Owners (Karen & Doug) built the home in 1996. The home is built on the family farm and overlook the 200 acre farm that still grows crops and pastures with cows. Residents of Fauquier county since childhood.
Raising three boys the home has been the site of all the extended family gatherings because of the spacious indoor and outdoor living spaces. The areas provide plenty of area for everyone to spread out and relax, offering many different places to sit and relax.
Two of the boys are off to college and the house is not used to capacity it once was. The house was built for family togetherness and vacations and placing it on the rental market allows the home to be used as intended for families and memories to be made. Owner maintains intermittent residence in basement apartment.
Karen Webb purchased this house in 1996
The property is named Pineapple Hill, as symbol for hospitality & welcome. For many years extended family always came to the home for holidays, birthdays and other celebrations. The large farm property has been in the family for over 35 years and handed down from grandparents.
Our boys had the privilege to have grandparents close by. During snowstorms my grandfather loved to come pick up the boys and drive them around the property and pull them on sleds. We hope that families using the property will have their own fond memories. Owner basement apartment allows for quick responsiveness for any issues vacationers may have and allows us to provide Bed & Breakfast services on select weekend ~ just ask how we can support your party!
View of the farmland that has been in the family off the back porch. Tranquil, secluded pool area that makes you feel transported to a resort. Mountain views from the front porch. Area is thought to be part of the Civil War activities. Plenty of wildlife to include deer, fox, wild turkeys and bald Eagles have been spotted.
Amenities that make you step onto the property and immediately able to start your vacation include paper towels, toilet paper, trash bags, laundry and dishwashing detergent.
We rented the Pineapple Hill house last month to attend a family wedding in the Washington DC area and it was everything we expected and more. Comfortable beds, plenty of seating, fully stocked kitchen, convenient key code entry, beautiful grounds, great outside deck area. We visited a bit too early in the season to be able to use the pool though.
We hosted a rehearsal party for the bride and groom, family and friends at the property and this is where the host, Karen, was a shining star! Every request I had, Karen responded with enthusiasm and then offered so many helpful items. Chafing dishes, drink dispensers, serving dishes, tiki torch fuel, s'mores fixins for the outdoor fireplace, and so much more!
Something we didn't see in the listing was that there is a basement apartment and this is where the host and husband lived while we were there. It did not detract from our stay, but guests should be advised.
There was a moment when it seemed there was not enough hot water to accommodate the number of people in the house, but one call to Karen and she explained that a switch needed to be flipped and her son was on his way to address the issue. Within 20 mins the problem was corrected! Plenty of hot showers for all of us :-)
We would definitely recommend a stay at Pineapple Hill for everything from a quiet family getaway to a venue for entertaining. Thank you Karen!
We enjoyed a short but very comfortable stay. The owners are easy to work with and very friendly and the house is large and comfortable.
This house is as described and the hosts definitely deserve all of the excellent reviews that they are receiving. My husband and I rented the house so that we could host our 3 adult children and their spouses all in one place; rather than having to put everyone up in hotels and then squeezing them into our small apartment for dinner.
My favorite part of this house was the downstairs entertaining area. This section of the house is so large that we actually only used the family room and kitchen – didn’t even need to step into the formal living room or dining room. There were more than enough seating areas for everyone to spread out and play card games, watch movies, share a conversation with a sibling they haven’t seen in a while or even commandeer the comfy chair and ottoman in the corner by the Christmas tree to work on a cross stitch. I loved that the kitchen is huge and open to the family room so that I could easily cook while still being part of the family.
I noticed several comments (in the reviews) about the owners living downstairs and I’m not quite sure why this would be considered a bad thing. When we arrived at the house there were cookies and lemon aid all set up and a candle burning so the house smelled wonderful. During our stay I texted the owner once to ask how to get the gas fireplace started and she immediately texted me back with instructions and an offer to come up and help if needed. Her directions were excellent so I didn’t need her to come up. However, I actually found it comforting to know that if something went wrong or didn’t work they were close by to help out.
Excellent location and beautiful property for entertaining. The surrounding land is pretty, any kind of shopping is 20 minutes or less away, and the house is lovely and spacious. The owners were responsive and at the same time so discrete one would never know they are on the property.
House was wonderful. Extremely comfortable, very quiet, no disruptions of any kind. Great pool area and plenty of space for six people. As advertised, perhaps even better.
Pineapple Hill was the perfect place to stay while in warrenton for a wedding at the black horse inn. The house was even nicer in person than in the pictures. Plenty of space for four couples to relax in between events. Beautiful deck and pool area to use too! The owners did stay on site but that was ok!! Didn't even know they were there (but wish we met their dog!). Karen was very quick to respond to any questions we had while booking. Would come back again if I'm the area!
