2nd Master Suite - Also located on the main floor, this bedroom has a queen-size bed, it's own amazing en-suite, flat-screen television with DirecTV and deck access.
Loft - Aside from restful views of the treetops, this room has two queen beds along with a full-size futon to sleep two more.
Downstairs Bedrooms - Each of the downstairs bedrooms offer more privacy with queen beds in each, large closets and an abundance of filtered natural light.
Bunk Room - This bunkroom is the perfect place for the little ones! The bunk bed itself has a twin on top with a large full-bed below.
Aside from the two master-baths, this vacation rental has two more bathrooms to ensure no-one is left waiting! This home is perfect for a large family gathering, company retreat or a fun gals-or-guys weekend!
The galley-style kitchen will have the chef-at-heart happily creating an amazing dinner on a gas range. With counter-space galore, everyone can prep their favorite dish without getting in each other's way. This kitchen also has a prep sink along with a full-sized sink, and if no one wants to wash dishes there's a new dishwasher ready to go. Need to keep wine, beer or dessert cold? The large refrigerator not only has enough space for your groceries, but also has an ice-maker and water dispenser.
While we're very fond of the kitchen and proud about how many people this vacation home can sleep (don't forget - 16 people!), what we're most proud of are the views of the Rogue River. The large windows not only let in natural light, they highlight the scenic views of the river below and the surrounding mountains. This home also features two large living spaces - one upstairs and off the kitchen and the other downstairs. And yes, both have the same amazing views of the Rogue River with the mountains and the trees. Though you can enjoy the splendor of the scenery, the close-in trees give the house a nice, private feel.
Outside, there's a deck, covered patio and lawn space. Just off the upper living area, the deck takes advantage of the views but is built with safety in mind. Instead of a traditional-style railing, cables are used below the rail to keep little ones (and clumsy big-ones) safe without obstructing the view. Up here, you feel like you're in the trees while looking down at the river.
When it gets hot, your guests can escape to the covered patio just off of the lower living space. Down here, they can dip into the hot tub or just enjoy watching cars cross the bridge. As the sun goes down, you can walk down the stairs from the patio to the terraced yard, where there's a fire pit that's perfect for telling stories and just hanging out.
Feel the need to get to the river? From the terrace, a short path takes you right to the banks of the river, where you can fish for salmon, try your hand at paddling for gold, launch a raft or kayak, or simply hang out in the cool water. While the views are amazing, for those who enjoy spending time in the river this vacation home is ideal.
And did we mention this rental is dog-friendly? We not only allow dogs into our vacation home, there's a kennel on-site so you can leave your four-legged friend while you go explore nearby Gold Beach.
Need to work while you're away or just like catching up on Facebook? This home hooked up to the internet through Wi-Fi so you can stay in-touch with your business partners or your friends. And don't worry about missing your favorite shows - we have DirecTV!
If you're looking for a peaceful home-away-from-home with privacy yet a little something for everyone, we hope you'll pick our Lobster Creek House!
5 night minimum on holidays.

The Lobster Creek House is a joint venture between Tim Parks and Dennis Hickey. We are business partners and owners of Parks Hickey Hay Sales in Merrill, Oregon. Our Klamath Basin hay farm keeps us busy, which is why we decided we needed a quiet get-away when the stresses of farming get to us. Both of us are family-men who enjoy spending time with our loved ones and friends, and this vacation rental allows us to do so with them.
Tim Parks purchased this house in 2013
This property is the perfect getaway when things get crazy. The Southern Oregon Coast is an untapped resource for vacations; there's plenty to do and a lot of people head to other parts of the Oregon Coast, making this ideal for relieving stress!
We both like to fish, and when we found this property right on the banks of the Rogue River we figured it was perfect. Our guests can go salmon fishing without having to drive, and if anyone wants to go out on the ocean, there's charters within a short drive to head out on the Pacific. Plus, there's a lot of other activities to do to keep our families occupied and entertained!
When we built this house, our goal was to design it to take advantage of the amazing views of the Rogue River, the mountains and the trees without sacrificing our privacy. With the large windows and open floor plan, we feel that we're able to have a great view from almost every room, while the close-in aspens, firs and brush keep it private.
We enjoy getting away from our regular lives and spending time in Gold Beach, and we hope you do too!
The best benefit of this vacation home is how peaceful it is, yet there's plenty to do. Since it sleeps 16 people, you can invite your closest friends and family and if you need to a break from the action, there's plenty of room to find quiet place to sit and read a book.
The access to the Rogue River provides a lot for your guests to do - from salmon fishing to panning for gold to just hanging out in an inner-tube. It's a great place to make memories and have a lot of fun!
Then there's the privacy. In a lot vacation homes we've stayed in, if you have an amazing view it's often sacrificed by allowing every passer-by see what you and your party are doing. At this house, you can watch cars pass over the bridge, watch the river down below or just watch the sun pass across the mountains and you still feel completely private. That's part of what makes it great for family gatherings or parties with friends - you can have fun without worrying about everyone watching your antics or interrupting your good times!
My family and I recently rented the Lobster Creek house for a week and couldn't have been more happy with our choice. The property manager, Ronnell, was a dream to work with.
We highly recommend this property to anyone looking to get away from it all....
The only thing is they need more hand towels and dish rags. A house that size should have an abundance :)
We LOVED our stay at the Lobster Creek home in Gold Beach. The weather was amazing which only enhanced the stellar view from this very accommodating home's expansive deck. Thank you so much for adding the accessibility ramp, making the stay possible for my father-in-law and family! This was above and beyond! This home made a very welcome reunion spot for family coming from as far as Colorado and California in addition to we Oregonians. Perfect place to remember all we are thankful for over this holiday weekend. We had a little trouble finding the house at night as we lost cell service en route to the home. Might be a good idea to note the # of miles from 101 so you have a gauge for when you are getting close. All in all, we were VERY pleased with this home and the people we corresponded with in the process of booking. Thank you!
While we call it the Lobster Creek House, this beautiful, modern vacation home sits on the banks of the Rogue River outside of Gold Beach in Curry County, Oregon. Tucked into the tall firs that grow in abundance in the Southern Oregon Coastal range, this particular property gives you access to everything that makes this area an amazing place to visit.
Settlers came to Curry County seeking their fortunes in gold. Originally named Ellensburg in the 1850s, the locals renamed it Gold Beach in 1890. However, eventually gold gave way to other industries, namely timber. The wet winters and rich, volcanic soil makes Curry County an ideal place for growing timber. Now these same forests are a great place for visitors to hike, mountain bike or simply take a leisurely stroll. They also provide homes to elk, deer, bald eagles and numerous other species of wildlife that will make you glad you brought your camera and binoculars.
If you prefer to spend your time on the water, since our vacation house is on the Rogue River you can spend your days fishing for trout or salmon, as well as enjoy the hot days splashing in the river or kayaking. For the more adventurous, Jerry's Jet Boats will give you an amazing trip up the Rogue along with a bit of local history. You can also go into the marina in Gold Beach to charter fishing trips or to go out on the Pacific for a bit of deep-sea fishing. And don't forget - this area was settled by miners looking for gold! If you're looking for a different kind of water activity, try panning for gold along the banks of the Rogue or the creeks that run into it.
Since a lot of people choose other places along the Oregon Coast for vacation, one of the great features of the Gold Beach area is it often doesn't get crowded. Not only does this allow for a more peaceful, restful vacation, it has allowed the Gold Beach community to keep a bit of its local flavor in-tact. You can sip beers at the Arch Rock Brewing Company, have a snack and a cocktail at the Sea Star Spirit House, or wander around the shops in Gold Beach. And if you do like a bit of action, there's a Wine and Music Festival in May and a car show and Art and Brew Festival held every September. For art collectors, there's a multitude of art galleries and glass shops. And if you're looking for the perfect souvenir of your Gold Beach vacation, be sure to check out the myrtlewood galleries where you can find bowls, carvings and other pieces of art carved from this beautiful wood and its deeply contrasting grain.
As you can see, if you're looking for a peaceful vacation that still offers a lot to do, Gold Beach and the Southern Oregon Coast is perfect for you, your family and your friends. And while our vacation home isn't right in the middle of the action, with a short drive you can golf, go beach combing for sea shells or enjoy the historical attractions. And if you don't want to leave, our vacation rental is in the perfect place to enjoy much of what makes Curry County great without the drive!
