beautiful Home from Home Holiday

We have stayed here twice, both in 2015 and 2014 in the summer and both times we had an amazing time. The cottage is well equipped and spacious for a two bedroom , as it has two reception rooms and a large kitchen dinner. The property has been spotlessly clean on both occasions we have been and really felt like home. Its a five minute walk from a lovely sandy beach (and that's five minutes with a toddler and loads of bags!). The beach was never over crowded but lovely sand and waves are not too rough either meaning we could go in the clear and lovely water. The village has a local shop and bakery and selection of several places to eat which were all very good food and value. All the local people were friendly and we felt very welcome wherever we went. You arent far from main town and attractions should you want them, but Portreath has lots of charm and quiet relaxing places to go and escape from it all as well. Perfect balance!

finally the Landlord Pat was an absolute star and checked into see we were all settled and having a good time on both visits. He cares the property beautifully and has kept the fisherman's cottage features throughout

I would definitely recommend this cottage to anyone and go back myself a third time if i get the chance too

Lovely cottage in a great location

  • 5 of 5

The property is well equipped and has everything a family could possibly need for a comfortable stay. It is much bigger than it looks in the pictures which was a pleasant surprise!

It is nicely decorated and we found that it was clean and well maintained and everything worked!

We were really impressed with the owner as he was very friendly and welcoming and had even left us some milk in the fridge, some biscuits in the tin and some fresh flowers!

There is a convenience store within 2 minutes walk, the beach within 5 minutes walk and the beach itself is lovely.

I would recommend this property to anyone - we enjoyed a very happy holiday here.

We had a wonderful time in the Kingfisher House - end of august, 2010. We are a family with two children. The house was very convenient for us. Portreath is a good place for nice hiking tours and places like the Minack Theatre, the Eden Project, Land´s End, St. Michael´s Mount, Bodmin Moor, St Ives (Tate Gallery), The Nine Maiden- Stone circle, „man an tol“( a stone circle), ....
