We stayed at chantala this year with our dog it was just perfect the cottage, the garden, the views, everything you needed plus more was available in the cottage and beds were comfortable. We also rented Jaynes other cottage just a few doors down called Otaio where our daughter stayed with her dog and that was just as good.

Thank you hope to be back

Superb location and a lovely warm holiday home

I spent 3 days here with my old English sheepdog. Absolutely excellent location; superb for long beach walks. An excellent holiday home; very spacious and has everything you need. Easy to book and a great price!

Great cottage with fantastic views

  • 5 of 5

Great cottage with home comforts. Our three dogs loved the secure garden as it was large enough for them to play in. The sunroom was enjoyed by myself for soaking up the sun whilst enjoying the wonderful view. Dog friendly beach only seconds away and you can walk for miles in each direction. Great holiday and if Jane will have us with our three dogs again we will definitely be back next year.

We really enjoyed our stay in Chantala, everything you might need in the kitchen was provided, property was very clean too. The view from the conservatory was superb. We were also allowed to take our 2 yorkies which was lovely and there was no charge, thank you Jayne.

Fabulous family break in a lovely cottage

  • 5 of 5

A cosy, inviting bungalow with views that were amazing. My husband, son (aged 3) and I were very pleased that we chose Chantala to stay in over the bank holiday weekend. In a lovely quiet area (we needed quiet as our son has autism and can become very distressed) Chantala ws perfect for a relaxing break. With the secure garden our son could play very happily and safely in the garden and we were able to fully relax (something we struggle to do). The local amenities were in easy reach and getting into Great Yarmouth was done in 15 minutes. We are definitely going to be booking Chantala again and can highly recommend Jayne as a very good, reliable and welcoming owner.

A delightful, homely, relaxing stay.

  • 5 of 5

Although the weather could have been better the homely cosy feel of the bungalow more then made up for it. The accomodation was clean, fully equipped, and well maintained and Jayne, the owner, provided a friendly greeting and good customer service. The view of the sea from the sun room was simply stunning and the large secure garden was ideal for our dog to enjoy herself too! There were plenty of places to visit within a reasonable distance and would certainly recommend this property to anyone, not just friends & family. Put it this way we will certainly be re-booking for next year!

Scratby village lies 6 miles north of Great Yarmouth on the Norfolk coast. Although Scratby is quiet and rural, shops and restaurants are within a 10 minute walk. Buses run regularly to Great Yarmouth which boasts every conceivable form of entertainment from dining out in style to traditional ‘bucket and spade’ holiday entertainment along the Golden Mile. In addition to several theatres hosting top entertainers, for those who enjoy a ‘flutter’, Great Yarmouth also has a race course, a greyhound stadium and 3 casinos. Although perhaps rather too busy for many of the locals, Great Yarmouth’s allure has had strong appeal for many ‘greats’: Charles Dickens made it one of his favourite haunts and ‘David Copperfield’ gives a good insight into the robust character of the indigenous population of this area. Great Yarmouth was also the home port of Admiral Lord Nelson.
