Eze sur mer is a fabulous place to be on the French Riviera if you'd like to meet the crowds in Monaco, Cannes or Nice, attend the Monaco Grand Prix, if you have a family with children, and come back to a peaceful place, because it's a quiet, relaxing little town, with the woods and moutains in the back and the sea in the front !
Eze is qualified as the largest French Village, because it goes from the seashore up to 600 meters (7000 feet) above the sea level.
Eze sur mer is by the beach, used to have flower producers (that we still have). Eze Village is 400 meters up, and it's one of the jewels of the Riviera with 1.2 million visitors a year, medieval village, exotic garden.
During you visit, Monaco of course if a must see, with the Oceanographic Museum, the Palace, Nice is really close by, with the Flower Market, and all the different Museum including Chagall and Matisse.
Only 5 mn's drive away from Eze sur mer, you'll find great Villa Kerylos, which is a copy of an antique Greek Villa, right on the sea, ideal to explain to children how it was back them.
Also not to be missed, Villa Euphrussi de Rotschild in Saint Jean Cap Ferrat, only 10 mn's drive away, gorgeous gardens, views, in a magnificient Belle Epoque villa.
The beach has pebbles like anywhere between Nice and the Italian border, a very nice and famous restaurant called Anjuna, and a more Casual one called Papaya beach.
The public beach is very family oriented, lots of children, quiet, and safe, because of the lifeguards.
If you'd like to see the Riviera, and live like a local, this is the place to come.
Walking path (easy ones with children over 5), things to see and do, like the members of the U2 group, once you'll meet Eze sur mer, you will come back for sure.
Plenty of buses going to Nice and Monaco, a train station within 10 mn's walk from our apartment, you could avoid a car if you'd like.
However, we do believe that having one allows you to be more flexible and visit the small little villages that are off the touristy path and therefore cannot easily be reached by public transportation.
Lots of day trips are possible from Eze, and we would recommend to cross the border, as even if Italy is only 30 mn's drive away from us, it is a different world, different architecture, foods, etc.....
