Nestled in the charming Village of Matinecok on two manicured acres, just 30 miles from midtown Manhattan, this beautiful, private oasis will truly make you feel like you are light years away from the city. Located on a beautiful, quiet tree lined road within easy walking distance of the train station, restaurants, antique shops and more. Relax around the heated salt water pool and enjoy the lovely garden and sprawling lawns, prepare gourmet meals in the incredibly well equipped kitchen or keep it simple and BBQ by the pool on the outdoor gas grill. Winter holidays are very special here with three cozy fireplaces, large formal dining room and plenty of space for everyone to enjoy themselves. This house has been completely remodeled and recently furnished with high quality furniture throughout. There is a sound system throughout most of the house and around the pool as well. The master suite is a new addition, designed with privacy & luxury in mind. Enjoy the steam shower or deep soaking whirlpool tub. The master bedroom open out onto it's own covered porch that in turn looks out onto the formal garden and pool. Relax on one of the lounge chairs and enjoy a glass of wine or just read a book. There is a large and very comfortable family room with a large screen TV, just off of the kitchen, that also opens out to the back courtyard and pool, a gorgeous formal living room with fireplace and large formal dining room, also with a fireplace. The breakfast area is directly off of the kitchen. With it's own fireplace, it looks out over the pool and courtyard. All of the bedrooms are situated away from the center of the house, offering maximum privacy for all guests. There is a very large bedroom on one side with a king sized bed, a day bed & trundle bed and an adjacent smaller bedroom with a queen bed. These bedrooms share a beautifully remodeled full bath PLUS an additional bathroom with a shower just down the hallway. The fourth bedroom has a queen sized bed and it's own full bathroom. There is a lovely powder room right off the front foyer, making for a total of four and a half baths. The sunroom, which faces out onto the back courtyard is screened in, with a table for eating or games and there you will find a new recumbent stationary bike to help you stay fit while gazing out at the gardens.
Take your time exploring the quaint little Village of Matinecock or nearby Oyster Bay and the many small towns and villages along the North Shore. Take the kids to the nearby beaches or the amusement park, both about a ten minute drive. Or, for a change of pace, take a ten minute walk to the nearby train station and hop on the Long Island Railroad to Penn Station to enjoy an easy day trip to NYC!
My husband and I alternate our time between Newport Beach and Long Island. We feel that we are very fortunate to be able to enjoy the best of both coasts and have the opportunity to spend plenty of time with our spread out family's.

We feel in love with the Gold Coast while visiting relatives here and on a whim went out looking at property. This place was in complete & total disrepair but we loved the location because it was on a very quiet street but close enough to town and the train station to walk easily. We also loved that it was a single level house on a gorgeous, level lot surrounded by trees for extraordinary privacy. We spent three years remodeling the house. That included putting on an addition for the master suite & office. Every detail was carefully thought out and no expense was spared to make it perfect. Remodeling is never an easy proposition, but for us, this was a labor of love, and I think the end result speaks for itself.
Whether you stay for a week or a month it will be a memorable and unforgettable "Gold Coast" experience. The setting is extraordinary and yet you are not much more than a stone's throw from NYC. A few days of exploring and you will understand why the captains of industry choose to build their incredible estates here.

Due to the high cost of running the AC at low settings and running the pool heater at high settings a $2500 deposit will be taken for electricity usage for the month of August. A refund will be returned to the renter for the difference between the $2000 and the actual bill, if the electric bill for August is less than $2000.
