Lake Wylie Waterfront 3 Bed, 2.5 Bath Peninsula Cabin.

Coming to Charlotte for business or pleasure? Instead of a hotel room next to Groucho Snoresnuffer, stay in a private waterfront '80's cabin half an hour from downtown Charlotte, and within 10 minutes of restaurants, grocery stores, and business districts. When we say waterfront, we mean water views of Lake Wylie from EVERY window in this cozy cabin. However, please don't waste my time or yours by offering us a cut rate rent; we give our best price to every guest, and are not interested in engaging in flea market negotiations with potential guests.

Master bedroom on main with king bed, 2nd bedroom upstairs with queen. Third bedroom has a full bed. Equipped kitchen, coffee maker, tea kettle, microwave, stove, oven, refrigerator, dishwasher. Welcome to peaceful, serene lakefront living. Just 30 minutes south of downtown Charlotte, but off the grid to the point of .7 miles down a gravel road! Enjoy jumping fish, basking turtles, soaring eagles, and lake breezes while staying in this heavily windowed, wrap-around deck, newly painted and refreshed 80's cabin. We have a eight person maximum, and unregistered guests and vehicles are not permitted on the property. Guests are renting a place to stay, not a place to entertain. (Sorry, this home is not available for rent for parties/ large groups of any variety, and unregistered persons on the property will forfeit your security deposit) We do not have a boat dock; no motorized boats allowed on the property.

What makes this house unique

Love seeing the Blue Heron, hawks, turtles, fish jumping, etc. every day! And sometimes the bald eagles will come out to play above the water :-)

The owners are extremely accommodating and welcoming. They answered all of our questions and provided us with any assistance before our arrival, while respecting our privacy during our stay. The house is spacious and well-kept. The outdoor space includes a deck with ample room and a flat yard which extends onto a peninsula and provides 180+ degree water views. The dock is large enough to accommodate four adults and provides easy access into and out of the water. The water is clean and clear with no weeds to be found. It is also on a relatively quite finger of the lake which is well suited for swimming and other leisure activities. Would definitely visit again and recommend.

Roomy and comfortable

We all enjoyed our stay here. It is an older and well-used building and is showing some wear. On the plus side it is big and roomy. Beds are king sized. The AC kept us at a cool 75deg when it was 95+ outside. There is a beach for swimming. The dining table has room for the gang. The kitchen was generally well-equipped.

On the negative side, the BBQ is a cheap one and threatened to collapse. There were no BBQ tongs or wire brush so we added them to the tool set. The living room has room for 4 in comfort but is missing chairs for the other 4. Having no washer dryer was a pain. I think someone turned it into a party house one weekend and there are strong rules against inviting anyone to visit without paying another 15 bucks or getting kicked out.

Those faults aside, it worked well for us. Our granddaughters were competing at the BMX Worlds in Rock Hill which was a short drive. We could get the Charlotte attractions easily.

I apologize about the old grill-- the push button start on it quit working between guests 2 weeks ago, and my husband is on his way to install the new one this morning. Thank you also for the chance to emphasize again, in addition to the rental contract, that our lake home is not a place to rent when you want to entertain people (day or night) who aren't paid or registered guests, without exception. We invite specific guests (the ones who are paid and registered) to our home. As is very common when a person is a guest, they do not have free reign to invite their own, uninvited guests..... so yes, our house is emphatically not a party house. If that is a persons purpose we have done everything possible to let them know ours is not the house for them. We are grateful you had such a lovely stay with us and pray you have happy travels!

Comfortable and quiet.

The house is extremely comfortable and easily handled our group of six. Located directly on the lake, the house gives a sense of seclusion while still being just a short drive to anything you might want to do in the city. Jeannie was very helpful and friendly, walking us through the quirks of the property and having the house well prepared to live in. If you're looking for a quiet place to stay with family or friends I would definitely recommend this property.

Had the most wonderful and peaceful vacation!!

We had the most wonderful and memorable stay at the Lake House. We felt so much at home. Jeannie made herself available, when we needed to ask questions, she was extremely helpful, friendly and hospitable. What we enjoyed most was the quietness and the gorgeous view of the lake. We were able to cook and not having to go out to eat on a daily basis. It was one of our best and memorable stay as a family. We would use this property anytime, our family continues to talk about the stay and share pictures. The house was clean, there were plenty of clean linen, utensils, and other necessary items we needed. My family and I have no complaints, but just to say THANK YOU once again, we had the Most wonderful Christmas at the Lake House. Looking forward to visiting The Seanor Lake House again. Best wishes!!!

Comfortable and Affordable Lake House

I was in trouble.

I needed a home that could accommodate my VERY large family who was planning weekend boating shenanigans (which meant we needed a lakefront property) AND would be affordable at the same time.

Could such a property exist?

Indeed! The fabulous Seanor lake house!

First off, communicating with Jeannie was an absolute pleasure-- incredibly friendly, warmhearted, responsive and generous enough to accommodate my unusual circumstances (for an additional fee) when other owners wouldn't give me the time of day to voice my plea.

Based on other reviews of this property, it appears there might be a bit of controversy regarding the condition of the house. Let me assure you that this house is NOT a dump. Yes, the listing clearly indicates that it's not a state-of-the-art home with stainless steel appliances and what-have-you. What it does have is a spacious kitchen which allows you to cook like Julia Child (maybe not enough gadgets to do so, but there's enough), a huge dining table for 10 to feast at, incredibly comfortable beds, a huge living room, and spectacular views of the lake from both inside and outside (a fabulous wrap-around deck). Most importantly, the entire house was clean. Yeeees, there's some water stains in the toilet and the shower stall is stained blue from soap, but it's not a big deal. Imperfections like these are minor considering everything you get from the rental for such a reasonable nightly rate. Trust me, the place is clean enough.

Let's move on.

There exists a small beach/sandy area from which to wade into the lake. There is a short trail you must walk down which can be tricky while wearing flip-flops. Not recommended for older adults that might need assistance to walk. Otherwise, it's perfectly acceptable.

The only negative comment I have to offer regarding this property was our inability to use the advertised dock, which is now off-limits due to its condition. I had made arrangements to rent a pontoon boat for a day and not having a place to keep it when it wasn't in use was a headache. But my family made it work regardless, so everything worked out at the end. Jeannie, I think you should probably update the listing to address the inaccessibility of the dock.

All in all, my experience renting this home was a positive one. If you're looking for an unpretentious lake house for a family-friendly vacation, this place will work for you!

Amazing location. Absolute pleasure to stay here!

Jeannie opened the space up to us with so much love. She gave us everything we needed to assure that we would have a wonderful stay. The location is beautiful, being right on the lake. The water was perfect to swim in. The house was just great. Clean rooms. Beautfiul space. Looking forward to returning in October!

Talk about getting away from it all, but being 5 or 6 miles away from most anything you would want! Cabin is actually .7 miles down a gravel road, on a .70 acre Lake Wylie peninsula lot. About 7 miles away from I-77 Gold Hill Road exit; 30 minutes from downtown Charlotte (except at rush hour). Minutes from Tega Cay golf course; within 15 minutes of Narroway Christian Theater, the Broadway of Christian entertainment.

SHORT TERM RENTAL AGREEMENT
This Short Term Rental Agreement is made by and between Homeowner and Guest as of the date last set forth on the signature page of this Agreement. For good and valuable consideration, the sufficiency of which is acknowledged, the parties hereby agree as follows:
Property. The property is located at: 16920 Landover Road, Charlotte, NC 28278
1. The property is furnished and includes linens and towels.
2. Rental Party: The rental party shall consist only of Guests registered on VRBO registration.
3. Maximum Occupancy: The maximum number of guests is limited to 8-- this cabin is not rented as a party house.
4. Term of the Lease. The lease begins at 4 p.m. on Check-in Date and ends at 11:00am on Checkout Date.
5. Minimum Stay: This property requires a 3 night minimum stay. Longer minimum stays may be required during holiday periods. If a rental is taken for less than 3 days, the guest will be charged the 3-night rate.
6. Rental Rules: Guest agrees to abide by the Rental Rules attached as Exhibit A at all times while at the property and shall cause all members of the rental party and anyone else Guest permits on the property to abide by the following rules at all times while at the property.
7. Access: Guest shall allow Homeowner access to the property for purposes of repair and inspection. Homeowner shall exercise this right of access in a reasonable manner..
RENTAL RULES
The dock and swim platform is currently in need of repair and closed. It is not available to tie up your boat to..... the wood, cleats and design are not suitable for this purpose.
This property is surrounded on 3 sides by water, so this will not be appropriate for children who can open doors, cannot swim, and/ or are prone to wander off.
Smoking is allowed outside only, and cigarette butts are to be collected and stored in your car for disposal.
People other than those in the Guest party set forth are not permitted on the property; unregistered guests

Owner's Cancellation Policy

  • 50% refund for cancellations more than 30 days before check-in date.
