About Thomas Boucher

This is a second generation property with a new larger cabin that I built myself to accommodate our growing family of 5 with our first grandson on the way. We use the cabin mostly in the fall and winter hunting, ice fishing and snowmobiling. As a small business owner we unfortunately don't get to use it much spring and summer. Its an amazing location, so quite and relaxing.

Thomas Boucher purchased this cabin in 1974

The photos don't do this home justice

This was an amazing vacation rental. The location cannot be beat. Looking out across the lake to forest and mountains as far as you could see. This home had it all. It had the rustic feel of a sportsman's cabin combined with the comfort of a country home. Lots of room for a large gathering. Two bedrooms with king sized beds and easily room enough for 10 people (even though it said 8). I haven't been to Pittsburgh in a few years, this has access to what I view as the best ATV trail system in the state. The owner Thomas was friendly and accommodating. Easy to contact. We primarily went to fish, but as it rained for most of the trip, we spent a lot of time in the home. But with the wood stove keeping us warm, we sat and played board games or just talked. There is no tv or internet or phone service at the home (which was refreshing) So if you are going on vacation to sit and watch tv or play on the computer this isn't the place for you. If you are looking for outdoor activities, this is the place. Thank you Thomas for opening this wonderful place for our use

Great Place for our Winter Ice Fishing Trip on the Lake

  • 5 of 5

We were truly excited to find a place so beautiful on First Connecticut. It was exactly the getaway spot that our group was looking for, a rustic camp feel with amenities. We were able to ice fish right out front . The fully stocked kitchen was nice to have and allowed us to stay in and cook. Two king bedrooms and multiple twin beds in the loft worked out great. The weather was cold for our long weekend, but they had plenty of board games and books to enjoy in front of the wood stove. Tom was great to work with and we look forward to renting it again!

Well stocked kitchen. Great view. Good heating and right on the lake. Bird hunting hot spots literally 5 minutes from cabin!! Go find them.....I'm not telling. Very nice cabin and lots of room.

Location

This property in the heart of "Gods Country". As you look out over the lake you have Mt. Magalloway right in front of you. The lake is vastly undeveloped and extremely quite. Fishing, boating, hunting and relaxing at its finest.
