About Mrs Shelagh Richards
Hi, we're Bob , Shelagh and Ernie the border Terrier. We live in Scotland and love using Pucks Lodge to escape
Mrs Shelagh Richards purchased this Lodge in 2009
Why Mrs Shelagh Richards chose Argyll and Bute
We fell in love with this peaceful area of Scotland and bought our holiday home in 2009. We had such fun using it that we decided to share it and allow other people to enjoy the beautiful area.
What makes this Lodge unique
Being dog owners , we were always looking for pet friendly properties that allowed us to enjoy beautiful scenery. We fell in love with the area around Pucks Glen , it has a magical feel and Ernie the border terrier just loves exploring the woodland.

Great lodge in an amazing spot! From first booking Shelagh and Bob were so helpful. The lodge was spotless and there was absolutely everything you need and more- fresh milk and welcome ‘teacakes’. Enclosed decking area so the dogs were safe. Directly behind the lodge was Pucks Glen- the most magical forest with amazing waterfalls. We also visited Benmore botanical gardens- also fabulous.
Myself, my family and my dogs had a great time at Pucks lodge- highly recommend it. Would definitely go for a return visit 😊
Hi Amanda Thank you for your kind review. We’re delighted you all enjoyed your stay and managed to see some of the local delights. Whenever guests bring their dogs to stay , they always enjoy Pucks Glen, there are so many nice walks to do in the area, so make sure you come back and explore the area again!
Bob and Shelagh
well equipped kitchen, lovely layout through out lodge, only problem was electricity price we found this to be quite high priced
We’re glad you enjoyed your stay at Pucks Lodge. It is as described a traditional log cabin, and unfortunately the timing of your visit coincided with ‘The Beast from the East’ and probably some of the coldest temperatures we have experienced in years. The electricity usuage would be higher than normal , but we run an honesty box system, there is an allowance in the cost of the holiday and we simply ask visitors to pay for any extra electric they use above this allowance (this is charged at the electric suppliers rate ) . We use this system rather than charge more for the holiday as we feel it is fairer for people to pay for what they use rather than charge everyone more.
We hope this didn’t spoil your enjoyment of the area, which beautiful in all weathers.
Located right on pucks Glen so super walks. Cosy Lodge, fully equipped. The children enjoyed the ferry to Dunoon. Its a shame we left the dog at home.
We’re glad you had a good time. You’re right we are so lucky with the walks. We’re dog friendly, so if you ever come back, please bring the dog, they’d be very welcome!
very calm and peaceful area
I would like to visit this place again in summer
Thank you for your feedback, we're delighted you had a nice stay at Pucks Lodge. We'd love to see you back again in the summer when hopefully the days will be longer and the weather kinder!

Beautiful lodge with fantastic adventures on the doorstep.
We had a lovely stay here. The lodge comes equipped with everything you need. The walks round Pucks Glen are amazing and the Botanical Gardens are also a nice walk away (if you dont want to drive). We will definitely be returning when our son is older so he can let his imagination run wild amongst all the trees and waterfalls. Plus Tunnocks teacakes upon arrival made a nice treat ;)
Thank you for your review. We’re delighted you had a good stay and you’re right , we are so lucky having Pucks Glen and Benmore Botanic Gardens so close to us.
We hope you get a chance to return with your little boy and explore more of the area.
