Photos and Description of this 3 bedroom holiday cottage in Perth - Powgavie Cottages

3 bedroom cottage, sleeps 6, peaceful with great views over the Tay estuary

Eppie is a traditional single storey cottage, extended and refurbished to a high standard. This comfortable, homely self catering cottage is adjoining to a second holiday cottage but not internally connected (they have separate entrances). They can be rented alone or together.

Eppie sleeps six with two double bedrooms and one twin bedroom. The master double boasts a king size bed, patio doors leading to the garden and an ensuite shower room. There is a separate family bathroom (bath with shower over). The living area and kitchen is open plan with patio doors out to the garden. There are dining table and chairs, comfortable seating for six, large windows providing fantastic views towards the river Tay and patio doors leading to the garden area. There is a utility room with washing and drying facilities.

The cottage has a garden with both grass and a patio area, parking, garden shed where bicycles can be stored, and an outdoor drying area. A BBQ and garden furniture is provided. The cottage is situated on a quiet road with very little passing traffic.

Dogs are welcome but please note there will be an additional £20 charged.

The cottage has super views of the Sidlaw hills and the River Tay. In a rural setting, two miles from the village of Inchture and between Perth and Dundee, Eppie makes a great base for exploring Perthshire, Angus and Fife and beyond.

The following attractions are all within one hour or less:

About Mrs Melissa Hope

My name is Melissa Hope. The Hope family has farmed on Powgavie for over 100 years. The two Powgavie Cottages, Eppie and Flisk, formerly farm workers' homes, were extended and refurbished in 2008. Since completing the cottages we have enjoyed welcoming guests from around the world and sharing our beautiful part of Scotland.

Mrs Melissa Hope purchased this cottage in 2008

(v) for relaxing in a peaceful rural setting and

(vi) for enjoying the view of hills, the Tay and its bridges and Fife

(vii) Dundee Waterfront regeneration is well underway and the V&A museum is on its way.

Clean, most comfortable and charming - we had a lovely peaceful holiday stay in this cottage. It was just as described in the advert.....only better!

Everything we could possibly have needed was supplied - and it is located so conveniently too. Within minutes you are on the main A90 between Perth and Dundee, and so this was an ideal base for anyone wanting to visit Scotland's towns, cities and the eastern coast.

As you sit at the meal table you have an amazing panoramic view and could hear a pin drop.....it is so quiet! There were only two of us, but the cottage is spacious and would be most ideal for a family. The owners were very welcoming and helpful.

We do hope to visit this area again soon, and if so, would most definitely make this cottage our first choice!

Weekend stay for a wedding

  • 5 of 5

My husband son daughter in law and grandson stayed in the Eppie Pawgavie cottage

Immediately as we walked in I knew it was perfect. The cottage is of very high standard both in furnitions and cleanliness. It has all the facilities you would want. Set in a very peaceful location lovely garden which my grandson made the most of. Melissa & her 2 kids popped in to make sure we were ok and we were that. I'd recommend this cottage great spot for sightseeing or just to get away from it all. Hopefully we mayb back some day with our 2 dogs who would love it. Oh and thanks for the bottle of delicious cider

Excellent for our needs

  • 5 of 5

Eppie was exactly as described and perfect for our needs. Very well designed property with plenty of storage including a small shed in which we were able to store the bikes. We found the crockery very heavy to handle and the 84 year old could hardly lift the teapot when full. Would have liked a tea cosy and a pair of kitchen scissors, otherwise very well equipped. The area is excellent for cycling with mainly flat cycling friendly roads. Melissa and family were helpful, friendly and even supplied delicious local strawberries upon our arrival. The property was very clean and welcoming.Would definitely recommend. We had one meal at The Inchture hotel which was the nearest and it was a good choice. Staff were friendly, welcoming and accomadating. The food was excellent and despite being busy the service was top class.

The property was beautiful. The location was stunning. They have everything there you could possibly need and all to a very high standard. We had a wonderful time. Watching the deer walk past the window was breathtaking. Have used other holiday accommodation before and this is definitely one of the best. Would certainly highly recommend to all. Thanks for a great time.

lovely and comfortable, well set up

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for a few nights in July 2015. The owners were very friendly and welcoming. The cottage was very well equipped and decorated. The beds were really comfortable with lovely bed linen. Nice big comfy sofas in the living room too. We could only stay a few days but we will definitely stay again when we're in the area. Amazing views across the fields to the Tay river.

Fabulous cottage in a great location

  • 5 of 5

Spent a wonderful 6 days in Eppie. Melissa is a wonderful host and the cottage could not have been better. Furniture was very nice and well cared for, and probably the most comfortable self catering beds we have stayed in.

Eppie is located on an easy off/on the M90 and is within 15 minutes of Perth or Dundee, both of which have great grocery stores and restaurants. There are lots of great attractions within easy driving distance. I highly recommend this cottage and am looking forward to coming back.
