well-stocked with everything that I needed. Since it is on the top floor, the condo received plenty of sunlight in the mornings and late afternoons, an aspect that I enjoyed. It is conveniently located near two grocery stores within 5 minutes of walking, CVS pharmacy, numerous restaurants, and the metro red line. Richard was very responsive to emails and a pleasure to work with. An excellent experience and I recommend this condo without hesitation.
My wife and I spent a very comfortable 2 months staying at this apartment, we found it to feel like a second home immediately and enjoyed the cleanliness, decor, appliances and gigantic bed greatly. The building is located in an excellent area right next to Downtown Silver Spring - full of restaurants, supermarkets and every other convenience you could need, and a mere 5 minutes walk from the metro and bus station that we used frequently to visit DC and other areas in Maryland.
Additionally, Richard and Maria were excellent to deal with, making sure our needs were attended to whenever required. We shall definitely use the apartment again if it's available when we are next in town. Highly recommended to all!
Stayed here for Thanksgiving and it was a great place. Condo was clean, quiet, comfortable and convenient. My wife is allergic to cats and dogs so the fact this is a pet free rental, and nice and clean was great. Kitchen was well equipped, which was very helpful since we didn't need to eat out every meal. Location is very convenient, a short walk to the Silver Spring Metro station where you can catch the red line to museums and downtown. We had an excellent stay and would recommend this condo without hesitation.
My colleague and I had the pleasure of staying for 4 weeks during AIRP. The condo was spacious enough for two and tastefully decorated. The view was also fantastic. Kitchen was well organized and had almost everything you needed. The location was ideal, close to the AFI theatre, gym across the street, 2 grocery stores and multiple restaurants in walking distance. Also a 5 minute walk to the metro to downtown Washington.
I would highly recommend this rental for any residents looking for a comfortable place to call home during AIRP.
