About the property

1 Bedroom Plus Sleeping Loft, 1 Bathroom, River And Hillside Views

Old Mill Cottage was one of the first few cabins built in the little coastal village known as 'Jenner by the Sea'. In 1904, it served as one of the bunkhouses for the workers of the lumber mill. While keeping its turn of the century charm the cottage has been updated to welcome travelers and provide a perfect getaway where one can enjoy a relaxing, rejuvenating experience. Old Mill offers a comfy bedroom downstairs and a cozy loft that sleeps 2 as well. It has a full kitchen that is well appointed and comes with complimentary coffee and fruit bowl. Step outside to a private deck with a hillside garden, gas grill and beautiful mosaic table and bar - just right for a quiet morning meal or spectacular sunset.

About Rick and Debi Sante

We have lived in and around sonoma county for many years and have finally worked our way to the coastal vistas and small town serenity of Jenner.

Rick and Debi Sante purchased this cottage in 1990

Why Rick and Debi Sante chose North Coast California

From the moment we turned onto Hwy 1 heading north and saw the Jenner rocks nestled in the Pacific Ocean at the mouth of the Russian River, we knew this little coastal beauty was special. The majestic view and the friendly, artistic community are just among a few of the reasons why we love our little place in Jenner.

What makes this cottage unique

The surrounding area is home to breathtaking views, amazing wildlife, acres of parkland and accessible beaches, the Jenner Headlands Preserve, and is an avenue inland to the acclaimed wine country of Sonoma and Napa County.

Great, relaxing place to enjoy

  • 4 of 5

We had a great time staying at the cottage. Really nice to use as a jumping off point to explore the Russian river/Sonoma coastline. Or stay and relax in peace and quiet. Very comfortable and clean. With a wonderful, private deck. Has all you need. The only small recommendation is for the replacement of the shower head, it's a little prickly. But that's a minor thing, compared to everything it has to offer.

Sisters Vacation 2017

  • 5 of 5

My sisters and I had not been together for awhile and wanted a quiet and beautiful place to spend a few days together. My sister suggested we try VRBO. The pics on the site of the Old Mill Cottage in Jenner were just what we were looking for. I have to say it was just perfect. We loved the cottage, the people and the Jenner area. We especially loved the little diner on the Russian River where we had clam chowder and coffees. Our walks on the beaches were spectacular. The cottage was filled with all the items we needed just like home so we cooked most of our meals there. The owner of the cottage was extremely polite and respected our privacy. We intend to stay there in the future.

Perfect Stay on Sonoma Coast

  • 5 of 5

Jenner was a wonderful and relaxing spot to spend a few days on the Sonoma coast. The Old Mill Cottage was incredibly comfortable and a great place to come back after a day of wine tasting, shopping, and exploring the beaches and forests in this beautiful part of the world. We went to River's End restaurant for an amazing dinner of wild king salmon on the first night of our arrival--it was perfect. Hoping to return to this special place!

Warm and cozy cottage!

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed staying at the Old Mill Cottage while we attended our niece's wedding at St. Coleman's Outdoor Church. The kitchen is well stocked, which made cooking a delight. Lots of privacy with the wrap around deck. It was nice to use the binoculars to see an eagle flying around and hunting. This was a very clean cottage and very charming.
