House needs a sprucing up, but the setting is fabulous.
The outdoor areas and setting are magnificent. It's like being on your own private island. Our family of ten loved the pool and beach. Unfortunately, the house itself is starting to get shabby. It needs a sprucing up.
We took our family of 7 including 2 grandchildren to stay at Casa Rosa for a one week vacation. We have already stayed numerous times in the area but not at this location. I have to say, it was amazing. Andres and Alicia were absolutely awesome. We had fresh orange juice, fruit and salsa everyday. They took great care of all of us. There was plenty of room for all of us plus another 6 comfortably. The pool and beach were amazing. Everything about this trip was absolutely awesome.
Casa Rosa, December 2016
Stayed at Casa Rosa with the entire family (7 adults and 6 kids) for one week. Tremendous facilities in a beautiful location. No need to leave the house, the beach is just a few steps away and made good use of the gorgeous infinity pool. The rooms are very clean and spacious with great views of the beach. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Be prepared to submit your menu in advance and be clear on what you like and don't like. They can also help make some awesome drinks! Absolutely fantastic!
Don't bother renting a car as cabs are inexpensive and car rental prices are outrageous. Go to Barra De Potosi and get some local food!
Overall this is a 5 star experience. It's a very quiet place and with a beautiful beach. Keep the young kids close as the waves might sweep them away...
I would recommend Casa Rosa to anyone!
Delightful !!!! Over the past ten years, my husband and I have vacationed in six beach front villas in Mexico and Casa Rosa is by far our favorite! The beautiful house and grounds are perfect for relaxing and forgetting the cares of the world. The care takers, Andres and Alishea, could not have been more gracious and accommodating. Andres heard me say that I loved coconut water, so he had cold, coconut water for me everyday. We were there for St. Valentines Day. After a long day shopping, we arrived back at our room and found that Alishea had made two, darling little towel swans in the shape of a heart and a cute little towel dog that were setting on our bed. They were surrounded with colorful flower pedals. It was unexpected and such a thoughtful and beautiful gesture. That will be one of my favorite memories of our trip. Each morning we awoke to a delicious breakfast and each evening we watched the amazing sunset while we ate our perfectly prepared dinner poolside. Alishea is a very good cook. Her grilled meats, veggies and desert flan were fabulous. We were pleasantly surprised that the miles of pristine, coconut tree lined, coastline was mostly ours alone. We rarely saw anyone on the beach. We enjoyed day trips to nearby Zihuatanejo and Ixtapa for shopping and fishing and whale watching excursions were just down the beach at Barra De Potosi. There is a recently discovered archaeological site near Casa Rosa, with a museum and a small town nearby with gold mines. The manager, Orlando, and a local young man, Alex, were very friendly and spoke excellent English. They were very helpful in answering questions and making suggestions for tours. Our time spent at Casa Rosa will be cherished and we plan to return.
We took ten people to the Casa Rosa house for a 10 day vacation, and got just that. The house is very relaxing and allows everyone the space to enjoy the pool, beach and family living area. The care takers of the house are willing to do everything for you or let you do or own thing. The pictures are perfect and maybe dont do enough justice to the house it is gorgeous. The beach is very peaceful and private. Maybe 5-10 people will pass by in a days time. the water was warm and inviting although the waves are a little more powerful and not the best for little kids. We watched whales everyday and even saw a couple of sharks swimming in the area on one particular day, yikes! The only down fall to the beach are the sand flies that bite. We all came home with what appears to be mosquito bite but that was worth the privacy and relaxation. Fishing off the beach was better than the boats rented.
You definately need a rental car to get around the area and the nearby town of Barra de Petosi can provide almost all of the needs one might having during the stay.
We would go back in a heart beat and had a very hard time leaving the place. BEAUTIFUL!
Went with 10 people for a 8 days. The most relaxing vacation ever. The beach is truly deserted. Saw less than 30 people on it the whole week. The cook is incredible, rooms wonderful, House & pool area a work of art. Saw dolphins very close to shore. Not a lot of sightseeing around but the beauty of the place is its isolation from crowds of people. So if you want to relax, not cook and just sit around, read, swim, siesta, drink and decompress, this is the place for you.
