WE'RE SORRY FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE: NO PARTIES, NO FILMING, NO DISCOUNTS FROM THE MONTHLY RATE FOR LONGER STAYS.
This darling one-bedroom home rests on a quiet tree-lined street in a highly-desirable Toluca Lake neighborhood. Enjoy the large eat-in kitchen and generous living space.
Most of the house has hardwood floors. There's a large carpeted den area with a brand new 40-inch Samsung TV with dish network. This room opens onto the back patio and spacious yard.
On the other side of the large kitchen, you'll find a living room and piano room at the front of the house.
The bathroom has a separate tub and shower as well as a large venting skylight.
The bedroom has a new queen bed and mattress. There is no tv in the bedroom area at this time.
The house is on central a/c and heat, so please set it to whatever makes you comfortable.
If you're looking for a super modern-looking house, this isn't the place for you. The decor is very much as our dear mother left it, including some of her original paintings which reflect her joyful spirit.
Though the house is dated in style, you'll find it very clean and comfortable. We're happy to consider a dog under the right circumstances (i.e. small, clean, well-behaved, and not left unattended), and the huge gated back yard is yours to enjoy, although WE GENERALLY DO NOT OFFER THE HOUSE FOR PARTIES OR OTHER EVENTS FOR LIABILITY AND OTHER REASONS INCLUDING CONSIDERATION OF OUR NEIGHBORS. EVEN IF IF YOU HAVE A RELATIVELY TAME EVENT COMING UP, SUCH AS A BABY SHOWER, PLEASE CONTACT ME BY PHONE TO DISCUSS YOUR SITUATION RATHER THAN SUBMITTING AN INQUIRY THROUGH THE WEBSITE.
The driveway is yours to use for up to two cars, and if you have family come to visit, it's easy to park right in front of the house as well.
There is a back apartment, essentially a mother-in-law suite, which has no shared walls with the front of the house other than one bathroom wall. There are two sets of locked doors between this apartment and the main part of the house which we offer in this listing, so you will find your space to be as safe and private as can be. In part to prevent the house ever sitting empty between guests, we sometimes have one or the other of the two property managers (Linda or Kevin) staying in this back apartment. It will never be another short-term renter as we want your stay to be relaxing and predictable. if you have any questions about this, please don't hesitate to ask.
We're very conveniently located for industry professionals working at Disney, Warner Bros., Universal, etc.. Also, the famous NoHo Arts District is just a few blocks away.
Riverside Drive is also very close, with wonderful dining and shopping.
Please come enjoy a very warm and homey place for you next visit!
I'm a 50-something professional in the entertainment industry. I enjoy hosting and having people enjoy this special property.
I grew up here with my two brothers, and I live just 5 minutes away. The three of us love this house and all of the wonderful memories. We don't always offer it for holidays since we enjoy meeting up around the dining room table with each other as well as friends and relatives.
You'll have all the space you need, but if anything comes up during your stay, I'm just five minutes away.
We enjoyed our stay in this charming home located in a beautiful area. On arrival we found everything we needed, in fact the home is so well stocked it felt like we were staying in someones home while they were away. The scattering of decor and personal paintings on the wall contributed to the homey atmosphere. The location is perfect and we enjoyed our morning and evening walks through the neighborhood with our little dog. The dog LOVED the enclosed back yard and although it was unseasonably warm while we were there the covered patio is wonderful! Elizabeth and Ken were great to work with from our initial booking request to our departure. Always available and very accommodating. We were visiting our son who lived only a few short blocks away, so this will definitely be our home away from home when we return!
The house is well maintained and clean with a unique feeling of openness all on one level except small step down to back living room. If I needed anything there was an almost immediate response as well as tips about local things to do, restaurants and grocery stores. The neighbors are friendly and the area was quiet and private. I frequently chose to walk to some nearby places including the person I came to visit. I ended up doing lots of major cooking with a great array of utensils and many basics along with lots of spices were in the cabinet. There is an abundance of seating and it is easy to stretch out and enjoy variety of channels on big screen TV. Internet service is steady and fast. There is a pleasant shaded back porch with a swing that one of my visitors took a nap in while relaxing. The back yard is private, locked and fenced. Some attractive plantings in the front yard but less so in back. The driveway is short and wide for easy access and parking. North Hollywood with nearby free parking allowed for train travel to some congested LA areas was a plus and the Burbank airport is no more than 15 min away. My family visited me during my stay for family dinners, played the piano that is there for some indoor recreation and generally had a great time while there with friendly, helpful hosts.
Everything about our stay was perfect. The owners are so sweet and accommodating. We have found our home away from home!!!
1. Elizabeth is the best host I've ever had at VRBO or AirBNB. She's super friendly, on top of everything and totally a pleasure to deal with in every way.
2. The house is beautiful, comfortable and a total steal. I come into LA for business so this place actually makes me feel like I have a home to come to at the end of the day. It's old school awesome in a way that hipsters on pinterest can only try to mimic. From the eclectic book collection to the beautiful piano to the truly amazing backyard this isn't just a crash pad, it's a beautiful home that you can call yours for a few nights!
3. The location is perfect. A quiet, peaceful neighborhood that's an easy jump to good restaurants, groceries and the freeways so that you can get to any sight you'd like to see very easily.
4. Just stay here already. Seriously.
My stay at the Ledge house was an absolute breath of fresh air. With the usual stay at some generic hotel, this lovely, 1940's home, with a charming back garden, was a very welcome change. Nestled in a sweet and comfortable neighborhood just minutes from "downtown" Toluca Lake, it offered a quiet and tranquil place after a hectic day in the hubbub of Los Angeles. You'll certainly enjoy coming "home" to the "Ledge house."
Came to LA to visit family. Loved the area! Original Bob's Big Boy in Toluca Lake is a must. Close to Universal and other film studios. House is very cozy. Quiet neighborhood and hassle free parking (not always the case in L.A.)
2 miles to Universal Studios, 1.7 miles to NoHo Metro Station. Very convenient for Disney Studios, Warner Bros, and other industry locations. NoHo Arts District, Historic Riverside Drive, Gene Autry Museum, endless restaurants.
