We had a wonderful stay at this charming cabin! It was a beautiful place to stay during October, when the leaves were changing color and the weather nice. We all loved the way the cabin was decorated and we felt it was very clean. That earns many stars in our book! The owner is very friendly and accommodating.
At the very last minute, my husband and I decided to plan a trip to the Mississippi River area for Labor Day weekend. We were fortunate enough to find this property available at a reasonable price, with a great location on a holiday weekend. Julie responded to our request INSTANTLY! What a relief! We were booked in on our way the very next day.
The cabin is exactly as described in the posting. It is very cute with lots of little quirks that just made us smile! The cabin is SPOTLESSLY CLEAN! Decorated very nice. Beautiful view of the Mississippi River. We found Geodes all around the area! There was so much to do in the area. We enjoyed riding the scenic hwy all along the Mississippi River to visit all the area attractions.
Perfect for a couple or family with a couple of small children.
We LOVED our stay at the Cozy Cabin in Hamilton. It had a beautiful view right out the windows. We loved the coziness of the cabin, and it had everything that we needed for our vacation to Nauvoo. Julie was VERY accommodating. We arrived there late at night, and she had the AC going and the beds ready for us. It's not luxurious, but "homey" and comfortable, cute, and perfect for our family. We would love to stay there again if we return to Nauvoo, and hoping to do so in a couple of years.
The cabin was perfect for our family. We felt safely and conveniently located by Nauvoo. A quick 10 minute drive and you are right in the heart of Nauvoo. The cabin is older but it adds to the experience of the visit. My kids loved seeing the owners flower garden and animals on the property. Owner is on site which leaves you feeling very taken care of. We did not notice the water smell unless we were showering and we came from a big city. If you are over 6 feet tall, the ceilings might be an issue. 😉Bring bug spray and enjoy watching the sunset on the Mississippi right in front of the cabin. You can't beat the price and convenience of this property. We would stay again.
Cabin was small, but very clean and well-maintained. Excellent customer service. Owner checked in several times and made sure we were well taken care of. Plenty of dishes, pots/pans, towels, bedding, etc. for our stay. Fridge, stove, toaster, microwave, all clean and in good working condition. TV and DVD worked fine. Only problem we had was spotty WIFI connection, but we understood that had more to do with the local provider. Would highly recommend for a couple or small family on a budget. There were six of us. Space was a little tight, but it worked fine with the extra cot and air mattress that were provided. Air conditioning worked well. It was a nice place to come home to after hot days touring the nearby historic sites. Nice location - between Nauvoo and Keokuk. Easy to find. Close to everything, but feels out of the way. The drive along the Mississippi River was spectacular, and the beautiful sunsets over the water as we arrived home each night were a welcome bonus.
I was looking for a quiet retreat and that is what I found. The 1901 cabin had its quirks but it added to its charm. I was comfortable and it was quiet.
