About the property

1 Bedroom Plus Sleeping Loft, 1 Bathroom, River And Hillside Views

Old Mill Cottage was one of the first few cabins built in the little coastal village known as 'Jenner by the Sea'. In 1904, it served as one of the bunkhouses for the workers of the lumber mill. While keeping its turn of the century charm the cottage has been updated to welcome travelers and provide a perfect getaway where one can enjoy a relaxing, rejuvenating experience. Old Mill offers a comfy bedroom downstairs and a cozy loft that sleeps 2 as well. It has a full kitchen that is well appointed and comes with complimentary coffee and fruit bowl. Step outside to a private deck with a hillside garden, gas grill and beautiful mosaic table and bar - just right for a quiet morning meal or spectacular sunset.

About Rick and Debi Sante

We have lived in and around sonoma county for many years and have finally worked our way to the coastal vistas and small town serenity of Jenner.

Rick and Debi Sante purchased this cottage in 1990

Why Rick and Debi Sante chose North Coast California

From the moment we turned onto Hwy 1 heading north and saw the Jenner rocks nestled in the Pacific Ocean at the mouth of the Russian River, we knew this little coastal beauty was special. The majestic view and the friendly, artistic community are just among a few of the reasons why we love our little place in Jenner.

What makes this cottage unique

The surrounding area is home to breathtaking views, amazing wildlife, acres of parkland and accessible beaches, the Jenner Headlands Preserve, and is an avenue inland to the acclaimed wine country of Sonoma and Napa County.

A lovely spot, lovely hosts

  • 5 of 5

This is a perfect little spot right in Jenner. The cottage is cute and well-appointed. We were welcomed with fruit on the table and sparkly in the frig. We ran into the hosts when we first arrived but other than that we felt we had our own private place.

There were four of us for a HS reunion and it was very comfortable.

We walked just a block down the hill to store and restaurants. Watched the sunset over the ocean cliffs from a 5 minute drive.

I would absolutely recommend the Old Mill Cottage.

Gorgeous spot!

  • 4 of 5

We have very mixed feelings about this location. The location is perfect, and the place was immaculately clean. It was well appointed and when we had a problem because the grill was out of propane, the host came over right away and helped us. On the downside, the upstairs room is up an extremely steep, dangerous stairway. All four of us were in our early 70s/late 60s and it was hard for us to go up and down. There should be something in the description warning older people and families with small children to stay away.

Beautiful setting at a reasonable price

  • 5 of 5

We had stayed at a hotel in Santa Rosa the night before we arrived at this cottage, and we were really struck with how much we got for our money at this property. It was clean and pleasantly decorated, with a beautiful view of the Russian River, right near the ocean. We just had two of us in our party, but it would be very comfortable with more guests. It was extremely quiet and relaxing.

Great, relaxing place to enjoy

  • 4 of 5

We had a great time staying at the cottage. Really nice to use as a jumping off point to explore the Russian river/Sonoma coastline. Or stay and relax in peace and quiet. Very comfortable and clean. With a wonderful, private deck. Has all you need. The only small recommendation is for the replacement of the shower head, it's a little prickly. But that's a minor thing, compared to everything it has to offer.
