Furnished One bedroom Apartment with panoramic views from private deck

One bedroom, full bathroom, equipped kitchen, dining area, and living room with panoramic views from private deck. Nestled in Northern Dutchess County, our location is convenient and within a short drive to towns such as Red Hook, Rhinebeck, Hyde Park, Poughkeepsie, Millbrook, Pleasant Valley, and Pine Plains. Guests will pull up our private driveway and be able to walk upstairs to a private deck surrounding this newly renovated apartment that is separate from our main house. Walk inside to see a charming living room and kitchen area complete with appliances and furnishings (some new, some refurbished from our local antique stores) to make you feel comfortable and welcomed.

There is a full bath with towels provided, just bring your own toiletries.

The bedroom has a queen-sized bed, dresser, mirror and two nightstands. Linens and extra pillows are also provided.

Enjoy your morning coffee on the deck with a peaceful view of Buttercup Wildlife Sanctuary, which is right next to our property. Hiking trails are within a short walk from Harley's Hideaway. Take a short drive to one of the nearby towns to enjoy biking, local wineries, attend a course at the Omega Institute, great restaurants and attractions held at the Dutchess County Fair. Our central location offers convenience in this area for those who may need overnight accommodations to attend family events or other celebrations.

Unfortunately, more than two guests cannot be accommodated at this time.

About Stephanie Thatcher

With my husband and two children, we moved up to Stanfordville 31 years ago. Although the commute to Westchester was long, we fell in love with this area and knew it was where we wanted to raise our family. We've enjoyed many years of hosting annual parties at our home and our relatives enjoy travelling north for a getaway to the country. In 2016, I retired after 39+ years with IBM and enjoy the time to focus on other interests, impromptu getaways, and managing Harley's Hideaway.

Why Stephanie Thatcher chose Hudson Valley

This part of the Hudson Valley is beautiful and it's a hidden gem. Large hotels are not nearby so staying in a private, updated apartment that is close to horse events, antiques, bike trails, events in Rhinebeck or other nearby towns are all appealing reasons for guests travelling in this area. Our guests have said we are a good "base" location. Some guests like to have the option to prepare their own foods instead of eating out for all meals.

What makes this apartment unique

The views from the deck are panoramic. Guests can enjoy morning tranquility sipping coffee on the private deck that overlooks the Buttercup Audubon Sanctuary. Relax with no set time for meals (you prepare all meals at your convenience). We renovated the apartment in 2015 and have refurbished furniture purchased from our local stores. The apartment is clean and updated. Our accommodations will make our guests feel welcome. Great restaurants are nearby.

Stephanie and Art are excellent hosts and Harley's Hideaway apartment is exceptionally comfortable and well-appointed with all the essentials necessary for a quiet, relaxing get-away vacation or end-of-the-day retreat. The location is outstanding for watching birds or deer from the patio overlooking the adjacent Buttercup Sanctuary. With excellent WiFi access you can easily stay connected and cable TV ensures you won't miss favorite TV programs.

Wonderful apartment with all the essential amenities and unbelievable quiet tranquility.

Hosts Stephanie and Art are great and were always eager to ensure that my stay was comfortable and that I had everything I needed. The apartment is wonderfully modern and has all of the essential amenities that my combined business and pleasure trip required; WiFi connection was always available and had a strong signal, my cellular phone had great reception, and Skype sessions were without difficulty.

When I wanted to set the business for the day aside, the outside deck provided splendid tranquility and amazing scenery. The deer grazing in the fields provided a great setting that melted all cares and worries, or at least put them in proper prospective.

I would strongly recommend Harley's Hideaway to anyone wishing to stay in the Hudson Valley area.

Charming Upstate Retreat

My husband and I needed a place to stay after attending a nearby wedding. Harley's Hideaway was perfect. The apartment was detached from the main house so there was tons of privacy. Everything was super clean and modern. The owners were very accomodating when we needed to check in early and they did a great job of preparing us with the necessary information in advance of our stay. I would definitely come back if we were in the neighborhood again.

Home away from home!

Harley's Hideaway is absolute perfection! I needed a place to stay for a month to enjoy the arrival of my first grandchild. I lived in this area of Dutchess Co. my entire life until I retired to SC 7 months ago, and was so pleased and happy to find such a wonderful place to stay. The owners are very gracious and attentive, and have created a beautiful hideaway with everything you could possibly need. It's very clean and comfortable, and the views off the deck are beautiful and relaxing. I'm just sorry I will be missing the Fall foliage as I'm sure it will be just amazing. There are many places to visit and explore in the area and nearby, and brochures are available with ideas. I would not hesitate to stay here again in the future and highly recommend Harley's Hideaway as a fabulous place to stay. A huge thank you to the owners for making my stay so pleasurable. Just loved it here!

Dutchess County Fairgrounds is a wonderful venue for seasonal events from May through October and is within a 25-minute scenic drive. Innisfree Gardens , voted one of the worlds 10 best gardens in Millbrook, NY is a must-see for those new to this area. Buttercup Farm Audubon Sanctuary borders our property and hiking trails are within a two minute drive. "Walk over the Hudson", as well as bike trails are within a 30 minute drive. Horseback riding nearby. This area also attracts many weekend motorcyclists who enjoy touring the countryside.

Parking available for one car, and guests will have access to the apartment facilities. Apartment is at the top of a full flight of outdoor stairs. Guests may walk around the property in the front and back yards (5 acres total). No access to deck on main house.

Apartment newly renovated and equipped with central heating and cooling. Food and beverages are not provided. Coffee-maker is on premises with kitchen amenities. Guests should bring their own food, or can buy groceries locally. There are very good restaurants within a short driving distance. Local grocery store closes by 7 p.m., however, larger markets (or drug store) are open later and within a 25 minute drive.

No more than the two registered guests allowed on premises. No parties. No smoking anywhere on property. No children. No pets. Apartment is not handicapped-accessible.
