1 Bed/1 Bath condo close to light rail and I-25. Many amenities within 1 mile.

The Guest House is a 780 sq. ft. 1 bedroom/1 bathroom condominium centrally located within a condo community in south Denver. With easy access to transit and I-25, The Guest House is perfect for relocation, house-hunting, extended business trips (e.g. traveling nurses, visiting scientists) and long vacations. We are located just north of the Denver Tech Center and just south of the University of Denver. With the Southmoor light rail station just minutes away by foot or car, The Guest House is also an excellent choice for those whose business or pleasure takes them to downtown Denver.

Established in 2015, all of the furnishings in The Guest House are new and were selected to create a comfortable but modern feel. The Guest House sleeps 1-2 comfortably in a queen size bed and the bedroom also features a large walk-in closet. All appliances are full size and include front-loading washer and dryer, dishwasher and electric glass-top range.

The living room features a 45" flat screen TV and Blueray player with a full Comcast cable TV package, high speed internet with wireless and a land line phone.

The large patio is a highlight of this property if you enjoy spending time relaxing outside. Landscaping surrounds the patio, which provides a sense of privacy even though the unit overlooks the central common space, where you'll often see residents walking their dogs. We provide patio chairs and a small table.

Off the dining area, which seats four comfortably at an extendable table, you'll find a galley kitchen that includes dinner and glassware for six, a full set of cookware, basic bakeware, a coffee maker, kettle, toaster oven and a nicely stocked spice cupboard with a range of basic spices and cooking supplies such as spray and oil. A detailed list of items available in the kitchen will be included in your welcome packet before you arrive, but if there is something specific you hope to find, please don't hesitate to ask. Being able to cook while away from home is one of our main reasons for staying in vacation properties when we travel, so we've tried to equip the kitchen as we'd hope to find it.

We are a pet-friendly property, but limit guests to one dog or cat. Dogs must be leashed at all times while on the property per Denver ordinances. Owners must, of course, pick up after their dogs and pets may not be left unattended on the patio. Noisy or otherwise disruptive animals will not be tolerated and you may be asked to leave. Please see our pet policy for more details.

The community clubhouse features a large indoor pool and recently remodeled workout room with a high-end treadmill, recumbent bike, universal gym equipment and free weights. These amenities are available to our guests via a key card. Lost key cards will incur a $25 replacement fee.

Though marijuana is legal for personal, private consumption in Denver, The Guest House is a fully non-smoking property. Guests may not smoke tobacco, e-cigarettes or marijuana (or any other substance) inside or on the patio. Please choose other accommodations if you intend to smoke during your stay in Denver.

The Guest House is a ground floor unit, but the main entry is below street-level and is only accessible via a flight of stairs. On-site parking is abundant and includes a dedicated covered parking space.

We thoroughly clean the property after each guest for shorter stays and at least once per month during longer visits. However, cleaning supplies including a cyclonic vacuum, Swiffer sweeper and broom are available for touch ups should you need them.

Though we hope that guests will treat The Guest House, community property and our neighbors with the utmost respect, we will require guests to sign a contract acknowledging community/property rules & regulations, limits on liability, etc. Guests are fully responsible for any damage they, their guests or their pets cause to the property.

As we live onsite, we will either meet you or make arrangements for you to get the door key via a lock box, depending upon the time of your arrival. Check-in and check-out times are flexible.

We prefer monthly bookings to begin on the 1st and end on the 30th or 31st, but we may be flexible. Also, guests are welcome to use as little or as much of the 30-day booking as meets their needs. However, Denver laws are shifting in such a way that The Guest House cannot be rented for less than 30 days (29 nights) at a time.

About The Owner

Shawna is originally from Canada and Corey grew up south of Denver. We met in graduate school in Oregon and after living together in a small studio apartment in Santa Barbara, we decided to move closer to family in Colorado. Our goal in searching for our primary residence in 2008 was to find a condo in a really walkable neighborhood close to light rail. We love small space, urban living; snowboarding & scuba diving; transit; and spending time on our patio.

We chose this property because we love our neighborhood and we're sure that visitors to the city will as well. The Guest House is centrally located in the Southmoor neighborhood. You'll find easy access by both car and public transportation to the Denver Tech Center, Downtown Denver, Aurora and many attractions. Examples of such attractions include:

• Park Meadows Mall, Colorado's only Retail Resort – one train, 20 minute drive

• Denver Zoo – one bus, 20 minute drive

• Denver Museum of Nature and Science – one bus, 20 minute drive

What makes this condo unique

We had always coveted the patio on this property, which is north-facing and nicely landscaped, which makes it a lovely cool place for a cup of coffee or glass of wine. It overlooks the central common green-space and is just steps from the clubhouse and indoor swimming pool.

We've designed The Guest House to be a comfortable home away from home that we'd be happy to stay in ourselves. With new furnishings from IKEA, full-sized Kenmore washer & dryer and a well-appointed kitchen with staple pantry items, The Guest House is the perfect accommodations for those in Denver for vacation, business or relocation. Our experience living in smaller spaces has taught us how to make it feel more spacious; we think you'll come to find that you have all the room you need.

  • The Guest House has a spacious bathroom with a full size bathtub that features dual shower heads. There is one sink in a large vanity that would easily allow for more than one person to be getting ready at the same time. There is plenty of storage for toiletries, etc. There is a hairdryer. The full size Kenmore frontloading washer and dryer are located behind the bathroom door. Detergent is provided.

  • Two sleep comfortably in the large bedroom furnished with a new memory foam queen bed. There is ample storage for clothes and other items in the three-drawer bureau, nightstands and walk-in closet. The apartment has tile floors throughout but your feet will be toasty when you get out of bed on fluffy area rugs. There is a small digital alarm clock on one nightstand. Additional guests (up to two) will sleep comfortably on a full size air bed. The air bed must be requested ahead of time as it is not normally stored at The Guest House. All linens are provided and extras can be found in the bathroom and walk-in closet.

Clean and close to the city

The guest house was very nice and clean. The owners responded very quickly and made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. The location was perfect, close to the city. If I find myself back in Denver I will definitely rent this again!

Centrally located and condo had all you need

Finding a place that allowed pets was a challenge for us. This unit was pet friendly and the owner was great to work with! She was quick to respond to messages and did all they could to make sure this was as smooth a transition as possible. The condo itself is on the ground level which was a huge plus for us since our dog is older and does not do stairs all that well. It also made it easy to move our stuff into the unit. The condo had all the essentials you would need to get by for a month or so. It is also a couple blocks off I-25 which made it easy to get around the city. Food and grocery within walking distance. Overall, the condo is a great option for someone in Denver for the short-term. The only caution and reason I did not give it 5 stars is that the parking lot is on a busy street and might have a few too many eyes on it if you catch my drift...I would make sure not to keep anything of value in the vehicle as we had a couple hiccups with the parking lot. Besides that, there was ample parking and a very short walk from the parking lot to the condo.

Pleasant place, great location

We were pretty pleased with our visit; we needed to find someplace to stay while work was being done on our home and this place met our needs really well, especially with a dog and a cat.

The only downside I can think of is the outside of the buildings; some of them are in sad need of repair, so the first impression was a little odd.

Don't let that fool you, though -- the condo itself was warm and inviting, and very comfortable. There's plenty of space for two, and the big wall of sliding glass doors makes it feel even larger. The cupboards are well stocked with all the supplies you need for an extended stay. I had not slept on a mattress like the one used here, but I I liked it enough that I may go replace my mattress at home -- very comfy.

The big plus was convenience -- there are a bunch of good places to eat within a five minute walk, from Starbucks to excellent BBQ at Jim'n'Nicks to burgers and sandwiches, to the amazingly good Bagel Deli. Add to that the grocery store two blocks away, and easy access to the freeway, and the location really just can't be beat.

Thanks for letting us stay! We wish we could have stayed longer!

Nicely Furnished and Well-Equipped Condo

The location is a good one for getting around most of Denver, but stay off of I-25 at rush hour. Anyway, we liked the unit and found that the kitchen had all the need appliances (save a blender) and most all of needed condiments. Very nice. Being on the ground floor, it is easy to use the patio for entrance and exit, but one has to lock up by using the stairway entry. Washer and dryer worked well and were very handy. Everything in the unit was clean and worked OK. The Bagel and Sushi Train were just 2 blocks away and serve very good food.
