2 Master Suites -ideal for two couples with relaxing view of the river
About Delores Castleberry
This is my second house to add to our vacation rental ownership portfolio. The house had originally belong to a family member. When it came up for sale, my husband and I decided to not let it out of the family. My kids, niece and nephew had great fun canoeing up and down the Pedernales River directly behind this river cottage.
Delores Castleberry purchased this Cottage in 2018
Why Delores Castleberry chose Stonewall
We love the convenience of this house as well as the water view from the back patio. In addition, this house is located right in the heart of the 290 Wine Trail. There are many wineries just east of us and many just west of us. There is probably 30 wineries with in 10 miles of this location. No matter how dry the Pedernales river gets, there is always water standing behind the house, thanks to a bridge that dams up the water shortly down stream.
What makes this Cottage unique
Not many vacation rental houses can say they share the same street address as a former president. Lyndon B Johnson's ranch house is just a couple of miles down our street. I love the history of this area and having many young adult memories of the events that occurred while LBJ was president, I am soulfully attached to this area.

Thanks for the great review. You mentioned some great eateries! Hope you keep us in mind if you return to the area.
Just minutes away from so many wineries and lovely city of Fredricksburg, quiet, peaceful and just all around relaxing. The owner was very accessible by phone and helpful. I definitely recommend this property.
Thanks for selecting our property. We are glad you had a great weekend. Come again!
great spot on the river
Nice cozy spot for casual grilling and fishing. An older property but nothing lacking. Mostly fenced but if you have a curious dog you might have to keep an eye on them.
Thanks for coming! Hope you caught some fish.
Family Summer getaway
This home/property is AMAZING. We took my aging parents, my teen boys and daughter. It was fun for everyone. It’s peaceful, plenty of property for our dogs and kids to run around. The kayak and canoe were a big hit. The large trees provide plenty of shade. The home is spacious and comfortable and super clean. It is very well stocked with everything we needed. The owner is very nice and accommodating. The river was perfect for us to take a refreshing swim and even did some fishing. We loved it!!
We were so glad this trip worked out for you and your family. It was warm weather so I am glad you were able to cool off in the river. We will be here if you decide to come again!
Great location with things to do both ways! Enjoyed waking up and sitting on back porch to see the river! Beautiful house and wonderful people to rent from!
Thank you very much. It was a pleasure to meet you and your wonderful family. It was a pleasure to have you.
Trip to Luckenback
Great experience. The owner is very easy to reach and all instructions were easy to follow. Location was just what we needed. Recommend this property.
Our property is located within 10 miles of 30 different wine tasting, right in the middle of all the action. Travel east or go west, you won't have to go far to enjoy wine tasting, shops, and sights. Closest winery is less than a mile away. Luckenbach (town and dancehall made famous by Willie, Waylon and the boys) is 9 miles away. A similar venue called Albert Ice House is 3 miles away (great place to sit under the huge Oak Trees or under the stars, drink your favorite cold beverage, eat from a fabulous food truck and listen to live music. You won't be disappointed). History buffs will enjoy the picturesque LBJ Ranch and Park just a short 2 miles down the quiet Ranch Road 1. Just a short 15 miles drive west is Fredericksburg, with it's historic buildings, great boutique shopping and German food (ask owner for recommendations). While in Fredericksburg, take in the renowned National Museum of the Pacific War, located in part of Admiral Nimitz's grandfather's hotel which was a landmark for Fredericksburg since the late 1800's and a center for many social activities. 17 miles north of Fredericksburg is Enchanted Rock State Park (a great place to hike). 15 miles East of the property is Johnson City, the town where Lyndon Johnson grew up. Visit LBJ's grandfather's ranch and see living history. There are great restaurants, breweries, as well as interesting shops in Johnson City. Just beyond Johnson City, 9 miles to the east, is Pedernales State Park, a great place to hike and view nature at it's best. Take a drive north on 281 and view the beautiful constant-level Lake LBJ. There is a weeks worth of activities to take in while visiting the area.
