Overview

About the property

1 Bedroom Plus Sleeping Loft, 1 Bathroom, River And Hillside Views

Old Mill Cottage was one of the first few cabins built in the little coastal village known as 'Jenner by the Sea'. In 1904, it served as one of the bunkhouses for the workers of the lumber mill. While keeping its turn of the century charm the cottage has been updated to welcome travelers and provide a perfect getaway where one can enjoy a relaxing, rejuvenating experience. Old Mill offers a comfy bedroom downstairs with a queen size bed and a cozy loft with a full size bed that sleeps 2 as well. We would like to note , that the stairs to the loft are steep and not recommended for little ones or someone who has difficulty with stairs. It has a full kitchen that is well appointed and comes with a complimentary coffee and goodie basket. Step outside to a private deck with a hillside garden, gas grill and beautiful mosaic table and bar - just right for a quiet morning meal or spectacular sunset.

About Debi and Rick Sante

We have lived in and around sonoma county for many years and have finally worked our way to the coastal vistas and small town serenity of Jenner.

Debi and Rick Sante purchased this cottage in 1990

Why Debi and Rick Sante chose Jenner

From the moment we turned onto Hwy 1 heading north and saw the Jenner rocks nestled in the Pacific Ocean at the mouth of the Russian River, we knew this little coastal beauty was special. The majestic view and the friendly, artistic community are just among a few of the reasons why we love our little place in Jenner.

What makes this cottage unique

The surrounding area is home to breathtaking views, amazing wildlife, acres of parkland and accessible beaches, the Jenner Headlands Preserve, and is an avenue inland to the acclaimed wine country of Sonoma and Napa County.

We hope to return

  • 5 of 5

They delivered everything they promised and more. The place was very clean. The deck and views are Worth the rental. The bed was comfortable. I would be careful who would use the upstairs loft. The steps are narrow and steep. The shared laundry was terrific and convenient. I enjoyed the owners’ art and sense of aesthetic. The details were well designed.

Wonderful cottage gem on the coast

  • 5 of 5

Rick and Debi have created a lovely place to relax and enjoy the Sonoma Coast line. The cottage was well appointed, spotlessly clean, very comfortable and absolutely charming. The deck with the BBQ and the patio seating was put to well use. The kitchen had everything you would need to create delicious food. The beds were very comfortable. I would recommend this property and hope to return again.

Wonderful!

We had an incredible couple of days here and wish it could have been longer. Debi and Rick have done such an impressive job with the cottage, with lots of artistic touches, that we hate to let others in on the secret! Thank you so much!

Beautiful and Relaxing

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I booked the Old Mill Cottage while planning a trip to the Russian River Valley area wineries. We absolutely loved this place. The inside has been totally redecorated (compared with the pictures when we booked). It is so warm and welcoming. The deck overlooking the Russian River was perfect for morning coffee, lunch, or an evening glass of wine. It was an easy location for us to find great restaurants. We rented kayaks within walking distance, hiked the redwoods at Armstrong Woods nearby, drove along the coast to Bodega Bay, and visited at least 10 of the many many wonderful wineries.

Clean, cute, comfortable

  • 5 of 5

Old Mill Cottage was perfect for a relaxing getaway. This little cottage is better than the pictures, it has everything you need for a comfortable, peaceful week away. Great hiking, many options from easy to difficult a quick drive away, good dining, cute boutique shopping in Duncan Mills and GREAT wine tasting all around. The views from Hwy 1 are a thing of beauty. We will definitely be back!
