Description

Photos and Description of this holiday studio in Santa Fe

1 Bedroom, 1 Bathroom, 1 yoga/meditation/writing/acupressure room. Sleeps 3

375 sq ft, with kitchenette. 1/2 hr from plaza and Opera. Brand-new (passive solar, natural woods and 0-voc paint). Private entrance, shares building with host's writing studio. Ideal for rejuvenation, study and contemplation.

The Space

Beautiful views, extraordinary quiet. Sunrise and sunset skies can be enjoyed through the 5’x7’ window from either the queen-size bed or standard double futon sofa-bed. Cotton sheets, cotton and/or down quilts. Kitchenette, WiFi, writing desk. Radiant floor heat, ceiling fan, extra insulation and windows with cross-breeze provide natural climate comfort year-round.

Guest Access

Your hosts practice and teach a gentle and profound form of Japanese acupressure, Hands-on sessions and self-care instruction can be arranged in-house. Native plant landscaping with outdoor dining area is in progress.Vast views and deep quiet.

Interaction with Guests

We welcome requests for supplementary kitchen utensils, spices, etc. Will direct you to good hiking, local petroglyphs.

We offer guests the experience of JSJ Acupressure, a hands-on art of harmonizing life energy in the body Single sessions, “Intensives” (a series of sessions) and instruction in simple self-care techniques are all available. We give discounts on lodging for those who stay here while receiving a series of sessions or attending classes. Please contact us for pricing particulars. Please contact us for more information.

The Neighborhood

Beautiful 360% views, in a neighborhood of 12-acre plots. You’ll almost never hear a neighbor other than the natives with wings or 4 legs. There’s one house past ours so a car drives by just very occasionally.

Peruse some of our favorites from the cornucopia of cultural and natural treasures this area has to offer, year-round, on the "Visiting Santa Fe" page of our website (contact us for web address). Santa Fe is renown for culinary delights, pure air and vibrant colors (geographically, artistically and culturally).

Getting Around

We live on a dirt road, 1 and ½ miles from pavement, near to the Turquoise Trail (Hwy 14). An all-wheel drive vehicle is occasionally needed during winter, otherwise any car can (slowly) handle the road.

If you prefer to come without a car, airport transport can be arranged (we'll take you shopping for groceries on the way in from the airport and can give rides to and from town most days.)

Other Things to Note

With a pure taste for drinking and tea-brewing, our annually tested, filtered well water is chemical free. The kitchenette is equipped with a two-burner stove-top, large-sized mini-fridge (rated as the quietest, it’s also cabinet-enclosed and insulated for further quiet), large toaster oven, electric kettle, Bialetti percolator, good kitchenware and basic supplies (teas, flour, sugar, oil, herbs, spices (all mostly organic). We’ll happily share other pots, spices and extra fridge space in our house.

No smoking of any kind (indoors or outdoors), no recreational drugs, moderate alcohol consumption only.

We love them, but in consideration of guests with allergies, no pets can be housed here.

Please, NO colognes, perfumes, incense, essential oils or scented bath/beauty products. We provide natural, unscented soaps, lotion, sunscreen, shampoo and conditioner that are kind to our septic system. We request you use these. Please let us know if this won’t work for you.

We're both artists (Uzi: video; Cynthia: painting and poetry). We practice and teach Jin Shin Jyutsu locally and internationally. We'll warmly welcome you, make sure you're comfortable, share tips for local hiking, activities, etc. Our place is all about the space to be quiet, expansive, and nourished by the touch of Nature.

About owner/property manager

Uzi lived on a kibbutz (communal living) in the northern Gallile of Israel from birth until age 29, when he came to the USA to study Art. Cynthia, also an artist, moved to the Santa Fe area as a teen in the early 70's, then returned to San Francisco for school ad got caught there a few decades. We are thrilled to have left the rat-race and found this little paradise! We practice and teach Acupressure locally and world-wide.

Perfect!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay at Uzi and Cynthia's place. We didn't arrive until super late (12:30-1:00am) and Uzi was so accommodating, he offered to stock the fridge for us with breakfast items since we would be getting in so late! So helpful! We enjoyed the views and the peace and quiet. The suite was very clean and well stocked with everything we needed.

Beauty, Tranquility, and Healing

Uzi and Cynthia are wonderful hosts of an amazing place. One of the most beautiful locations I've seen in NM, you are surrounded by mountain vistas. And, despite being a fairly short drive to santa fe, you have true peace and quiet as only the rural countryside can offer. Finally, Uzi and Cynthia focus on keeping the home clear of chemicals and fragrances. The place is a great place for allergy sufferers of all types both for that reason and thanks to the naturally pristine air.

Quiet weekend, beautiful scenery

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed a quiet retreat at this lovely guesthouse. The guesthouse was thoughtfully designed by the homeowners and attention was given to every detail for their guests' comfort. We found the listing description accurate and the suite itself was clean, neat and well supplied. Although the temperatures outside were below freezing during our stay, we stayed pleasantly warm inside with the quiet radiant in -floor heating. Cynthia & Uzi were very kind, gracious and willing to help us enjoy our stay in the beautiful Santa Fe area.

Everything about our stay was magical. The space, the views, the hospitality. This is a remarkable space and I can't wait to get to come back and visit. A true retreat from the world.
