Escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life on the amazing Suwannee River! Relax on the porch with your morning coffee and enjoy the peace and serenity. Charming location close to the Ichetucknee Spring and several other springs where you can cave dive or lose yourself floating in the crystal clear water.
There are several hunting preserves which makes this a great place to stay during hunting season.
You will be close to Lake City. And the Olustee Battlefield and Museum which is about 13 miles east of the city. This was the site of a Civil War battle in which Confederate forces turned back Union troops marching on Tallahassee. Each February, the battlefield comes alive during a reenactment of this historic event. The the site has a museum and an interpretive trail along battle lines that are open year round. In addition, shoppers enjoy Lake City's numerous shopping options and dining establishments.
If your looking for a peaceful place to stay this is it! Perfect location on the Suwannee not to far from the Santa Fe river and the amazing springs you'll find along the way in both directions. This was our first of many stays at this home. Pete showed us the way to the home and gave us the tour of the home and land! Will be going back for sure! Thanks so much again Pete for accommodating us at the last minute!
Pete and Sharon were great hosts. Very friendly and helpful.
Comfy and cozy little place, and they had everything we needed. Very clean, very very comfortable.
Would happily stay again!
We had an awesome time! Pete was in town and showed us the way 'cause it's way back in the woods! Very peaceful! He gave us directions to a lot of places. The grill and ice machine were very helpful. We fished off the dock and on the last day we rented a boat and cruised the river, just beautiful out there! The bed was comfortable! The décor was done by his wife and I would love to meet her NEXT TIME!!!! We will definitely be back!!!

My husband and I have stayed 3 times and have absolutely loved it. Quite and cozy. The porch is the best with outside TV and stereo system. Floating dock for fishing and room to dock the boat. We look forward returning soon. The Richardson’s are great! We had fresh baked cookies waiting on us this trip! Awesome!
Wow! This home is right on the river! We were Pete's first guests, and he was a wonderful host. He arranged for us to rent a small boat and even tied it up to the dock at the house so we could spend the day on the Suwannee River. We took the boat from the Suwannee River to the Santa Fe River to the Itchentucknee River where we swam in the crystal clear water before heading back down the Santa Fe to Ellie Ray's for a lunch of chicken wings, fish and chips, and cold drinks. But we didn't just enjoy our time because of the boat. It rained on and off the entire weekend, and it was great just sitting on the porch looking at the rain on the river and listening to the sounds of nature. Pete left his IPod for us so we were able to listen to music on the porch or watch the flat screen TV as well. We recorded movies on the DISH DVR for the living room TV so when it got dark we could kick back in the recliners and relax. (Pete set up a fire pit with wood in the yard for us but truth be told we were just too worn out after our day on the river to take advantage of it.) The queen size bed had a topper on it which made it super comfortable. The bathroom decorated as an outhouse was so cute, and the water pressure was great. We used the gas stove to cook bacon and eggs for breakfast and the charcoal grill to make burgers for dinner. (There's a huge propane grill under the porch as well, but we didn't use it.) Besides the refrigerator having an ice maker, there's also an ice maker under the porch to fill your cooler. We definitely recommend this rental and plan on returning ourselves in the fall.
