Just steps from the US Capitol in historic Capitol Hill, this 1 Bedroom/1 Bathroom unit sleeps 4 with a full size sleeper sofa in the living room. Complete refurbishment completed in July 2015 with meticulous attention to detail. Master bedroom suite includes a queen size bed and spa quality bathroom. Kitchen equipped with custom-made cabinetry, granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances including a Sub Zero refrigerator. Other amenities include a 48-inch LED flat panel television with satellite HDTV and wireless high-speed internet. Full size front loading washer and dryer located in the unit. Bedroom back door opens to a patio and large deck above the garage perfect for outdoor entertaining.

*** Please note, this is a historic house built in 1890, and while the entire house has been renovated and efforts made to soundproof between the units, the fact is noise will still travel from the main floor of the unit above to the basement. Guests in both units are asked to be considerate of their neighbors.

Extremely convenient location... only 2 blocks from Union Station and Metro, 1 and a half blocks from Massachusetts Avenue restaurants/bars and local coffeehouses, and 6 blocks or less from the US Capitol, Senate office buildings, Library of Congress and the Supreme Court. Nestled within the long rows of neighborhood homes you will find pockets of excitement ranging from a multitude of eating establishments to DC's only remaining original public produce market, known as Eastern Market. And of course it's extremely close proximity to the Capitol and various Smithsonian museums puts you literally at the doorstep of our nation's history. It is an absolutely wonderful location for both residents and visitors alike!

What makes this townhome unique

No expense was spared in remodeling and furnishing this house. You will be staying in an historic home complete with modern amenities. Location-wise, everything you need (restaurants, groceries, shopping, Metro) is within 2 blocks and everything you want to see (Capitol, Library of Congress, National Mall, Smithsonian museums) is just a few blocks further and within easy walking distance. Live amongst the locals and truly feel at home during your visit!

great location, nice apartment. as advertisd and we had a very nice stay and would stay again. comfy bed and nice amenities. only complaint - sheets on foldout bed are worn and top sheet has two holes in it. heads up to owner: coffee maker doesnt automatically turn off and boils coffee to residue; light bulbs over breakfast counter need replacement. otherwise, very nice.

Convenient

Perfect location to walk to many of the DC sites. Having Union Kitchen Grocery literally steps away proved beneficial. We ended up eating breakfast, cocktails & dinner in with food/drinks gathered at Union. The deck was a perfect place to relax, enjoy the fall weather, chat and watch the squirrels. It would have been a 5 star stay if the people in the flat above removed their shoes. We heard adults stomping around at 2am and kids running all over at 6am - can't say we got much rest as a result. The flat could use some extra blankets, otherwise it was well appointed. The owner was quick to respond, provided useful information and refunded the security deposit in a timely manner. If you want to feel like a DC resident in a neighborhood with friendly people out walking dogs & pushing strollers this is the spot.

Rating not a 5 due to owner vagueness about parking. Yes, there is a 2 car garage for tenant usage (huge in the 2 hour street parking residential neighborhood), but we were not given any instructions how to open garage from outside "alley", nor did we know (until arrival) that we were to share garage with possible upstairs renters. Just so happened, we both had cars and both did not fit in the garage. Other tenant had a rental car and graciously returned to airport to get a smaller car so both would ultimately fit. Street parking is not an option.

We would absolutely return to the condo -- if we did not have a car -- or if we had a small car.

Comfortable Stay in a Great Neighborhood

Our family of four enjoyed our six night stay. We were able to quickly access many services through nearby Union Station (including the Metro) and walk to many destinations around DC from this apartment. The neighborhood was relaxed and inviting. Returning to 'our own place' in the evening that was clean, comfortable, and with the amenities we needed was a real treat (especially the air conditioning in during a heat wave).

A couple of maintenance issues arose before our arrival. The owner made us aware of the issues prior to our arrival and was good at communicating and coordinating with us and with the maintenance team to address the issues.
